Arizer Solo II

Loving my Solo 2 so far. It's way better than the Solo or Air which I've owned before. Airflow is a lot better, heats up super quick and gives big hits. I hooked it up to my cloud evo hydratube and set it to 220C and it milked it like crazy and the heater kept up with pretty fast hits. Maybe I'll post a video later. I think I like it more than my mighty so far because it has better flavor and gives similar size hits.

Yup, it does a fine job milking my bong as well, airflow is really nice with Solo 2 as is the taste. I put my Mighty into retirement after getting the Solo 2. Enjoy brother!

Unfortunately the 14mm gong that Planetvape sent me doesn't fit no matter what I do. The Arizer stems and the 18mm gong from Planetvape all fit perfect so I may have gotten a defective gong. I've tried it warm and cold and the gong will not go in fully.

I just noticed this on the fancy glass stem I got from Ed, an otherwise very nice '3D Flow Booster glass stem'. It has a LOT of taper to it. That is it's mouth is smaller than the bowl further up, sort of 'cork shaped'. I measure .012 taper on one axis, .015 on the other (it's a bit out of round). Works fine on my Solo Is, but on Air it 'barely bottoms out' when hot and if not removed while still hot it sticks too tight to pull (without fear of breaking.....not good in your hand....). I assume Solo II will be the same as Air?

Anyway the taper here is big enough to feel in your finger tips, you can even see it in good light. Is that what you have?

TIA

are there any cheap water adapters around? Im not really feeling like spending another $30 at sneaky petes

Sure, better still the plastic topped (60 and 70mm) stems sold for Air fit Solo just fine and are shaped to mate up with 14mm GonGs. For ten bucks you can get both an adapter to play with and a very useful stem in it's own right. Many of us like using them on Solo anyway.....

This GonG works good for me

This is how I feel after killing a stem on the Solo 2

I just received mine and I agree it's a huge upgrade (air flow, size, battery, digital display, heat up time, ease of use). I preferred the IQ to the Solo1 but definitely prefer the Solo2 to both! The LCD screen won't be shiny and new it comes all scratched and scratches easily but I guess it's a work horse vape after all. You'll get over it quickly. Solo1 was collecting dust and now the Solo2 is my main.

It rips like a beast. I was lusting for the Mighty but this has cured that with the dense effortless vapor, even at 380F. Makes it really fun to use. The simplicity and reliability is a huge plus.

The color is more like a blurple in person. I thought it was purple when I pulled it out but I would consider it a blue-purple. I really like it though. Battery lasts forever. The bowl size is perfect. Comes with container that keeps the glass stem safe and allows you to pre-load herb. Travel case fits the solo2 and 2 stems but it's very small and minimalist. Overall highly recommend.

Pull the sticker off and it will become shiny

Thanks, my last order from McMaster I made the mistake of ordering 5/8, going to see if I can return them.

I've returned a few items over the years, but none lately. No problems at all, except getting to the PO so I could mail the wrong parts back. You can also cut a cardboard shim (like a strip off a 3X5 file card) rolled up and inserted first. You can use several width strips, including ones that stick out from the caps, and also fiddle them so they taper and the hole for the stem gets a bit of taper to make it easier to slip on.

Please don't ask me how I know about that?

After a few days of use, here are some observations.

  • Heats up very fast
  • Arizer solved the O-ring problem. New fit is very snug
  • Display area scratches easily
  • Vaped material is sticking to the bottom of the bowl. Hope this stops after some uses.
  • Nice size reduction compared to the Solo OG
Overall very pleased with the performance and smaller size.

Mine actually came with a visible green tab to pull the screen protector off so maybe Arizer made a change and added that.

I'm also having the same problem with material sticking to the bottom of the bowl.

Tried to microdose the ed stem by pushing the screen up and packing inside. No herb touched the glass ... was only in the screen. Think it's a tad more convection this way. It ... worked ... but flavor was very off. Maybe I gotta clean my heater off ... or maybe it being in the screen just robbed all the flavor. Either way .. wasn't enjoyable. Harsher too.

Wish this stem didn't have the screen basket style because I don't like part of my herb inside a basket screen with the Solo 2...I want the herb only being heated by glass...dome style was too hard to place in the stem. Hmmmmm

@swieder711 The Ed's stem by @Ed's TnT is different than the stems that come stock with the Solo 2. Ed's stem is a basket type screen. The pic above by @AJS. That is the 3D Booster. It being as short as it is I didn't notice any cooling of the vapor in the Solo OG of mine. I have the Atomic airflow Booster stem that isnt the 3D and its longer. It cools the vapor.

This is the Atomic Flow Booster from @Ed's TnT this uses a basket screen as well. This works better to cool the vapor. The 3D Booster is too short IMO to do much cooling. It's a beautiful piece though. Probably use a lower temperature with the shorter 3D Booster.

Man ... I shoulda gotten that one. I wanted cooler vapor but didn't realize how short this thing was. Damn. Maybe I'll sell ... but the flavor is absolutely amazing and the vapor is cool under a certain temp. Damn. Choices choices.

Hi Carol, that a nice stem, do you prefer it over the bent stems? Unfortunately Ed has been out of stock with this stem.

Seeking My Shangri-La
Hi, everyone. Haven't been on the site for quite some time but wanted to post that I ordered a Solo II yesterday after reading through this thread. Thank you for the great information.

Just one question: At the highest temperature, is it possible to get your ABV dark brown? I like to milk everything I can out of my goodies. :)

Are people putting screens in the bottom of the bowl?

I use a screen on the bottom of the heater to cover the 4 intake holes, also use a small screen on the stem so that I don't inhale any herb particles. I perfer a coarser grind with the solo 2.

Yes, I get a dark brown ABV from 405F - 410F but haven't gone hotter that.. so yes absolutely get dark brown AVB. Check out AJS's post on page 42 of this thread
