Arizer Solo II

legally required similar labeling in French?
In America we have signs like
"1ft deep, no diving" or "don't toss matches on floor when pumping gas" or ...

Edit: just tried to see how fat of a greens rip I could get dry at 400. It was pretty ridiculous. I got a video but it's not that great, just some vapor basically blocking out a light but no nice stream of vapor or anything lol

Bought the Arizer Solo 2 water adapter (from Arizer) and have been using it for a week. Very tight fit.

Put in the dry stock stems and now they are really wobbly like the OG Solo1. Now it wobbles and the air current changes as it wobbles making inconsistent vapor. This is what I hated so much about the Solo1.

I'm going to try and get a warranty started tomorrow.

tl:dr OEM water adapter damaged the fitting.

Bad news :(

Bought the Arizer Solo 2 water adapter (from Arizer) and have been using it for a week. Very tight fit.

Put in the stock stems and now they are really wobbly like the OG Solo1. Now it behaves like the Solo1 in that it wobbles and the air currently changes as it wobbles making inconsistent vapor. This is what I hated so much about the Solo1.

I highly doubt the water adapter did that. If anything your glass stems got messed up somehow and don't seal like they should anymore. I'd be looking into replacing those before the unit. Happened with my Air too.

I used a GonG from PlanetVape made for the Solo OG last night with the D020 bubbler that I have and the GonG worked fine and it didn't do anything to the Solo 2. In fact I had the Solo at 390 degrees without too much heat and harshness with plenty of vapor clouds.

I also used a GonG the other day with my j hook too, no problems to report.

I think that's a good idea to start a warranty. I was curious over time if the stem would get loose. It's odd that it would be right after using the GonG and so quickly.

Hate to say it... BUT I totally predicted this (earlier in this thread) as so many people have had similar issues with both Solo I and Air. My Solo II has also started to get some wobbling as well. Hey @OF, will you now assist others and I seriously look for ways to fix this issue (even if you still think it is not an issue)? I wonder if we could still use the Orange O-Rings.

My stems wobble a bit but they still make a seal with the orings. I think that's how it's designed?? :hmm::shrug:

Many will say it is normal while many others (including myself) will either say it isn't or we don't care whether it is or not... Those like me want to change it regardless of whether it is fixing an issue or suiting our desires.

No, as I explained in PM. Same answer, same reasons. It's not a fault or flaw, it's part of the design.

If you think it's a problem I suggest you either get Arizer to agree with you (warranty claim) and make it better for everyone or figure out your own fix.

Many complained Air was too tight, and it prevented stem tipping because of the 3 ribs. Perhaps that's a better choice?

I have no complaints about Solo 2. No toxic fumes from the electronics to be sealed off, no too loose/tight stem design problems to fix. I think Arizer has another hit, as might be expected. IMO they know their business quite well.

You have the same sportmanship from the past :p I love Arizer products and bought the Solo II despite expecting what has occurred and also becoming a little disappointed. I still like the vaporizer! I do not necessarily think Arizer needs to make any changes even if I don't like the stems wobbling and falling out.

However, I don't think us forum members should ignore assisting one another whether it is helping them fix an issue or satisfy a desire. We can help each other in ways besides referring them to people outside the forum! I mentioned you @OF because I know you could help us but I see that you simply choose not to. :(

As long as we're being so honest here, I think it's incredibly presumptions of you (or anyone else) to infer it's my duty or I'm somehow obligated to do things for you because I can (at least potentially).

Especially if I'm on record as not wishing to do so. This is a Forum for discussing ideas, I've given mine on the subject I think.

And if you take offense at my suggesting trying warranty with Arizer (convincing them it's a fault), I'll be happy to stop trying to help at all? Otherwise, if you come to the Forum asking help and advice, hopefully that's what you get from volunteers, you get to decide to accept it or not?

