Hadn't been in these parts in a while so just noticed the V3 release. Congrats! The former kits have worked so well for me. How do I know if I have the correct heater cover? The 7thHeaven site is a bit confusing and from what see there doesn't list an 18mm one. Maybe I'm wrong.
Where do I measure and what is the wrong one, if you don't mind telling me?
@stuartambient If the V2 kit pieces worked for you, the V3 will fit your device as well.

The heater cover that isn't compatible is the spherical one.

Thanks Dave. I think mine is the V1, you were about to do V2. Anyway it sounds like it will work. Hopefully soon, it looks like a nice setup. Micro-dosing has worked out well for me.

2009! Such an awesome performing long lasting vaporizer!

You're going to love the options you'll have with the kit!
Great timing as well, am including a bunch of new rimless basket screens and an installation tool (no additional $$$) and they will give even more options.

Enjoy!

thanks @DDave i appreciate that!! Yes my DBV has been my main driver everyday since i got it in 2009. It did take a "leave of absence" for a bit when i got a non-official cloud on ebay, but that got knocked over one day and the GG joint broke and out came my trusted DBV.

I hope the kit comes with some instructions for use. i have read this forum and scoured your website @DDave and found some helpful tips but i am not totally sure i know how it works yet. i am sure when i get it in my hands and tinker i will figure it out. i am looking forward to it!!!!

I've also had my DBV since '09 as my daily driver. Really looking forward to seeing what this kit brings to the table! Really cool that @DDave is innovating on a classic vape like ours.

man i truly hate to admit this but i am lost :( feeling like a noob looking at all these parts. i watched the video
but the glass piece in the video he was using i do not have. i have two that look like the one in the video but only one is open (the other has a basket or glass screen at the bottom) and they are both 14mm and do not fit over the upside down funnel like in the video. the only 18mm pieces i received are a full size wand very similar to my existing DBV wands and a connector of some sort that is 18mm female on both sides.

the rimless screens appear to be two different sizes too and/or two different sizes of mesh (holes seem tighter and smaller on some)

I also received a 14mm wand similar to 18mm full wand to

if anyone out there that is using this V3 mod and has done or willing to do a video with the parts in the package..... i would be in your debt... LOL

I know the kit options can be a bit daunting.

Start out with replacing stock with pieces from the kit, that will give you the 18mm Mod setup.
Basically, replace their wand and basket screens with the ones from the kit. They look similar, but wand and baskets are diff dimensions. Use your choice of Whip tubing to attach to the wand (flexible or rigid), then finally on the other end of the whip tubing, add the water tool adapter. If you got the 14mm water tool adapter, makes a great mouthpiece as well.

The 14mm Wand works similarly, although with the 18mm/14mm reducer. It comes with its own rimmed and rimless basket screens. Same principle as the 18mm, but better microdosing control.

The rimless basket screens can be installed inside the wand, so you end up with an internal screen, space for herb, and cap that off with a basket screen. Fully enclosed herb chamber within the wand. Load 1/2 the space between screens (adjustable) with herbs so you can remove and shake to stir. Don't remove the internal screen after installing. Just remove basket screen, dump out spent herb, then reload.

Hope these quick tips help! Let me know if other questions.

Thanks @DDave i guess the contents list is really confusing as well without pics. also, the contents said 2 pieces of whip tubing and i have 3. i am not complaining just trying to figure it all out.

what is the piece that is 2 18mm female gg ends with a little glass stick to grab?

you say "if you got the 14mm water tool adapter" i thought i ordered everything? i checked the box during the order so i thought i got everything. so what does that part look like?

sorry to be such a noob with this considering i should be a more advanced after all this time... lol

I definitely acknowledge the fact that I need to create some updated instructions with pics... till then, glad to field the extra questions...

Ah, the 18mm M/M, a freebie. Not normally included. Once in a while they make their way into various kits in the hopes the recipient has a use for or can gift it.

These are water tool adapters... one 14mm, the other 18mm...

And finally that really large/thick piece of whip tubing can be used to reinforce the flexible whip tubing if your setup causes the flexible whip tubing to kink. (Known as the Antiflex Collar...)

Hope this helps!

I received the kit in the mail yesterday, it was well packaged. I've tried out both the 18mm and 14mm wands, and I'm enjoying the efficiency of this mod so far, and the choices it affords.

I combusted a bit in the 14mm wand but I think it was a combination of being a bit too tightly packed and too long a draw. That 14mn one has a bit more of a learning curve to it since the draw is tighter.

My only question was, are the smaller rimless screens intended for the 14mm wand? It doesn't seem to fit in the same way as the one with the rim as it's a bit wider of a basket. I tried using the funnel to install it but it didn't seem to want to go in.

