What's your favorite torch or lighter to use with the Vapcap?

I found these single flame torches at a store named Dollar General. They cost $2.50 each and work great.

I've been using them over my three flame torch and love them! They have a see through tank, easy adjustment on front and fire up every single time.

As a bonus, the little chain sticks to my dynastash magnet for easy carrying

Been using these lately too . I have one that works great and one that the striker fires the wron direction a lot . It still heats the cap nicely when it strikes properly . For the cost , these are great !!!

That cheap twin flame that goes by many brand names. $8 at my local shop and its all I need, lid opens automatically when you click it, Dynamagnet on the lid is so damn functional. Works great for using the cap digger outer to stir between cycles if you're into that. I think i'll go pick up a few more

This is my favorite triple, the brand name is HongJing and they can be found on aliexpress/dhgate for cheap.

I go back and forth between this and my Eagle single jets. My complaint with the triple is the fuel tank is small and I can never get it turned down low enough to the point it works without sputtering without having a big flame, thus draining the tank fast. I have 4x Eagle singles and some of them on the lowest setting are too hot; my biggest issue with the Vapcap has been finding the perfect lighter.

I use the triples exclusively outdoor or when I'm in a hurry to have quicker heating times so I always leave them at the max setting but I agree about them eating gas like crazy.

Nothing beats the control of a single flamer .

This. At home I only use singles as IMHO they work the best. My all time favorite that I use for my Vapman and my Lotus as well is the honest:

You can find it for a few bucks from aliexpress/dhgate as the Hongjing one.

I've been using the triple vertigo, but have just received a Chinese Cohiba in the mail. Obviously with lighters problems only really become apparent with extended usage, but I've got to say I'm impressed. Well made & flame turns from blue to pink over a few seconds, which pleases my simple mind :-)

Even though I've got a portside coming to compliment my jarhead, I still like the pocketability of a lighter sometimes. I learned how to use my first vapcap with one of those larger single-flame eagles, so when I first tried a triangular triple jet I combusted. Twice! My preference ended up being for a double or even an inline triple jet torch running low. I prefer honest and eagle torches, they've always been nice, simple brands that get the job done. I also have a few other more expensive jet flame lighters laying around.

But this guy has proven to the best for me with my vapcaps, and it's quite affordable. The tank is see-through, it's seems reliable so far, and the cap has a chain instead of a hinge so it stays out of the way of whatever heating technique I'm using. Best of all (for me) it's very easy to fill, and easy to adjust.

It doesn't seem to have a brand in the listing ($5.55 shipped) but sports this "xxjng" logo upon arrival.

Highly recommended :tup::tup:

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
The local cigar shop and another place have many of the Jetline lighter variations and clones. Plus the guy rec'd and sold me some Comoy's Platinum Butane. He mentioned something about it not having certain chemicals required by the US in their butane as a thing. I will try to find the rating for it somewhere and delve into the subject of additives and local requirements later. I did spot a few other premium butanes elsewhere also. Glad I don't have to get everything from Ebay.:D

Now I have several butanes and several old single use lighters to finish off.

Eagle single torch windproof cap. 5 pack. Will see how well they work with the Comey's.

Jetline twin. One aside first. There is so many variations that use the same bodies with different torches to comment on. There seems to be a mix and match with it and other lighter companies.
It is one of the barrel shaped, not the grenade shape. So more volume or best use of volume. Plus it can be lanyard-ed. Great for hikers and who need that reassurance.

Already like action of the lid that opens when turn on the torch. I found out the mirror is for cigar smokers who snuff and relight their cigars. It does help me with the visual of heating the back of the Vapcap knowing that. :D
Also the stealth factor of what is walking up behind you. ;)

This is a pic of the TRIPLE torch. I have a DUEL torch that looks similar to this. The midsection being different. Going back the mix and match comment I made earlier..

Vertigo Triple from Vapcap on 4/20. Good time to buy it. But I put the cheap butane in it. Trying to purge it with the Comey's. Then it will be my fastest ceanest Vapcap reheater. :science:
Jetline twin

Can anybody rec'd a single or twin lighter that can reheat click to click for longer duration? Or any rugged ones that work well in humid conditions?