@OF, I stated we can agree to disagree so there are no presumptions nor did I infer it was your duty to assist others. That doesn’t mean I can’t be bummed that you choose not to help, which BTW you did NOT say via PM which is part of the reason I requested your help in this thread. On a side-note, we shouldn’t be discussing our PMs in this thread. Look back in this thread and you will see that I have already been in contact with Arizer regarding the fitting of stems and warranty claims. Finally, I requested help from you specifically as I know (from your previous posts) that you could be of great assistance as I have seen your assistance and even personally been assisted by you in the past. My comments about FC’s forum members interacting with one another is just that… MY opinion. I do believe such opinions (correct me if I am wrong) can be included and also help provide FC support. There has been a lot of negative comments about FC in other forums recently :( Regardless man, I think it is a great time for both of us to put the Solo II into more activity!

Sorry to fail you so. I used to be more responsive, but I'm retired now....you get to pick your own projects but there's no pay in it. Life is full of compromises I guess.

Sorry to confuse, but some days are just more confusing than others I guess. 'least seems so to me.

BTW, overall I really recommend retirement....... Better than that other thing.

I'm guessing they couldn't fit the word 'ouvrir' across the tab. :)

A quick update to my 'Error 7' issue. I received the following email from Amy of Arizer today:

"Thank you for your email.

I am very sorry to hear you have experienced this issue with your new Solo II unit. I will determine the best way for you to resolve this issue quickly.

Please provide me with / confirm the following information:

  • The output power specifications listed on the charger
  • The colour of your Solo II unit

Once I receive this information I can advise you further!"

I'm hoping I'll get a quick replacement if/when I have to send it back. Dreams are free.

I have a guess as to what happened but will refrain from sharing until I get some information back from Arizer.

I first used my PVHES stem that I bought for my original Solo. It definitely has a slightly wider diameter than the stock stems and was a tight fit. My stock Solo II stems are a bit loose.

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day weekend. My Dad is out testing the full face snorkel mask that I got him. Swim Dad...SWIM!!! He's getting water wings next year...

Interesting question.....I can see how an Air charger (five Volts), which has basically the same plug, could be a problem for sure for Solo 2 looking for 12. You have to wonder if they're asking for a reason (like they've had that problem) or just being professional about it. Perhaps they accidentally shipped some or have already had customers that got confused?

You may well be right about the French. I'm not even sure I recall enough of it to get my face slapped.

Please do keep us posted of any firm information you can pass on, I'm sure I'm not the only one interested.

TIA

You can count on it, OF.

Here is what is listed on my charger:

Model: SW-120150
Input: 100-240V – 50/60Hz
Output: 12V == 1.5A

Thanks. That matches mine. I think the rub is the Voltage, although I haven't tried it, I suspect the original Solo charger works fine, is just slower by about 35%. Air, OTOH, isn't gonna cut it?

Thanks again, we'll standby for follow up information then. Good luck on a swift and successful solution.

I finally decided not to invest in a solol2 and stick with my OG. The difference is not too much and i have soo much stuff fore the OG.

Makes perfect sense to me. No way you can consider a Solo I owner to not be well equipped vapewise? You really need to have the desire to check it out (and can afford the costs of course) to make buying a Solo 2 seem reasonable in such cases. Some guys 'need' the latest, some have to have have maximum possible battery life, some highly value the fine points of draw restriction and stem grip and so on of course. They are surely welcome to buy a Solo 2 if they think that's good for them, but having a Solo I means it's not really necessary in the usual sense?

If some astounding reason to buy in comes up you can count of this bunch to clue you in. We seem to be no more successful keeping secrets than those guys in DC.......

Your call, sounds to me like you made an reasoned, informed one to your personal advantage. I like that. IMO it's what the Forum is for.

Thanks for the word.

My pleasure. This forum has been very good to me.

And I know Arizer will make things right. My Extreme EQ is still going strong and a new battery will revive my original Solo...both are great products in my humble opinion.

Total newb here. Thank you for posting this, this is the only thread or info on the web that I can find with the 'Error 7' issue. I just had this occur today and am very bummed as I just bought my solo II last week. Outside of this issue, the solo II has been amazing. I started the warranty process and am waiting to hear back. Please keep updates going, would love to hear any resolution that you come to with Arizer. Hope we can both get our Solo IIs back up and running quickly!
