Can anyone give a rough measurement of those vinyl or rubber end caps?
I'm short PayPal balance for shipping a pair from Ratchett's place to mine and just wondering if it would be silly to try and pick something up closer to home?
Thanks

The cap has a 1 inch diameter and is about .75 inches deep.

Thanks for that info, I'm having trouble finding listings over 20mm with reasonable shipping.
I can find a good deal on 100x red ones though!
Maybe it will be worth checking a few hardware places or I'll just wait till I have a larger order for Delta 3D to get some caps.

I like the look of those plastic PAX holders from Skunkcase too.

Hi, so a few times since getting the Pax3 last month, I've hoped for an easy way to slightly reduce the oven size more than when using the half-pack lid only. Not many acceptable options out there.

Then a couple days ago I was looking at my never-to-be-used concentrate insert. I popped the concentrate lid's cap off and noticed the cap would be perfect to put on 30 or 40% of a full chamber (depending on which cap side is face down) before placing the half-pack lid on top.

Prepare to be amazed

I took the rubber gasket off the cap first, but not sure whether healthier.

I've thought for a while now that the half-pack oven-lid bottom may not have ideal contact with the herb - except for the herb in the middle of the oven. Not a problem when adding the concentrate-cap (used with herb as an oven spacer) before puting on the half-pack lid.

A toothpick helps if the cap doesn't fall out when I try to shake it out.
I've gotta say, I think that does improve performance with a small amount. A little more intense taste and vapor. Not sure if it's a bit more of a pain in the neck to deal with it. Time will tell. But good thinkin' Lincoln!

Got my Pax 3 about a week ago. I've previously had the 1 and the 2. In fact, they're the only vaporizers I've owned other than cartridge pens and my Firefly 2 which sits unused and unloved until I get my act together to put it on Craigslist.

In a nutshell: The 3 has significant improvements that make it even better than its already IMHO status as the best portable vaporizer. The quick heat up time - about 23 secs to get to my 390 preferred setting as opposed to about 1:10 with the 2 - combined with the haptic tingle makes the timing, particularly when trying to be discreet, considerably more user-friendly. The app is half gimmick, half feature. I haven't exactly figured out which settings I'll ultimately settle on but it is kinda fun to watch realtime temp readings while connected which does make it easier to quantify the setting options and which work best for you.

I have to say, I am somewhat flummoxed by the attention and love the FF2 gets on this site relative to the Pax 3. So, with all due respect to FF fans, let me make a case for the Pax 3 - or even Pax 2 - to those considering one of those two heavyweights. Let's start with their form factors. If you are looking for something portable, somehing you can throw in your pocket or bag and use on the go, to use it stealthily - there isn't even a comparison. The Pax is way smaller, lighter and more discreet. I also find the FF hard to hold comfortably while pressing the side button. It's a bit awkward which hurts the user experience.

I also had great difficulty getting a decent amount of vapor out of the FF, and tried every tip on this site - although I will admit to overmedicating while trying. And for a lightweight like me who likes one or two hits at a time, it seems like it takes a longer session than that to get the FF really cooking. With the Pax I feel like I have a much better idea of what I'm getting, a better sense of control.

Taste with the Pax is mainly plus with some minus. The first couple hits with a nice bowl is unbelievably delicious. Tiramisu delicious. In 'n Out Cheeseburger delicious. But, as the oven-full is used it goes through Not Badland to the outskirts of Nastyville. I'm still waiting for the accessory that will make it easy to serve up one or two beautiful hits then start fresh. But the good parts of the bowl are, to my buds, much tastier.

FWIW, I upgraded to the 3 because the button on my 2 was starting to go. If your 2 is working well and you don't need the lastest and greatest, don't worry, you're not missing a game changer. But I am kinda happy my button started to stick so I can enjoy the new features.

One last point. Definitely get Delta 3D studios endcaps. The Pax's smell between sessions was a drawback but is completely and conveniently solved for $2.50 a pair.

I use the Newvape pusher in my pax 2. Anyone use that accessory in the pax3?

Stay charged, my friends
Does the Pax 3 require two presses to turn on and start heating? On first press, my unit vibrates, the LEDs glow white, and then it shuts down immediately. On second press the unit fires up as normal and starts heating. @Ojan_at_PAX is this normal behavior? Thank you!

This is gonna sound silly, but you're likely pressing the button for too long. A quick press will turn PAX on, causing it to vibrate, and make the "X" spin white quickly before turning purple. If held longer, it'll turn itself off right after the white light spins once. While the device is on, a long press will put it into temperature selection mode, and another short press turns it off.

IME you must to remove the screen before to insert the concentrate lid. With this setup you can vape your CC without anything else to get the best flavor!

Hi @paco FF2 I can't help you since I never used my Pax3 app (I don't own any fancy smartphone, only a dinosaur!), sorry but I hope somebody will reply to you!

