I'm glad we're mentioning the tag and dnail dishes as I'm still yet to buy a flopwerpot and would want a complete kit for the most part minus the enail itself. How well does the lollipop cap fit on the dnail SiC version?

I'd really really like to try dnails sapphire dish on the flower pot!

It's money tho and a lot of it for sapphire plus it's more fragile oh and did I mention the cost it's like £400 which for our American friends is around $520!!!

Have we established that the flowerpot sic dish is the exact same thing as the tag sic dish?

:sherlock:

Think we can agree it's the same substance? But others have also mentioned the tag one is a little rough around the edges and deeper but overall more narrow as a dabbing surface.

All I wonder about is how well the lollipop sits in combo with the dnail SiC dish, could I ask a member to post up a few pics to confirm this? If it sits perfectly well (which I'm 99% sure it does or else members who have it would say) then I'd be inclined to get the dnail version and then if I ever had money to burn a sapphire dnail dish would be on the cards ;).

It is the same as verified by this post

Another thing most dont realize but the Dnail carb cap brings the Dnail sic to another level IMO. The carb cab has a lip on it that allows the carb cap to sit flush on the sic dish so you can let go of it if you want or spin it and it stays aligned because the inner lip sits inside the dish. I have seen no other carb cap to be like this except the rip tide carb caps which are for bangers or open dishes like the Liger inserts.

I use the $25 tag carb cap on both my tag and d-nail dish. I haven't tried the d-nail or lollipop carb caps so they might fit better.

Ty all for the Dnail Sic to Tag comparisons . The actual Tag Sic dishes are what Newvape is using for the Sic option , they order direct from Tag so no difference. I'll have to give a Dnail dish a try someday , @nosmoking does the actual Lollicap fit the Dnail Sic dish ? Also there were 2 models i believe of the lollicap , a revision was made to fit the Fp heads better. I can actual leave mine on the quartz , sic or tit head without having to hold it and i do spin it also while taking a hit. It sits perfectly flush , hoping it may work that way on the Dnail Sic as well. Can you link to the cap you are referring to ?

@Justpassedu I'm using d-nail's dish, I had tag's for a minute but returned it. I'm guessing that the tag dish's centerpost might be a bit taller than d-nail's, which would preclude me from running two coils. It barely fits with d-nail's dish. I hadn't thought of the two coil thing yet when I had the tag so I didn't think to check for fit. I think the tag sic dish system is fine, just that d-nail's is more than fine it's superlative.

The d-nail sic dish is the biggest luxury in my econo-dabbing rig, and I'm totally okay with that.

:science:
Holy shit, you can use the SiC halo as the nail part on this thing? Does it work well? If so, I'm about to buy one for 4 star hash use alone! Are there any functionality trade offs? Which coil do you use? Can I see a pic of the whole thing assembled with a d-nail SiC halo? I saw one of yours but with 2 coils, I only wanna use one coil of course lol

Can anyone measure the inner diameter of the flower bowl section, I'd be most appreciative! :)

Here is the dnail sic dish with a 16mm coil. Works awesome . I love the dnail sic dish and found the new Vape/tag one hard to dab out of. It's so much easier to get your dab in the dnail dish especially with bad eyesight.
Excellent! Thank you kindly for this!

Also I'm assuming that the d-nail cap is going to function better here than the newvape one, have you guys used this and can you confirm?

Also can newvape make coils with pin arrangements that work with a d-nail controller? Or will I have to order a barrel coil from yet another vendor?

@Likes2vape has his(?) set up correctly as per instructed by the manufacturer.

As you mentioned I did no such thing

I've gone off the reservation a bit :freak:

This one's to show relative size between the herb bowl and d-nail's sic dish.

I'm sorry what was the question again?

I have the tag carb cap and it works fine but I'm going to order the dnail one since it just seems so much nicer and designed to work perfectly with their sic dish.

Your going to have to order a coil from another vendor since the New Vape coils use a different connection than the standard xlr connector.

Just in case it got missed/its helpful...
Damn, yeah definitely need to get a coil from another vendor. I'm not getting locked into unusual proprietary heaters and controllers! Newvapes' claims about competitor's coils are simply not born out in my experience. I've run the same d-nail coil 24/7 for multiple years without failure with multiple different units. None of my controllers have ever gotten hot or failed, I own 4 of them!

Yeah, this is the one area where I and NV disagree. I lean with you on this, @herbivore21 ..

Please don't twist my words. I never said anything bad about dnail. I never implied that dnail has ever had any problems with any of it's products. I feel dnail is a quality american company. thanks @Baron23
You mentioned problems with product/s from 'competitors' generically. As such, I took your comment to refer to all other enail manufacturers (one of several possibilities given the ambiguity of your original post cited below), of which d-nail is one:

our decision to use that plug dates back 3-4 years. We had reports of our competitors boxes getting hot and catching fire when accidentally being left on. We decided to OVER ENGINEER and use that heavy duty plug, increase the wire size, and solder all connections. we've sold nearly 1000 of these coils to date and less than 10 ever been returned. We've had fewer controller returns. Our coils come with a 30 day warranty because we were under the impression that people would abuse them, run the temp up to try and burn off / clean their nails. To date that's never happened. Many of these coils are being used in our rosin plates where the temps never get above 300f. I'm ok with not being standard. I do appreciate your point of view
If there are specific competitor/s who have had these issues, perhaps you can clarify this in future? Otherwise, your original post may be taken to refer to all competitors who use the typical xlr/pin arrangement that you guys don't use (ie: the one d-nail uses). :peace:

Regardless, the typical pin arrangement/xlr plug type used by d-nail IME does not ever experience any of the issues you mention and while there may be known benefits to the design you chose in absolute terms, what I am saying is that it appears to me that the over-engineering you guys elected for is just that. Also, this over-engineering is surplus to what is required for safe reliable operation in a way that alienates potential customers like me from your product ecosystem.