Glad to hear you're liking the changes the mod brings to your vaping sessions!

The rimless basket screens are not the same dimensions as the rimmed baskets. They fit many different applications and even when variances in glass size are present, they sit tight. Due to this flexibility, they are a bit more challenging to insert. For the 14mm screens, I use a golf tee with the tip cut off. Haven't found a good sized funnel for the installation tool application yet, as with the 18mm rimless baskets.

I thought there might be when thinking the mod through.

Still a new mod, so awaiting much more feedback, but those who've tested so far did not mention this.

Thoughts behind design as related to fallout:
* Screen inside diameter more narrow than Arizer baskets, holding a tamp better.
* Similar to Solo Wand pack, I've had very little fallout on the solo and that wand sits vertically.
* angle of the vape heater cover opening helps.

Stay tuned. I hear there's a DBV review in progress that may soon be posted.. and possibly soon after, one on the SSV as well...

Hi ddave could you give me some advice?i ordered your ssv ddave mod upgrade and have been tracking its delivery progress and i have been given an notification saying they attempted to deliver said package at 6.30 this morning which is totally not true, how do i chase this up?

The quick fix is nesting your DDave basket inside a standard Arizer baskey screen and then those into a standard 18.8 male adapter so it relocates the load closer to the heater.

The jury rig works OK but not as well as the DDave wand. When you get your replacement you might consider putting some bumpers on it. Being a total klutz I use .5" silicon o rings and a collar off a E Nano stem. Good Luck

Why not just stay away from glass vaporizers?
You have so many options!
Solo - has glas stems only
Mighty or Crafty
Boundless vapes
and the list goes on...

Combustion is just :puke: after vaping!

Dynavap Omni Ti XL here, from 4/20 on their website... I do love it and use it as a on-the-go-vape, outside-vape, undestructible-with-no-glass-vape, induction-prototype-vape, post-nuke-vape, everything-else-vape, and so on …

So i'll be able to keep on vaping even if i do have to wait for glass replacement ! You just do need a backup ;)

I THINK i know what might have happened.i thought id clean it and put it in its bag since the volcano was back out(not liking the volcano,im going to sell it to fund a flowerpot). There was glass inside the heater cover, ive been using cut down ddave basket screens since i got it and decided to try out the rimmed ones i got and this must have caused somthing to happen when ive had a hit from the ssv.i can never just leave things alone when they are working and should have just stuck with the rimless.anyway ive had time to chill now and going back to smoking would be stupid lol.i am put off with the ssv now as well though and as i right this ive realised as soon as a flowerpot is in my hands im selling this ssv also.hopefully i get my true daily driver nailed down on the next try.i must admit though i thought i was sorted with the ssv and ddave mod because its been good while it lasted but i cant keep spending $45-50 when inluding customs and everything when my glass breaks out of the blue.like the post above says,my next logical step is a vape without glass parts(not including bubblers/bongs),a flowerpot .

  1. Ok so just for anyones future reference.i sourced some wands with 18mm and 14mm joints on the same wand.i bought 10 seeing as they were only cheap and to be honest they are not all the same size BUT none of them were too big and even the smallest wand accepted the 18mm eq baskets without being too tight.the joints are the standard length so not as long as the ddave wand but they dont have be,i always thought bringing the load closer to the heater was pointless anyway if you need to turn the temps back.one big plus is that they fit the heater cover better than the ddave wands, his are FAR too tight.so tight that mine broke in the heater cover through sticking all the time, this clearly waekend my wand https://www.grasscity.com/uk_en/cle...-5mm-male-18-8mm.html?nosto=frontpage-nosto-3 there is a link for said wands if anyine in england has ever fancied a ddave mod and didnt want to pay the shipping and customs. And here is a link for the baskets https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0...AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=arizer+extreme+q hope this helps anyone wanting to try the mod in the cheapest form i could find.

This thread has been quiet for over a year and I just received @DDave version 3 of the mod with the concentration chamber so I figured I would chime in. When I first saw the 14mm wand with the tiny basket screens I thought it was kinda silly, thinking how many hits can I actually get out of this, is it worth bothering with being such a small amount? well, of all the items received, the 14mm wand seems to be the smoothest of them all and I am astounded with how many really solid hits you can get from such a tiny amount of material placed in the basket.

the concentration chamber is also amazing, been using dry herb only, using no metal screens, just the glass screens in there with the tiny holes,

I have been using the DBV lately as others have as a log vape and holding the DaBuddha in my hands and drawing directly from the glass without the tubing. Some of the smoothest tastiest vapor I have ever experienced. All glass vapor is the way to go!!!

Bravo to @DDave for another brilliant mod.

AWESOME!!!!!
