Traveling with wax pen through Asia safe?

Any problems flying with a wax pen (that looks just like ejuice) through taiwan, thailand, south korea, and japan? anybodies experiences doing so? obviously know herb is a big no-no, wondering how safe or unsafe carrying a wax pen would be.
also theres a THC inhaler that looks just like a regular inhaler, no label or anything. maybe this is a safer route or would one be questioned for a script for the inhaler?

Well, been through that route a couple times. Didn't risk bringing anything as the punishments for getting caught are pretty up there. So... if you are willing to take the risk, I can tell you that I carried a preventative inhaler with me when I travelled, which they didn't look twice at. One thing that was pretty common was to have your carry on bags and luggage completely searched, especially if you look foreign, and they are not cool with batteries, so will probably throw out any sort of e-cig wax pen set up. Whether they understand what it is might also make things go south. These searches of your carry on happen in a lot of the train/subway stations once you are travelling inside the city/country, so be aware of that as well.

Long and short, the inhaler is definitely the best bet, aside from abstaining.

I wouldn't fuck with taking a hash pen international, mush less to Asian countries where there are harsh penalties for possession.

The way to do it is to buy some edibles and mix them in with some other food/candy. Buy the sour gummy edibles (usually 10mg each) and throw them in a bag along with normal candy (sour patch, starburst, etc).

Unless they can be smelled by a dog, detection is basically impossible outside a laboratory.

A friend of mine (Thai national) took candies to Thailand, mixed with normal candies, with no issues.

I'm curious about your comment on batteries. In Beijing they did thoroughly go through my carry-on. They seemed most interested in my computer equipment. They definitely don't like lighters. Have you seen the Chinese confiscate batteries?

If I'm throwing in my two cents, there is absolutely no way in hell that I'd risk it. I've traveled pretty extensively through south-east Asia, particularly Thailand, and you couldn't pay me to take flowers or concentrates through the country, let alone if you have to use airports.

For starters, the penalties are downright medieval level draconian. If you get caught, you will go to jail. Not just any jail, south-east Asia jail. South-east Asia jail is to American jail what hell is to heaven. You will have no legal recourse but to take what you're dealt by a system that wants to make an example out of foreigners.

So how likely are you to actually get caught? A lot more than you would traveling around the US. As others have said, if you look like a western foreigner who is there for travel, then you look like a way to make a quick buck. If you stick to tourist friendly spots then you should be ok, but head out of town and you may as well paint a sign on your head. You will be searched at every available opportunity, not because they suspect you of wrongdoing, but because they suspect that you have money. They want a bribe. If you have nothing on you to get you in trouble then it's probably worth your time to go through the whole routine and insist that you will be seeking legal recourse if they continue to hold you without giving a reason. At least that way it will only cost you your time. Your best bet is to have one of the more expensive local drivers to escort you around, constantly. You are far less likely to be bothered that way.

I was forced to miss a flight out of Thailand (the airline re-booked me for the next one but didn't cover any extra costs incurred by me) because of this. The excuse that they used was that one of the scans of my girlfriends luggage showed what, they claimed, appeared to be a magazine of bullets. It was very, VERY obviously a bracelet. They proceeded very, very slowly in moving towards a solution and gave me multiple hints and opportunities to find some "other way to deal with" the situation. I had been through enough searches at this point to realize what they were doing and that being at an international airport and not at some backwater bus station that if I stuck to my guns they'd have to let me go. Even after opening the luggage and handling the bracelet, they took it and STILL tried to stall as much as they could. I told one of the guys that I'd be there as long as I had to, that I knew they wanted money, and that the longer they made me wait, the closer I was to seeking legal help. That REALLY pissed the guy off and they eventually let us go, but not before our flight left.

If you absolutely HAVE to take something, go with the edibles hidden in a bag of other similar candies or something. As a fellow vaper who cares about others in the community, please, don't risk it.

I've lived and travelled extensively all over South East Asia and still go to Thailand about once a year for a month or so. I would indeed NOT travel with any herb, pens or concentrates. I do usually bring a tincture along tossed in my cosmetic bag in a tincture bottle from the health food store, amongst similar products.
That's as far as I'm willing to take it and yes edibles are fine too. Tinctures are just my personal preference.

@grampa_herb Hey man. Yep, they have taken non compliant lithium ion battery banks from me while travelling through. They also took my hand sanitizer two different times because they didn't recognize it. My guess is they throw out what they don't recognize as familiar. And they also clearly have signs indicating those types of batteries will be confiscated. Maybe some vape pen out there uses different/acceptable batteries? Your call/discretion, but they don't mess around.

Thanks for the info @seaofgreens. Not planning on taking anything illegal, just a Kangertech battery made in China. I wonder if they would consider that non-compliant. I'll be flying through Beijing to Shenyang in a few months. The battery is a gift for a relative I would like to see stop smoking. Are you aware of e-cig shops in Beijing?

People are gonna do what people are gonna do. I know I took risks when I was younger that I would not take today. It's good to warn of the dangers, but if someone is gonna do it then advice like this is good IMHO.

FWIW, one could make Ejuice from said RAW distillate and likely be in even greener grass...
