What's your favorite torch or lighter to use with the Vapcap?

This is a nice triple in steel to match the M:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291209713632

It's for easily adjustable flame with a tuck away twist mechanic. No fuel window though.

I'm making do with my dual torch turbo flame until I find a lighter I really like. Been looking ages now, feel like I'm going crazy :freak::lol:

My criteria are:

Metal (steel/chrome)
Single or double torch
Fuel window
Easily adjustable flame height
Decent size fuel tank

I like the adjuster on that one, that would work nicely for my needs. I'm keeping an eye out though for one with a tank window and dual flame that isn't crazy expensive.

I thought I'd add some shit you SHOULDN'T buy also...

This wasn't terrible but it broke after not long:

These were bloody awful. Barely worked once, and stank up the place of melted plastic:

This required a Schwarzenegger thumb to operate for long enough to heat up the shit. Also burns your hand because it gets so hot. Very bad choice right here.

Because my current lighters can only be adjusted with a screw driver I end up leaving the flam on max which wastes fuel. If I could adjust the flam by turning a dial id be able to set the flame height to the minimum required for the ambient temp.

This is the first dual torch I tried, it worked well until the igniter died. The pop-out adjuster on the bottom made it a breeze to adjust flame height, and the tank is pretty big:

This next one is the one I use everyday. Still works great after a ton of use. The tank is kinda small, but there is a fuel window. The adjuster screw is under a flip-out cigar punch, which I actually like because there's enough room for me to turn it with my fingernail.

Like the first one. Have been looking for a double like this (have a few similar triples). Thanks for the link!

2nd one is my usual go to that is always in the little VC bag. Nice lighter, just empties too fast for me so always have a backup!

:o YIKES! Checkout the JetLine website, there are loads of models.

Look at this badass lighter:

SIX FLAMES! Unbelievably unnecessary but yeash, if you want to melt your VapCap that would be the way to do it :brow:

I'm just back from a trip to the Nederlands where my Omni has seen a lot of work. I carried with me one of my beloved Honest single flame torches and it worked flawlessly, indoor and outdoor even in the hostile dutch weather. Fed with the cheapest butane I could buy there and almost never emptied before refilling or even purged as I rarely had any suitable tool available it never failed despite being cheap enough to be lost or seized at the airport without feeling bad. Seen it's brothers sold for 7.95€ in Amsterdam, twice what I paid for it on Aliexpress but still cheaper than most torches available in shops (at least here).

I'd be wary of all metal construction, they look good and would be plenty robust enough. My main worry would be possible heat transfer thru the body.

@VanCough that Zico would be too tempting a torch for me. It's got screws on it which I'd have to take out and see what was under it, be nice if the tank was see thru then you could make your own gas level window.

FYI, on the pink flame lighter.

I had tried all the things you do with a new lighter. Bled and filled with premium, adjusting flow, etc.. I mostly wanted it because of the pink flame! It is a bit oversized for a pocket lighter, traditional cigar lighter sized. Just wanted to give a heads up since noticing others mentioning the brand.

I may try an ebay single torch, they have some with a pink flame.

I just received this one. I thought cigar punch would be more useful, as I believed it would be like a leather punch on a pocketknife like a reamer. I guess I fail cigar 101. I do like this lighter's pocketability

If only Pavlov had had a VapCap...

I'm still waiting for the Chinese lighters that I ordered to arrive, but I did get the double flame torch from Dynavap with my 420 order. It's small, metal, easy adjust wheel.. Only the butane I have must not be very good, because when I refilled it, I have to keep the lighter set to max to work. Also, it HATES being anything but warm. Must be kept in the pocket or it doesn't work at all. I have to hold it upside down to my purple lighter because the flip up lid gets stuck in the grooves on the tip, which is weird. It certainly has a personality! No window, small tank, small size in general (nice for the pocket but a bit too small for my hand). Surprisingly cool after use though.

I'd love a lighter with a big tank, that would fit in my (apparently) big hand, can handle the junk butane available at Bunnings, and be easily adjustable.. Everything else is optional. The search continues.. :)

Since I'm tired of my big torch, yesterday I was searching for something pocket-size, efficient, possibly with visible butane tank... and I finally ordered this one

The orientation of these jets seems perfect for ignite a VapCap, no?

Hey, I'm using this one everyday and it performs quite well, tank is small but he does the job, the 2 flames like you said fits perfectly with the VC. I've got two of them and they work perfectly.
You need a "tool" to adjust the flame but I never need to.

Try the Pyramid. Made for the VapCap, IMHO Doc Funnels the sound of the click, wind resistant. Placed a magnet next to the torches to hold the vapcap.

Are you pushing a button to light this or pull the button down? Looks nice for VC though, and the fact is that it can fit a magnet on it as well that's the full package. Thanks

Some facts for VapCapers. Below you see butane tank capacity of some popular torches measured in grams. Both Vertigo lighters are sold by Dynavap. Single torch is widely available under numerous names, mine is Zico.

4 torches - 2,9 gr
3 torches - 3,7 gr
1 torch - 9,5 gr

Do your math.

I have been using a single, double, triple, and quad.

Lately I've been getting best results with the double torch with the torches aimed across the cap focused on the N, as opposed to the torches aimed along the letters (going from up down).

My favorite way to go, too!! Triples are nice if you're in a hurry. Singles are good if you have time and are inside. Doubles are just right in a Goldilocks way for me!

Sorry for double post. It's been days!

Think I may have found another nice double jet on eBay. It's an Honest, which I've had good luck with in the past.

Have only had it for a day and still on first fill, but working well. Check out the huge tank window on the side. Can easily see butane level and watch it fill. Lid opens automatically when you click it - another preference of mine you don't always see, and the cigar cutter you can push out of bottom is a nice tool to quickly empty a tip! The lid also opens to perfect height to use as a "rest" for a VC at perfect distance from flame with just a little adjustment. The end all, be all? Don't know about all that, but if it keeps firing on first click and doing as well as it does with heating it will be the one jet torch to rule them all! :D

I found these single flame torches at a store named Dollar General. They cost $2.50 each and work great.

I've been using them over my three flame torch and love them! They have a see through tank, easy adjustment on front and fire up every single time.

As a bonus, the little chain sticks to my dynastash magnet for easy carrying

That cheap twin flame that goes by many brand names. $8 at my local shop and its all I need, lid opens automatically when you click it, Dynamagnet on the lid is so damn functional. Works great for using the cap digger outer to stir between cycles if you're into that. I think i'll go pick up a few more