Hey VapCapManiacs!

Was looking to join the family soon and saw this recently:
https://www.plazmatic.com/collections/plazmatic-x

Would that work with the VC or you guys/gals think there'd be any problem with the cap?
I like the fact that it actually has no gas! IMO If we want to FC I think all kinds of C should be F'd. My main gripe with butane has always been the combustion aspect of it (that & me being clumsy with scolding items  when medicated, what can go wrong?). Ok, 50 charges is a bit limited, but at least it can travel by plane & be a good alternative when gas isn't an option for whatever reason?

EDIT: Apologies for the sudden silence in the thread :goon:, just realised I put NO and GAS together in the same sentence, one after the other...:dog:

Pretty sure someone in the regular VC thread reported on trying one of these (or similar electric lighter) and it didn't work with VCs. Wish it did!!

After a quick look at a vid on YouTube, looks like it needs something to ignite to function. I did see a vid someone lighting a bong load, but even that looked kind of tricky.

The beauty of the Vapcap is that:

- It has a temperature regulating cap that fits over your herb chamber. You heat the cap until it clicks and the temperature is determined by WHERE you apply heat. If you stop eating at the click, you will not combust.

- You heat to the click, THEN toke. Only pure fresh heated air and vapor comes through the airpath. No lighter residue of any kind.

- Just about any heat source will heat your Vapcap. From a candle to a bic lighter, jet lighter, campfire stick, stove element etc. But if you don't like playing with fire you can always use @Pipes famous induction heater. You place the Vapcap in a glass tube and remove it when it clicks. Easy peasy. Models are available that use a power cord or rechargeable batteries.

What a shame, could have been a very practical bit of kit. Lets hope they perfection it past the 'sensible idea' stage.

@Squiby Thanks for chiming in!
I must confess I'm a hippy at heart so wanted to eliminate as much (even gas) combustion :worms: as possible, although I still planned for a couple of reliable torches of course, nobody's too careful and that x50 use limit did bug me a little, since gas still grants more autonomy, and power, as I've just been informed.

Having said this, I did order a VC to have all (heating) angles covered!

You're on the money, was just giving the eye to Pipes' induction heater a few days ago, since I first saw it and it has evolved a little. Really looks neat and very handy! Thanks for pointing it out though. I'll place an order as soon as my Omni gets here.

Me too. ^^^^^

My single jet cylinder lighter fits in the Dynastash herb compartment with a bit of sanding. It also fits in the Vapcap Pouch perfectly.

The multiple jet lighters are just a bit to bulky for my liking. So although a quad may seem easier to reach a click out in the wind, the carrying convenience of a single cylinder jet lighter trumps.

Since I'm tired of my big torch, yesterday I was searching for something pocket-size, efficient, possibly with visible butane tank... and I finally ordered this one

sku_1319_1.jpg

The orientation of these jets seems perfect for ignite a VapCap, no?
Please let us know how well it works!
Well it has a month of use now and I like it a lot. Pros: very small, nice double flame width. Cons: Intermittent if the flame is set too low, somewhat painful to fill completely.

Someone on this? Maybe the smallest & most beautiful I've found. Single flamed.

Yes I know... It's nice but it's small... needs continuous recharge... has not a visible tank... but since the "M" served as a vaccine for my VAS... I think I can put 50 coins to collect a dozen fancy lighters no?! OH YEAH.

A related question, specially for @GreenHopper since I've discovered he's an authority in the field! I've found somewhat difficult to found high quality butane in my local stores... so I ended up ordering some cans of "black leaf"... yes it's too late, but how do you think it is?

I don't know man, I've never used "black leaf" and can't find any details from a basic Google.

The manufacturer claims "near zero impurities" so I'd assume it's going to be fine for use with lighters.

Sorry, can't really offer much in the way of details on specific butane brands.

The resource I created was just a collection of posts from all over FC, the internet and SkunkPharmResearch. If the brand isn't in that resource chart then I won't know about their butane quality.

I'm no expert, I'm just good at collation.

Good luck
