I seem to get so many mixed results with using the Herby and concentrates

So, we need to solve this right here and right now!

i think everyone interested should do some extra experimenting and report back here so we can finally discover the secret technique!

1 or 2 aroma pads

Oil only or Oil+flower combo

Fan or no fan assist

Bag, Whip, or Steamroller

Temperature

Inhalation speed

Size of dose

  • 1 aroma pad (the aroma pad floats as it vapes, and prevents conact/running of concentrates.)
  • Wax is best, but a tiny drip of oil works too (less than an eyedropper drop)
  • Fan assist
  • whip
  • The very top temperature
  • breath easy.... at the speed of the fan
  • with wax:1/4 of a dab (a quarter of a small pea) with oil about 1/2 eyedropper drip

So I got the bong/hydratube I ordered: http://www.dhgate.com/store/product...es-25cm-tall-vapexhale/388645300.html#ctabBox

I've been using the hydratube dry with Herbie, along with the MiniVAP Flexicone setup and just the bottom of Herbie's bowl.

I haven't gotten the Delta 3D Studios SONG 2 adapter yet, but the seal isn't as good as I'd like right now. Is there anything I can do about that? Will the SONG 2 adapter solve this issue?

The bong's product page says the joint is 19mm, so that's the diameter of the hydratube's bottom opening, correct?

Thanks.

I find Chinese glass hydratubes to be notorious for the entry port being "an issue" as it is often too recessed to get a good seal on may vapes/techniques;

His Song V2 is designed to work on the complete chamber (bottom AND top). Its sidewall is a little long on just the bottom chamber so it snaps on but the Flexi is left dangling slightly above the bottom chamber. His V1 song has shorter sides and I think it doesn't have a completely firm grip over the lower chamber, from my memory of it.

Are you handy with a knife? The best bet is probably the V2 with a slightly shortened sides, to be "in between" size. I suggested a V3 for this use but that was months ago and its a limited demand item. From memory I think I suggested it be 2/3 of the size of the V2 sidewall. Maybe he could cut it down more professionally or you DIY if you are handy with a blade. Or maybe he could mold an "in betweener"?

The Flexicone direct connection to a HT needs a good entry port. Ratchett also has a small silicone adapter that helps.

It would slip over the Flexicone (but it does not snap on firmly) and give a secure HT connection. You do have to manually keep it aligned/keep it sitting on the Flexi properly. It's cheap and handy for other connections---

Thanks, I just emailed Mike to add the reducer on to my order. I don't know about cutting the SONG adapter. I may want to keep it intact just in case, and I don't want to mess it up.

If I use the reducer, and hold it manually as you suggest, will that work just as well?

The Song gives a firm connection.
With just the Flexicone and the reducer to hydratube, the connection is very loose. The reducer is just a hose that sits on the Flexi ridge but dose not attach at all. It just rests on the Flexi and but gives a firm connection to HT.
It negates the too loose fit of the Flexi direct connection to a HT with a recessed joint.

You need to hold it in place but it connects solid in the HT. Reducer is cheap and can be used for other things, like any glass to glass connections as it prevents glass to glass sticking problem.

@Justpassedu someone offered me one of these.... for my evo. How does it compar
...............................................................................................
The EVO has a lot more fans here on FC but I had EVO and Herbie at the same time and sold my EVO. The EVO is a great vape but Herbie just fits my needs/wants better. Note that I'd still consider buying another EVO in the future.
I found Herbie to be much more versatile---can use with bags or whip or with @Ratchett Song adapter you can use with direct glass mouthpieces or with hydratube direct.
The Herbie vs EVO heatup time is no-contest, 7 seconds vs XXXXX.
I was not a fan of the EVO loading system. Stock Herbie chamber was better but still lacking (messy and needed cleaning often and clogged the chamber top screen). I always use the miniVAP flexicone baskets in Herbie with just the bottom half of the Herbie chamber, Quick, clean, efficient, etc
Pic shows Flexicone outside the chamber AND a S & B dosing capsule in the chamber. I like the Flexi MUCH better.
Herbie%20w%20SB%20capsule.jpg

Vapes are very subjective but I love Herbie/ consider it to be a top 5 or top 3 vape.
EVO for me, would be close behind, a great vape but with a few small negatives for me.
Besides function, I had a hard time liking the build quality of the EVO, it always looked
to me like a "hunk of plastic made from recycled plastic milk cartons', sorry....

I personally gave the edge to the Evo for thicker denser clouds and it is just easier to use for me but the herbalizer is nice , heats up in like seconds and is ready , does bags , whips and you can connect a water pipe or hydratube with a adapter. If i had to pick one though , Evo wins it for me , that's not to say herbalizer is a bad vape at all , it just suites my needs better. Oh and i really disliked how easy the stock bowls top screen got clogged up. I had to clean it very often , with mods it can be fixed.

My vote is for the Herbalizer.

Clouds are just as good if not better and flavor is insane.
(Most people cant figure out the correct technique)

i will say i prefer to use my smaller load in the EVO, while i prefer my .2's in the Herbie

i like the EVO elb loading system better. They are much easier to handle, plus like said above the Herbie chamber/top screen always get clogged. All thats required is to torch it clean, but this is just maintenance that would be nice if not needed.

