Discontinued The Sublimator

Is the 1.0 definitively the best? I had a friend tell me he tried the XLR 2.0 and he liked my 1.0 a lot more for some reason. I'm thinking maybe he tried to vape flowers from the e-nail and mistook it for an apollo.

I just ordered a 3.0 because my wattage significantly dropped on my 1.0 after 4 years of continuous usage. It still works well but I'd like my AVB to be a little darker and for the sub to extract a little quicker. What readouts are you guys getting? Mine maxes out at 33.8 watt.

I think the different versions hit very similar, but with the 1.0 we don't have to reset the timer. I leave my 1.0 on for days.

I also had the wattage significantly drop. It was sold with a 10 year warranty so I sent it back, they exchanged the old heater with a new one for free, except I had to pay shipping both ways. Maxes at 48W, I use it at about 38W. You should look into sending yours back.

I didn't know there was a 3.0. I'll check it out

My 1.0 is from brown cord days and still going medium strong. Cranked to Max is all perfect for flowers consistently, but doesn't get hot enough for dabs. Even after a few repeated hits things start to get a little lighter brown. I haven't hooked up the kill a watt but I know it was low last time.

@cow-a-bunga that's awesome where did you get it?

1.0 is no longer available, xlr 2.0 is going but that's because there is a new version of heater connections.
Any idea if I have the XLR 2.0 and just bought the new three hour timer controller that I can just but a new head/handle and an adapter? Would really hate to have to buy yet another timer box!

Apparently there is a 3hr timer for the 2.0. PlanetVape have it on their site but I've never seen it in stock, unfortunately the ones on the Sublimator website are for the 3.0 only.

Doesn't the new controller have the mini XLR connectors? AFAIK the new controller is only suited to the new mini XLR heater. Atomizer is the same.

I happened to plug my sub in without the dimmer switch I have it hooked to for controlling the output. To my surprise my sub will actually still hit it's original 50-51 watts!! That's pretty impressive considering it's age and how much use it's seen. I have beat the shit out of it too, dabbed all kinds of shitty reclaim and the like through it.

I think i received it in November of 2013 making it 3.5 years old.

Nothing more frustrating than dumping your first load of the day (of flowers and kief no less) into the sub and inhaling only to find that no vapour is being produced because your cleaning lady inadvertently turned off the switch on the power bar it's plugged in to.

Alas, now the 20-30 minute heat up wait...

Sidenote, I have a LOT of ABV saved up along with a reasonable amount of sublimate. I was thinking that cooking is probably my best bet, but does anyone know of an effective, TASTY way to utilize this? I'm sure the sublimate would be very easy to infuse into butter, hell, I'd even eat that plain - it doesn't exactly taste awful. But the ABV's texture and flavour leaves a lot to be desired.

I'm also open to non-cooking methods of utilizing this.

Thanks!

Yeah I don't see why not. I've never put sublimate in but I presume it works better than abv alone, oil into oil is perfect. It will definitely add something to the taste but my guess it wouldn't be as bad as abv due to less organic material in the mix.

keen to hear how you go

So after all these years I finally found the perfect reclaim adapter.

It's not a bad deal either. I can't wait to fire up my sub

I've decided to cut weed out for the most part and now I have this amazing rig that isn't being used.

Kinda blasphemous.

Alas.

Hope y'all are doing well!

OG subber checking in!

Still have the sub on 24/7 and it's going strong! (Though I did have it packed away for over a year).

Oh how I love how simple and effective this beast is!

On a sidenote, I very much miss the other OG's and our conversations from the early days.

Hope you all are doing well!

I screwed up my 'apollo launchpad' a while back trying to make a reclaim dealie-bob.

The dealie-bob I couldn't get

The launchpad is their dry bong. It's a great way to vape, and generates some reclaim but they never actually sold their newer reclaim downstem separately. After I cut the hole in my downstem I ended up just putting my finger on it and using it as a carb, because I couldn't get the jar I was trying to use to fit right.

They have their own glass reclaim thing now, but I like tag's better and it's much less expensive.

While my launchpad still exists, I'm excited to sub through water again those are the monster hits!

@StormyPinkness,

why do you need a 2nd dropdown? Pic looks as you could place your nail directely into the first one!?
Oh I could, I just wanted to try and use a reclaim adapter with my nail. The bottom of that first drop down got pretty waxy, I can just scoop it up but it's hard to get at part of it.

I tried using this one and it worked great but it made the nail higher than I wanted:
