The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

Aimless Ryan

Came to read about grinders; fucked combustion
True story.

I'm in my laundry room about a week ago to do laundry. I remove my fishing vest so I can take off my shirt and put it in the washer. From within a fishing vest pocket, out falls my filling aid. It hits the floor and the clear side comes off. I pick it up and put it back together.

Later I realize the clear outer plastic part of the aid part had already come unthreaded inside my pocket, since my pocket is now full of weed. I also realize there's no little clear cylinder part anymore.

I went back to the laundry room to look for the little clear piece of plastic. No luck. Looked for it again another time. No luck. At this point I'm not sure if it's in my laundry room or if it fell out of my pocket outside my home.

While backing my chair into my laundry room to shut the door to the garage the other day, I hear a crunch. It must be the clear plastic cylinder. But I don't see any pieces of broken plastic anywhere (probably because my chair weighs 400 lbs).

The filling aid can be used without that part, but I no longer have much desire to use it that way.

It just occurred to me that maybe I could get S&B to send me or sell me a handful of these little things.

Sometimes to stupid to become a fool
or maybe it's a sign to give the capsules a try if they are manageable - there is a tray for loading a bunch from Ratchett i believe...

@CanadianFlowers what alcohol is that, and where did you get it from? I was searching for 151 baccardi to experiment with tinctures, only to find it's no longer sold in Ontario.. I need some of THAT!

And, Mighty capsule users, get rid of the CU screen. No more sticky capsules with no screen
Interesting. You don't find the cooling unit fills up with herb particles without the screen? Most of the time I'm emptying a capsule, there's particles sticking to the CU screen that got drawn out the capsule.

Speaking of capsules, I've been using capsules exclusively since upgrading to Mighty about 6 months ago... Recently I stopped using the capsules so I could make the true comparison....
IMO, the capsules are great, especially if your always on the go. They kept my device 'cleaner', but your mighty will still get nasty over time without proper care. While the experience with and without caps is very similar, Overall though, there is a difference.
After weeks of testing without the capsule i find the vapor to be a bit smoother, a bit more flavourful, and I can better withstand a few increased degrees during the beginning of my sessions. Naturally, native is messier, but the chamber also hold more herbs leading to longer sessions.... Now that I've dirtied up my mighty I've begun to use it more without capsules. When I'm out though, nothing beats multiple preloaded strains!

Yeah, I think that the capsules add more conduction to the mix, particularly in the last 1/3 of the load. Thanks for the report, @Chandler, and hope you are doing well.

Agreed!
They add (in my opinion) any present conduction to the mix.
Without the capsules it appears to be pure convection... noted by the coolness of the Chamber walls after each "non-capdsule" session.

Glad to see so many enjoying this amazing device. For some reason curiosity got the best of me and am awaiting a grasshopper. Been reading on there and it's nothing like us in this forum. In fact complete opposite. But ya my mighty has been used hard. 8 capsules a day at least. Charged 2 times per day and it's still performing solid. God damn In love with it. Now the new gf (gh ) is coming so I'll let you know how it goes.

Happy as hell that you are enjoying the Mighty...
I love it too!!
As for the grasshopper.... I hope you will continue your discussion of this device at http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-grasshopper.18482/ ... the Grasshopper Thread

Hey, @Bomb33 , hope you get a good-working Hopper. When they are good, they are very, very good, but when they are bad...well, it can be frustrating. Having two makes it easier -- if/when one goes down, there's a backup. But having a Mighty as backup makes for absolutely care-free driving.

I admit that my Mighty use went to less than half once I had two hoppers BUT every return to the Mighty is like falling in love all over again! Rock solid dependable in performance and results, in my book.

Hey just saying that the mighty is as explained like mentioned above by @vapviking. And that the competition got hold of me. Imo I don't think a hopper could take place of the king ol mighty. Just curious. That's all. And I'm going to let other mighty owners who are like me who only have and ever used the mighty know what else is out there. Sorry for sharing @Vitolo. I'll keep my words to a minimum when I do mention it. Oh and did I say that the mighty is the bomb. Can't say it enough. Never let's you down. Only brings you up. And it's even better if you turn it on and put a pinch of herb in it lol

Does anyone know where in this thread are the detailed Mighty cleaning instructions- in particular techniques for getting the bowl clean.
I'm wondering whether leaving an ISO soaked pad in the bowl , plus heating it upto 210 , then using some light scouring pad would get it gleaming again.
I clean my CU weekly and can get them as good as new but can't get the bowl as clean. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

If you're going to try and ISO soak it, please make sure it's upside down when you do! (bowl facing DOWN, so iso can't drip back down).

The easiest way I've heard and tried is using a "Magic Eraser" cleaning pad. You can get them all over in the US, they work on everything but the grey top ring.

I don't have time, but try searching this thread for cleaning, you'll find some great info.

Welcome to FC!

I live on the border of New Brunswick & Quebec. That bottle of alcohol is called 'global 94% alcool' < French for alcohol c; they also make a weaker 72% but we don't need that here lol

Only sold in Quebec ma man, our version of 'Everclear' :)

Can be bought at any SAQ liquor store

Now this is just me, personally....but I would hesitate to use Magic Eraser in an oven I intend to heat afterward and inhale through. I'm not particularly nuts about material safety, but I just hesitate at that.

Also, its an oven...a pipe bowl, if you will....they get a 'patina' with use...ain't dirty, mate! LOL

As said, upside down, q-tip just damp (not soaked so it drips) with high purity ISO, heat up bowl, swap out with q-tip.

Can also try seltzer water on the q-tip (soda water without salt) as carbonation and heat do wonders removing carbon and the like.

Maybe not "The Definitve Guide", but here's some of my suggestions. (Note that a scouring pad can leave fine scratches in the chamber walls, making future cleaning even more difficult.)

Nice composition, @nenmayk !
My Mighty would feel naked without your 2qan device.

Shame about the dead photo links, @Vitolo
Shame on your hosting site.
Would be quite an ordeal changing all those links.

Think most capsule users are Mighty users, so readers may be interested in this tray from @Ratchett