Hi All

Hoping someone can help..I bought a Pax 3 a few days ago and whilst I'm enjoying the efficiency and ease of use I'm really struggling with the taste or more specifically the taste of silicone I'm getting with each draw.

I know this is down to the mouthpiece and the surface area between the airpath tube and the mouthpiece being the same silicone material..but I had hoped that after a few sessions or a clean with Iso wipes that this would subside, unfortunately it is still very overbearing with each draw and is leaving me unsatisfied after shelling out £200 on a vaporizer that doesn't deliver good taste.

I also have a Storm vape pen and that has a ceramic oven and glass mouthpiece and short airpath which produces great flavour but not so great clouds consistently.(at a 3rd of the price of the Pax 3 it out shines for flavour)

Any help or tips welcomed as feeling a bit bummed with my purchase at present.

I don't get the taste silicone, but I am not at all sensitive to it. Before you give up on the Pax, consider getting a replacement from your point of purchase. Did you buy it at a local head shop or over the Internet? If after trying a replacement and you are still unhappy, your supplier may take it back. Check your purchase form or ask them by email or phone, if a number is available.

Im hoping it will fade but im weary that it won't purely down to the material used, I understand it wont give the same taste as ceramic or glass but with the silicone mouthpiece and end of air path heating up it starts to emit slight rubbery smell and taste when in use which I dont think is what anyone desires in a premium priced portable vape.

I dont think its a fault or one off just purely design flaw with materials used..shame really

Sorry to hear that brother, my device smells not even a bit from silicon.. It must be a defect or something, after at least 3 uses the device should smell only from the herb used. Have you tried to ''wash'' the silicon parts with a warm, wet towel?

are you sure you have a real device?

It's not so much the smell but the taste, its natural for such a material to interfere with vapour taste I had it on another device with same material, you can't expect a rubber/silicone type material upon heating not to create some taste or smell from its make up. Im going to try soaking the mouthpiece give it a few more bowl runs and hopefully it will susbide to an acceptable level.
100% sure it's genuine device from authorised stockist.

Thanks I've contacted him..tried a few things and it has slightly improved but the taste resurfaces with a bang towards the end of a bowl.

Still slightly present when trying the naked approach as suggested above without mouthpiece.

Think I'm just a bit disappointed with this unit, expected more flavour and more consistency with such a high end priced vape.

Don't get me wrong..it obviously extracts the cannabinoids well as it feels like it hits heavier then other vapes I've tried after consuming a half bowl, but sessions just aren't enjoyable when it comes to flavour and feedback, the draw is quite restrictive, flavour seriously lacking and dont feel I can get a lung full of vapour even when using the sipping technique.

I also don't want to start pouring more money into after market accessories to improve flavour or functionality after paying out what I have on a premium portable that should be able to deliver straight from the box.

Feeling a bit robbed right now

It's hard to say if your just used to better flavor vaporizers or is it your unit that works not as it should..
Can I ask you to what models you compare the Flavor?

I own Volcano, Mighty, Davinci IQ and compared to them the taste is still very nice, It's the most ''conduction'' tasting vaporizer of the models I used, the vapor smells a bit toasty/popcornish over time, but can't say it's a bad taste.. In my experience the quality and moisture of the herb plays a big role in terms of flavor.

Also important on the pax is to grind fine, and dry herb works better, sometimes it helps to let the grinded herb sit for some minutes before putting in..

check out the videos on youtube from vapecritic and vaporizerwizard, they show very well how the pax works as a top tier vaporizer

I'm surprised you still have that silicone taste. I hope you shared that with @Ojan_at_PAX. I haven't had that experience with my pax2 (using the flat mouthpiece).

I still have high confidence that Ojan will help you.

My other vaporizer is a Storm by Vapefiend, I understand in comparison that due to it's ceramic oven, glass mouthpiece and short airpath this is what delivers good flavour.

With the Pax im just finding it very muted in comparison and overly toasty at times, I have tried various strains, various grades of grinds and heat settings but with the exception of a bowl earlier (Ammo that wasn't particularly dry and very coarse grind) that was the best flavour and vapour experience I've had to date. As said it packs a punch even with the half bowl but I'm just finding the flavour way off what I expected (after a couple hits the taste seems to turn toasty quickly and already feels muted added with the mouthpiece inference) so this feels more like a quick hit vape with not much enjoyment of the terpene profiles of your herbs.. I'm going to stick with it for a week or so and see if things improve but if not will try and sell it and go with my original choice the Davinci IQ.

The silicone/rubber is more noticeable at the end of the bowl now, the silicone/rubber option mouthpiece with the Storm vaporizer doesnt give good flavour either so I think I'm particulary sensitive to it..thats why I stick with the glass mouthpiece.

I soaked my Pax mouthpieces in hot water earlier both came out with white residue when drying which I assume is pretty normal for the material.

The raised mouthpiece strangely was less rubber like even from new but I dont feel the draw and air flow is as good as the flat one.

I'll give it a week or so and see what happens