Finally got it! Took forever! Here are my impressions after one day-

Some things to note if you're in the UK- expect to pay 20% tax, plus 21 quid in fees from Parcel Force- I had to cough up £79 altogether. Also factor in shipping which was $41.

So problems first.... anything that had hemp rope (the tray and handle) left some bad smelling glue like residue everywhere. It was like it had melted off the hemp and pooled in the plastic bags. I could clean it off but not a good thing. I guess it was due to the length of time in transit. Also the handle did not fit my enail- the enail was just a bit too fat. It's totally unnecessary anyway, the enail is cool enough to hold on its own.

Apart from that this thing is fantastic. As good as, and in some ways better than the TI. Taste is better. Extraction is quicker- literally one hit and done. Clouds are about the same. The TI is slightly airier, but it's a bit smoother.

Operationally I prefer the TI- there's no carb cap, which on the FP is an extra object to use, and doesn't make it quite so simple. I haven't used concentrates yet in either. But this will be where the FP shines, and the double decker is something the TI can't do.

I have both 16mm and 20mm coils- 800f with the 16mm is just perfect. Using 20mm the heat up time is much quicker- about a minute at a guess. Also have to go lower in temp, I've settled on 700f here.

I am amazed by both this and the TI. The performance on both is miles ahead of anything. I feel like I've finally found what I was looking for since I started vaping- a near perfect simulation of smoking. I love them both!

Great new comparision review - thx a lot!

Guess the Herborizer TI is the perfect single flower desk vape, if you love smooth vapour like me (let's see what the Glass Symphony will bring), the Twax the best allrounder all around.

Love vaping flowers with my Herb Ti the last days. So smooth and so nice vapour. Have also the enailadapter which I haven't tried up to now. It don't look promising to me regarding handling, "dish" area and taste of pure Ti. Will try it the next days but only for science's sake.

But Twax is looking so promising in using it for flowers a/o concentrates combined with easy handling, may be not the best for flowers regarding the recommended use of the lolly cap and less smoothness.

If I won't have alternatives and look for solutions for flowers AND concentrates the Twax would be my first desk top vape for sure especially bc of the option to pair it with D-nail Halo dishes and inserts. So you will not only have the option to use concentrates you will have one of the best devices for vaping concentrates all around. And that paired with one of the best options for vaping flowers.

My gf would kill me if I would buy another desk top vape now..:goon::whip:......maybe BF sale? :hmm:

Almost there...

I bought the NewVape coil and just soldered an XLR connector using their pin out diagram.
I use it with my China controller and it works awesome!

I quite like the fact that @NewVape710 recommends their package as a "tried and tested" option.
At least when you buy all their products you are guaranteed a working vaporizer.

This is not a computer peripheral that needs to be able to be plugged into the exact same port worldwide.

We should also add that Errlectric has their own custom coils etc as well as many other vendors out there. Just because we decide we want it to work differently, does not mean the manufacturer has to jump and bow to our every wish.
I have discovered over the years, us vaporists want stuff to work the way WE want it to work and not the way it was intended to work.

I bought my @NewVape710 Flower Pot knowing this and knowing what i would need to do to get it to work with the equipment i had on hand, no complaints whatsoever!
It's a great product that works extremely well.

And again this is the Flower Pot thread!

Just my humble opinion and my :2c:

Nice comparison review there @Alan Partridge im glad you've made one as a u.k member too I really want to get my hands on a flowerpot or should I say the parts required. It's some heavy taxation you've experienced there including shipping your talking over £100 extra on top of the original cost!

Still all things considered you can clearly tell your more than happy with your purchase so worth every penny spent.

the hemp wick we use is made in florida and dipped in beeswax (no glue) and will be sticky at first. There a wonderfull small florida business with cool products. https://www.hempwick.com/

This is how my tray arrived! So this is what you get for the handling fees, nice one for leaving it sitting around in a heatwave for two weeks and charging me for it, thanks Parcel Force!

But after a clean up here it is up and running, sorry for the poor light... yes @anasrzi well worth the expense mate. Although consider the TI if you want flowers only, will work out cheaper for us the other side of the pond

FD4z7eA.jpg

Lastly @NewVape710 have you considered making an all in one dish/carb cap? Would be useful for flowers only.

Do many people actually use the NewVape's box as a duff tray? I don't remember seeing an image of this before, but now I know why I don't use it that way. It looks like a forever mess with ABV all over hell. The duff post should be more in the center than close to the edge. Instead of using the NewVape duff post I use a 'kind ash cache' which I think is much cleaner because it really keeps that ABV from making a huge mess.

It's better since I took that pic as now I've swapped the posts the right way around, they're wrong in the pic!
