Hi everyone can someone give me some advice about battery capacity I have seen a few 18650 battery's with 6000mah 3.7v and 20amp drainage compared to the 2500mah Samsung's and 3000mah LG battery's do you folks think these higher capacity battery's would be safe in the alternate assuming the are genuine I think I would get nine to ten sessions on one of these 6000mah battery

Hi,

You cannot get a 6000mah 18650
It will be fake. You must use a genuine high quality high discharge battery. Even if you could get one I doubt very much it will work how you are expecting.

I found this site above useful but I'm sure others will help out with battery selection. Ideally minimum 20A rated and be able to sustain the highest voltage under a 10A. Lots of people and manufactuerers provide graphs with the batteries discharge performance under a sustained load although some are fudged. The cell in the alternate and other vapes like this are also put under extra stress because of the heat they have to operate in and sustained load they require. So it's really important to pick a genuine high discharge capacity battery.

No probs.

I've been using numerous Samsung 25R cells for about 750hrs or more in my crafty. All of them are still fine and although they don't heat up the the alternate as fast as a new one they have been great for back up batteries. I have given my crafternate to a mate with a few of the old 25R batteries and he is enjoying it.. coming from smoking joints for 25 years I'm highly impressed this thing has got him off the nasties for the most part.

anyone have a piece that works really well with this vape? I wanna get a bong that gets really milked up. I have a fab egg and a sterio matrix bong. the stereo matrix really milks up with ice and hot water but I cam't take it to college since its a friends. I might get the CCG seed of life fab egg or the straight fab with seed of life. What works really well with this vape?

After an hour of dremmel work on this cooling unit I finally have a functional Crafternate. I had to do a real hack job on the fins and basically the whole CU. It woukdnt fit at all at first, had to sand down the outside of the main ring, the inside ring, the tops and bottoms and sides of the fins. Seems to fit perfectly now though finally.

Edit: Wow this thing is like a Crafty with more convection.

Volute of Vapor
My version 2 mouthpiece cracked yesterday, no user mistake... just a crack appeared on a side and another small on the exact opposite side right after a session (typically 4mn at 190 and 4mn at 210). Happy the previous owner included the S&B mp so I can continue to use this amazing vape, at 190 with ungrounded flowers the taste is outstanding!

Please @Vivant could you pm how to order a new V3 mp (I prefer the look of your mp to the Crafty one!)? Thanks

If I'm not mistaken (and I might very well be) they're still working on the v3.
Would be interesting to know the time-frame for its release.
I still think I'll buy the Crafty topcap in the near future because everyone seems to swear by it. I've not been using my Alternate at all because v2 is not working properly, I don't know what's the matter but I can't seem to pull vapor like I did with my v1 - before it melted, that is. Maybe it's not properly airtight.

Hey there,

Unfortunately the v3 MP is not ready yet .... @Vivant said it will be available in 2-3 weeks :\ and of course hard to find those new Mouthpiece for sell (alone) even more in Europe ...:2c:

Again, @Vivant where can we find those new Mouthpiece (v3) for sale in Europe when available, like Vapefiend or another authorized retailers ?

2 weeks ago Vivant said that the V3 caps would take 3-4 weeks.

If this correct expect them in 1-2 weeks.

Hello everyone got my alternate on Friday two cracked top caps already and I have the unit locked to 190 and use flowers only. Hopefully these guys get the new top cap out soon as for me it's really putting a black mark on an otherwise fantastic vape. I would like to go the crafty MOD route but it just seems like to much cost and hassle that we shouldn't need to go through.

5 bowls for a total of 10 at 380 then 395 at 3 minutes each sesh. No cracks yet. Had a slight plastic taste to it so chose to put it away for a few days to see if it makes a difference.

The more I use the Alternate the more I like it. It is imo every bit as good as a crafty and then some. I bet if it was a more well known company that came out with this thing it would be one of the most popular vapes there is.

Low temp flavor is extremely tasty and the clouds it can produce are huge. I usually get about 3 or 4 bowls per session depending on temp and battery, which is comparable to the Crafty plus you can just swap the battery out in the Alternate and keep going. Still no problems with my V2 cooling unit after many high temp sessions.

High temps? For example?

TIA!

.
For example 410-420 for a full 5 min session.

Does anyone else's unit get warm at the very bottom? Not hot at all, but a little warm?

edit: It cracked. After my ~10th bowl at 410 for 5 minutes it now has ~4 hairline cracks. Glad I already made my crafty mod.

double edit: Big crack in the actual cooling unit too.

Just occurred to me - and has probably already been written about - but do top cap cracks make that much of a difference in performance? Sorry if this is an obvious question that has already been addressed.

my dhgate alternate is still going strong and even the original mouthpiece works fine still. Just what's really wierd is that after removing the green flap I never had to clean it again. Sees fairly much use, 220° through glass is better than expected

My vape still has its base room temperature at around 240. and when it heats up it seems to just start from there so when i set it to 428 it really doesn't seem like it. Any fixes to this? I tried updating the firmware and it is still messed up.

Low temps with this thing are absolutely incredible. I vaped a bowl on 340 earlier and got some of the best tasting vapor I've ever experienced.

What a dissapointment, mine is showing Trouble Code 2 when heating up and then the heating stops when reaching approx 160F. I have the latest firmware and only used the alternate for like 15 sessions including the initial burn offs! As i bought through DHgate I have myself to blame for not having the option to get a replacement (even if i could I wouldn't spend the time waiting and paying the return shippment). Guess i will change track now and look for a completely different vape as a replacement. It has been an entertaining journey following this thread and testing the product but my story ends here...

PS. Have any of you guys had problems with trouble codes? Can you repare it yourself?

Hopefully a simple question-
does this device remember your last used temp? or do you have to set the temp everytime you switch it on?
