You guys are spoilt ! man iam jealous, i live in the uk and this is real hard to find and the prices are sky high. We have plenty of fine herbs but a massive lack of oils etc. Hopefully this will change sooner rather than later.

Dont get jealous... get even...

Im in the UK too and I refuse feel hard done by...
If you can get herbs, you can have concentrates.... just gain the knowledge and equipment....

Iv been making very nice iso/bho oil for a while now....
And have just began squishing rosin....
And I'm only using straighteners at the moment till I build my squish press...
But getting tasty results with good yield...
Rosin... 0.08 from 0.39....

Iso extraction...

No excuse my friend...
Iso/butane/vac pump/parchmant paper/straighteners...
All these things are relatively cheap....
And knowledge is free.....
Get learning...

I Hope you don't use parchment paper with silicone on it, that would not be good
Other then that you are completely right, I'm too in a place where these things are looked very badly at, and I smoke some very great shatter every month.
And with rosin it's soo simple too have tasty oil (not saying it can't be difficult to make the best rosin, cause it can)

silicon can swell in contact with butane and get in your finnished pruduct. Oil slick found their customers to use the dab pad for extractions, so they started testing how they react when they come in contact with the gas, and found the silicone to be swelling.
Because of this they started warning people from doing this, and later they launched a new pad witch had a smaller chance of conterminating the oil. The type of parchmen paper you buy to use in the oven is coated with silicone, so when using this for extractions there is a chance of the silicone to get in the oil, and nobody would want to smoke silicone

As I understand it there are two kinds of parchment paper, quilon coated or silicone coated with silicone the preferred option. Quilon is the worse choice, and I've read its component of chrome.

I use oil slick paper with a thick coating of silicone for rosin pressing. No problems. If this isn't appropriate, I'd sure like to know. Links please.

Another reason to not use butane. Rosin simply doesn't have solvents.

A little attention is all that is needed to not scrape paper/ silicone into rosin. Either that, or buy it from a tested dispensary. A dispensary that btw probably used silicone impregnated paper, lol.

Meds for the month, trying out some distillate too.

uUKKOCA.jpg

Apparently this Raw Distillate is a hybrid, no terps added back in. The only other option they had was GDP which does have terps, but I'm straying from broad leaf cultivars now a days. Hoping they get some good narrow leaf in distillate on the next harvest.

As someone outside of any med states I was hoping you could explain the difference between broad and narrow leaf?

^^ feeling like pavlov's dog over here! What size is that ball?
This one is modest, about 2.5g - that shot was taken at ~50x zoom. It is a beautiful, beautiful temple ball. The first run 73u collections are likely to be even better still :D

I explained how to do it too...
How much heat...
And what parchment paper to use....

He decided to listen to none of it....

Hahahaha. Nice notebook paper.

On a side note: how are using the vapcap with the rosin? Just curious the best method to save flavor and be as least wasteful of the rosin as possible.

I will normally choose to use the evo nail, rather than the vapcap...
But when i was in colorado my vapcap performed brilliantly with concentrates...

I use a gen4 tip set to smallest, lay a bed of herb, then my blob of gooey gooodness..
Heat for a couple seconds past the click on a high temp heat up..