EVO is awesome as its side kick, but Herbalizer is batman when for vaping flower (not wax)

Think about it (glass) vs (ceramic halogen lightbulb)

The herbalizer uses a much better heating element material, which is the reason for the amazing flavor

Two totally different machines man , technique is pretty simple . Now modding it is when it really wakes up. Stock for Stock Evo pumps out bigger denser clouds imo and i have owned both for quite some time. I would not say either is a sidekick it just really comes down to personal preference and needs of the user. Have you done a study that proves a using a ceramic halogen light bulb that uses a type of plastic bowl is better than a all glass airpath & elb the Evo uses ? I think there is a reason why the Evo thread has almost double the posts the herbalizer thread has and they started around the same time . Not trying to offend as i love the herbalizer also but your comparisons i cannot agree with - "EVO is awesome as its side kick, but Herbalizer is batman when for vaping flower (not wax)

So i decided to do some experimenting and loaded an Herbie bowl about 60-70% full at 355 degrees F

Normally, i always vape at 444 degrees F and cashe the load with about 3 hits. Maybe 4 at most.

But so this 355F bowl I'm vaping right now has put out at least 20 large hits/clouds. No jokes.

I feel this 355F degree bowl has put out much more vapor (overall) than it would have if it had been vaped at 444F.

i still havnt even finished this 355F bowl, and I'm sure theres still lots of good stuff left in it.

Definitely more buzzed by this 355F bowl than my usual 444F bowls
But maybe this is just because my tolerance isn't acustom to the lower temperature?

i always vape my EVO elbs at noon (~350F) but this 355F Herbie bowl has put out more vapor/effect

Can someone explain the science of all this to me please???

The only modification i did was switch the whips. I use 7th floor's tubing. It fits right over the bowl and allows for much better airflow (especially since you dont have to use that plastic whip adapter)

i agree that is all what fits the user. the height of the vaporizer and loading system, cleaning, etc all play apart of someone's best fit.

And then no i have not done any study. but i own and use both vaporizers everyday. And the Herbalizer taste better. I use both vaporizers with the same delivery method and the Herbalizer vapor is just more pure in my opinion. Not saying the EVO is bad, I'm just saying i have both side by side and the Herbalizer taste better to me without a doubt.

Then cloud size can be a toss up. The EVO elb can only perform with .15 at most. The Elb can technically hold .2 but that is when its completely full and that would not allow for proper airflow.

i can load .25 or maybe even .3 in the Herbalizer (so basically twice the amount of herb)
Which will obviously allow for more vapor to be produced since there is much more material.

Now, when comparing cloud size of .15 in the EVO vs .15 in the Herbalizer thats the discussion thats always debatable.

But like you said, its all about getting the vape that fits your lifestyle/requirements best. This is something people take too lightly. And it is difficult because of these vapes being so high priced, which is the reason why i think the EVO has more thread activity (cheaper), but it really is worth it to invest in a vaporizer that fits your personal needs.

i also wanted to discuss, i read that the Herbalizer halogen heating bulb does not extract the chlorophyll like other vapes which is the reason for the lighter color abv. All the medicine has been vaped/extracted, but the halogen heating element supposedly does not extract all the chlorophyll.

I've read it discussed here that even because the herbalizer puts out lighter abv, that does not mean it is not extracting. it definitely is. and so i just wanted to add i think that is because of the crazy chlorophyll science

I think the difference is the length of your session and how much time you had vapour in your lungs. 3-4 big hits makes for a much shorter length of time that vapour is in your lungs and overall you're going to be exhaling a lot of it. When you take 20 small hits you're greatly improving your vapour efficiency because your lungs can only absorb so much per breath. So perhaps you should slow down and take smaller sips when you're at 444 and I think you be wrecked.

A second possibility could be that there's some cannabinoid wizardry going on that is canceling out the THC at higher temperatures. But I personally doubt this as I've always found I'm far more stoned when in the 430-445F range.

Hello all Herbalizer users! I have a simple question please- I really want to get some of the Herbalizer aromapads to use with essential oils as an allergy treatment.

I live in the UK. So far all the US and Canadian vendors I checked dont ship outside US and Canada.
Does anybody who lives in Europe know of a Eurpopean stockist, or a vendor that ships to the UK who stocks the aromapads?

Big thanks in advance for any response.

just checking into this thread. Got an herbalizer for xmas over the winter, i just started using it as my home unit, have a pax2 for portable.

I like the herbalizer, although like all vapes it has its goods and bads. Seems like a legit product though.

I dont mess with the bags, just the hose.

cheers

Probably your best bet is to pick up some storz and bickel liquid pads for the mighty/crafty. Same material, fits in the herbalizer bowl perfectly, and I imagine reasonable shipping to you.

I've done that without an aroma pad. It gunks up the screen quite a bit, but I haven't had it drip or anything. I've found it needs a prettt high temp to get those to vape properly, 440. The flavor is great and the vapor is super thick.

Thamls very much. I dont actually have a Herbalizer. I intend to use the pads with the Herborizer vaporizer to vape the essential oils. I have been using hemp fiber but it is very awkward, inconsistent and limited. I may give Vapefiend a ring in the UK and ask their advice..
Many thanks man.
