I don't see that, but believe it (where are you looking?). But, I did recently notice that they no longer have a Facebook page and no longer seem to have twitter or instagram feeds either (can't confirm that as I don't use them, but the links to those services no longer exist on the VXL (XHL?) website.

They also removed all their previous published Tips of The Week and have published no explanation for any of these changes as far as I can tell.

Anyone know what's up?

/jd

When you first enter their website it looks normal. But go down to the bottom and click on warranty. It says XHL throughout all the information and even the logo in the top left hand corner changes to XHL as well.

i didn't know about their social media. So yeah if anyone knows what happened that'd be really interesting.

Yes, I see that now. I also notice that the new logo leads to a new (duplicate for now) website address: https://www.xhl3.com . Hmmm...."xhl3"...why "xhl" and why "3" and does that mean something new is in the works?

Hope they announce something soon!

The process of fixing an evo seems tedious...
Glad I got a brand new spare...
Just incase...
Do I need a flowerpot...???

The thought of selling the spare evo to justify the newvape, has crossed my mind....
As the world becomes more CIVILIZED the prices will drop.

To have my EVO back next Friday is making life worth living!

My PORTABLES are getting me by.
However the EVO will be like SURFING "HUGE" waves!

Saw the movie: WONDER WOMAN today.

@kellya86 see it?
Take your wife! (She'll love it!)

FLOWER POT is later for me.

EVO back in my GARDEN SOON!
We live outside right now!
One of My Friend's in FRANCE. (yes I have friend's!)
His family own's a few vindyards (GRAND CRU CAB'S)
CALIFORNIA as very nice wines! (Don't tell anyone?)

If they really rebranded and going to change the logo on the enclosure moulds, imo they shouldn't forget to add vent holes on the bottom. That is one thing about the enclose that i think they got a little wrong. Even when theres no heater in the bottom half, sme heat can get there, and the electronics should be ventilated. Otherwise this is waht I think is leading to the root fart smell from the bottom sometimes (especially when inverted).

Iv never any robot fart from my evo...
And I'm very sensitive to this stuff...
Granted I never really invert it though...

But under normal use, the bottom of my evo stays very cool....
And as the airpath is properly isolated anyway, im really not concerned at all...
It has vents at the top, and thats the direction that any of the potential warmed up nasties will be heading.... right...???

How much do we know about the internals of the evo..???
As the airpath is fully isolated, does this mean they went cheap on other materials and components within...???

Like how arizer use lead free solder and med safe materials, as they know that air will be drawn over these parts...
Is the inside of an evo toxic...???

Can any beta team answer this...
@t-dub ???

@kellya86 if you search in this thread you'll find all the info you need, including comments by StoneMonkey himself. He actually drilled a hole in the bottom of his due to the smell and was considering changing the design so there was a vented hole. It's only an issue when inverted though, and kinda leaving it on there.

Even if its an issue that happens to few units/few people on rare occasions/incorrect usage it's still easily solvable if they change the moulds.
So I'm saying if they are going to change them, they shouldn't forget about this detail to make it the mostperfect unit it can be.
No problems is better than rare problems with smell.

I think the bamboo restriction was influenced just by chance. All bamboos (OG cloud and all EVO versions) had the same number of restrictions, only varied in their positions.
The originals were all at the top. First EVO had all of them at the bottom and then evolved into half at the top and half at the bottom.
Since the same number for all bamboos, the resulting air restriction would only be influenced by their random size.
They have stated they've increased the precision on these restirction on the EVO, so it might be less varied.

Well I did some reading...
The evo pcb meets industry standards...
And testing has been done, and improvements made over time... like sealing the base better so as not to draw internal air up into the bamboo...

And even when inverted for a long time, there should be no actual off gassing, just a harmless smell...???

Still dont know if they used lead free solder, probably not... but that shouldn't be an issue with the conditions it's subjected to anyway...

Is the inside of an evo toxic...???
No its not. The Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) is medical grade. The electronics bay holds the circuit board, with a few wires, and there is a divider between that and the heater bay. The bamboo ensures that the air path is all glass and nothing that you are inhaling goes over the electronics. The insulation in the heater bay is benign.

It's been several months since I sold my new EVO, and that bottom seam was definitely not completely sealed. And my biggest problem stemmed from the plastic sheathing on the wire being too close to the bamboo, and touching it when I inverted, but that was over a year ago, perhaps changes were made or I just had a bad one, but I also had a Cloud+ that I could smell the solder on when inverted, so who knows. Just seems to me that it's best to use it not inverted and with HT's.

Wonder if those rumours of digital EVO are true?

Or a portable from VXL XHL? :brow:

Herb gardener...
@t-dub thanks for clearing that up....
And I really really like that picture....
Looks like it's quite easily possible to change the led colours....???

@biohacker on page 146 I think, sm55 says they have redesigned it so it's better sealed...
Not completely sealed...

Seems like it would have been an easy fix to keep the wires off the bamboo....

Iv never had any smell issue at all, so I'm completely satisfied on this matter...
Gotta be inquisitive though....

As for a digital evo.... I personally wouldn't be too excited about that...
Much the same reason I haven't bought a solo 2....

A vxl/hxl portable however...
Id be all over that...
There is a space in my vape arsenal for a battery portable, but nothing is good enough for me yet....
Portables are lame right @ataxian...
Far from civilised still...
Firefly 2 is close.... but still miles off...

Not sure if the tech exists to please me yet...

I love my EVO. I just used it last night with some shatter it was some Blueberry Indica. I noticed a new smell with the EVO at first but it didn't bother me. I've had mine a year since last April. I always recommend it when folks that are looking for a home hard hitter. It's a nice set up with one of the water tools that are mated for the EVO, I have the HydraBomb. IMO it's a sturdy well made vaporizer.

I don't worry about problems that vaporizer companies have early on in the beginning. The good companies get things eventually worked out. Those that don't often go out of business.

The only thing I worry about is the bamboo glass. I'm paranoid that I could drop it or it could slide off the table. Maybe it would withstand a fall? I don't want to find out.
Have a happy 4th of July tomorrow for those in the states.

I read that is best to use the EVO not inverted. Then I read it was OK. I've never experienced any off gassing.

@CarolKing I use my EVO with 3 different HYDRO-TUBES + I am guilty of inverting it.

Use whatever you have.

I've use a few conventional WP's with no adverse effects?

I get mine back tomorrow! (life is worth living)

No word on the other vap sent in?

EVO is the best so far!

First I painted my EVO PINK.
Having so many people freak out I painted It a off- white.

To me color has no GENDER?

Today my EVO will be in full use regardless of the color.

I have a portable (pax like?) good for two hit's. $40 buck's
Personally a portable doesn't fix my life and my normal one died this morning?

All my plug-in's I will give as a donation.

The EVO I will keep.
My LOG that I used never came back from repair? (I wrote it off?)
VAPE X HALE has good service!
I went back to combustion (NASTY) however couldn't handle the HARSHNESS.
Today life is worth living = CIVILIZED

What's shipping like if I buy new? Debating the basic deal while it's 20% off or the super deal they have with all the nails and the skin but I'm assuming without a hydratube I'll get my vape sooner? I keep missing out on the used ones when I go Mia lol
