Discontinued MistVape Touch

Shit Snacks

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
I have a question. I have read the entire thread but can't remember. Are the standard Arizer stems compatible with the MVT?

I should get my MVT in June and just ordered a Solo2. It would be a bonus if I could mix/match the stems. Thanks for your help in advance.

Yeah too wide at the bowl end to fit with silicone even, and they don't have the 14mm ground joint either, so the answer is no. Unless you figure out some sort of mod maybe

@Shit Snacks you are so right. The Arizers do not have the ground joint. I have looked at many pictures and not registered that yet. Oh well! I am having trouble finding Colored Arizer stems and like some of the long stem colors on @mistvaporizer 's site. Thanks.

Yes those are the ones I start with, then I drill them out for the cup screen and smooth the edge with a diamond file and fire polish the end or ends if was cut to be a shorty. Recently purchased a rather pricey diamond saw just for dealing with these. Of course it also gives me some flexibility to try new glass things.

I recently made a "collar" out of wood which you can put around a stem when stirring. This allows you to stir and tamp a load without dumping it out.
here is the collar (still a little rough, didn't smooth the upper edge yet)

And on a stem

The side wall is about 3/8" deep so a fully loaded stem can be stirred and tamped without spilling a crumb (well you might spill a crumb or two, depending on your level of medication)
This wood is called leopard wood, I believe it is the same as lace wood, I have a question out to the supplier to confirm that.
And again thanks to @Alan for tips on wood finishing. This was sanded smooth and then rubbed with beeswax and buffed while spinning in the lathe. Gives a nice shiny finish. The interior is bare wood.

@sickmanfraud thanks for the link. Valuable information about glass

and

@mistvaporizer the collar is brilliant and should be added to the shopping list for us "spillers". Consider making the collars so that either side can be up.

The thanks for the link to reasonable priced stems originally got from @Bandoo so he is deserving of some thanks.

No need to pay $12 for a stem when you can get it for under $3.

@sickmanfraud please review what @mistvaporizer posted. He drills out the interior of these stems so we can use a cup screen easily. A $3 stem undrilled is not of much use to me. His tools and labor are the difference.

But it won't have the ledge for the screen so getting one to stay put is gonna be a real bitch. I can barely use my GonG bc of that issue

Love the collar @mistvaporizer! A great idea that solves for an issue and adds more beautiful wood work! Leopard wood is cool, DynaVap offers it too for the stashes

I was using those cheapies in the beginning for my Mi and no they dont have the ledge to hold the screen so it's well worth it to buy the specially prepared ones from Mistvape instead. They dont wear out..
Anyway I prefer wood mouthpieces now that I make myself, though I think the glass probably has a better taste.

Wow !! Got my Touch tdy. I collected it from the post office this morning ( before work, so I could spend tonight getting to know her.) as they tried to deliver it yesterday. That's gotta be some kind of record. posted on the 16/4/17 in the US, delivered on the 20/4/17 in the UK.

Big Thanks to Dave you are a real legend! The stir/tamp tool is fantastic, I use the double screen method , and it's just perfect to insert the top screen into the stem and remove it. My Touch is absolutely lovely (IMHO) and I am stoked at how well this thing works.

I have a Milaana and this has helped with understanding how to use the Touch, however as has been said before they are their own vapes. I feel the Touch is a little easier to control out of the two.
Two great vapes which are individual enough to warrant owning both.

The button on the Touch is really sensitive, but in a good way. i realise now I was pressing way harder than I needed to in the beginning. I would suggest when you first get your Touch, to hold it and looking down the female stem press and hold the button until the coil glows then release it. Then touch and remove your finger from the button , to gauge how much pressure is required to fire up the touch.

Very pleased with this vape so far ( half a day in ) :luv: and I am still to learn how to master it properly.

great to hear @soulfulrebel.MC
Just a note to all those on the list. The top five names are about to be taken off, I've sent emails to each and not heard back from them. Tomorrow they come off, at least two are forum folks. If there are issues and you need to delay just let me know and we can work something out.

@mistvaporizer I think I mentioned this before. Your web site photos could be updated. 4 out of the 7 pictures I accessed on your site show the old battery door with metal hardware. The look improved with the new flush sliding door. Maybe someone (@Shit Snacks ?) could collate a list of all the improvements over the last few months. It seems to me you have solved all the important issues.

If you need me to take mine anytime I am game for it. wilwo

@Little Bill are those the pics in the "store"? I think I got the others fixed but I need to get with IT, not sure where the photos for the store are stored. I appreciate the heads up.
I have about 15 units left in this batch and you are #16, there are at least 4 people who are about to be dropped from the list so I think you will make this batch.
@Fat Freddy looks like we might get you in this batch too

I just had to post a quick update. What a fantastic vape. Can't help but keep staring at how " Purdy " she is ! But it's not just that, I mentioned I am yet to still master this vape. I say that as with all new things ( more-so unregulated vapes) it takes time to familiarize yourself. However whatever I do with this vape I seem to get excellent results, almost effortlessly.

Maybe it's my Milaana training lol, everything seems to be easy to perform with this vape. The efficiency is amazing and I seem to be able to get endless cool vapor with hardly any real effort. Dave I am very impressed.

I don't see my new acquisition as a symptom of VAS as all my vapes have their place. As long as they are effective and work well, hey all get used and I enjoy them all. There are some occasions where the MFLB is called for in ultra stealth mode. My Arizer air for daytime street mode and clubs and bars etc as it doesn't draw much attention.
My E -nano at home for plain and simple ease of use and always there ready to produce thick effortless vapor. My Milaana when chilling at home on the go and with friends, a real cloud monster at times  .

Now to take its own place The Mistvape Touch, another great vape to chill with that allows me to micro-dose and really extend how much I get out of my 'erb !

I'm getting serious clouds when I want to with my touch , and using it through water is so easy. It's like it produces vapor very quickly, has great heat retention allowing vapor production to continue, yet I have not found the vapor to be too hot or uncomfortable when using it dry. Amazing.

These are all observations I have noted and yet have only spent a very short time with this vape, but am enjoying it so much hence my need to share my experience with you all.
It's only through some of the great feedback and tips and advice from all you guys , which has enabled me to make the best choices ( for me ) in choosing vaporizers , using them and doing simple user mods. Many times I have read great posts which have really helped me , which is why it's great to share.

If you're unsure about this Vaporizer I can only say this it's a very good looking vape, highly efficient , small learning curve ( IMHO), great build quality and has enough power to be very versatile but in a controllable manor. I have no trouble in recommending this vaporizer to anyone.

Lastly, I don't know how you did it Dave but I'm sure glad you did.

You were a pleasure to deal with and as we say in the UK a " Top bloke "

Thank you Much.

I'm glad I decided to stay on the list while exploring my new zion and tubo. I'm still weeks away from reaching the top of the list. Is there a list somewhere of accessories that are important to include when getting the mist?

If you want to use the MVT through water you should buy the 14mm double ended male GONG.

I use the double screen method. If that interests you should buy a bunch of extra screens. The deep cup seems to get clogged pretty easily so make sure you have enough screens to change often.

I have the stir/tamp tool in purple heart and it is surprisingly intuitive to use have two useful things in one piece. I find myself reaching for it all the time.
I tamp down and push in my top screens with one end , and prise out the top screen and stir with the other. Simple yet very effective. Recommended.

just got a new MVT that's tuned better than my original so much less hotspot/charring, very good customer service from Dave!

I also started using the wider wood stem through water and now am finally getting vapour similar to my desktop easily. I made this Frankenstein water adapter with parts from my arizer vape (elbow bowl and tubing). guess this is the drterps mod...

drterps told me he had trouble getting his Touch to behave and about the same time another person sent their unit in for tuning. When I tuned the other unit I found it to be not adjusted properly. Egg on my face kinda thing, I had trouble not combusting. Realized then that most likely drterp's unit needed some help so we got it fixed. I really don't want any "bad" units out there. Seems that the best I can do is at least 50% of the herb gets toasted in any given position of the stem and combustion is easy to avoid. That works from a manufacturing perspective and is reasonable as an end user.
I finally ordered coils from a company that can make them on a machine. That should make the coils more consistent moving forward. It will take 5 weeks to get them however and of course I need to buy a bunch. For the diy crowd I imagine I will offer coils if anyone is interested, more on that next month.
