I keep my ELBs loosely packed but that's mostly just for herb conservation. I did a comparison with a tightly packed full ELB and didn't find too much of a difference in effect and extraction.

Packing tightly seemed more necessary when I added kief in the middle, but otherwise try em both!

I love the ELB mod, having prepacked "carts" are awesome on the go, but the one drawback is that I get too greedy and vape em all instead of being more deliberate, heh

Evening All!

Just wanted to pop in and mention that I've officially published my new Boundless CFX loading funnel!

Took me a few weeks of tinkering in my spare time to finalize the shape of the threading, but this baby works perfectly. Finally, no more lost bits of herb in the corners of this vape!!

It's great @Ratchett! But seeing how the original one is already quite a chunk of metal to carry around, I can't imagine having such a large piece in my pocket all day long.

Any chance you could make it smaller? Like cutting about half of the upper part? It doesn't have to be very big in practice, as long as it covers the threads and the outer groove.

PS: I can give you the exact dimensions of the original CFV/SwiftPro one if you want.

I can always make a shorter one if desired. The problem I have is the shorter I make the funnel, the smaller the diameter of the funnel I must make (too steep of an angle is difficult to 3D print).

PM me the max height for the funnel and I'll make a "mini" version if desired

The other 'bug' with my cfx is when I turn it on, the screen just lights up for a second then goes dark as it shuts back off. Then I turn it on again and it always stays lit/on. I think when it was new it turned on the first time, but every time after that it's taken two activations. Is this a 'normal' safety feature?

Or is it just me :mental:

Not sure if someone got to this yet, but when you let it go to sleep, it stays in sleep mode until you wake it up. If you turn it on while in sleep mode (you think it is off because it appears that way), you are actually turning it off. so you need to turn it on again. If you let it run until it falls asleep, next time just hold the power button for two seconds to wake it up.

Does that mean I should packing it tight at the bottom of the ELB screen?

To clarify...load your elb or chamber as much or as little as u want then a light tamp to compact the load. I use the butt end of one of the tools provided w the cfx to just give it a little push down..and good to go.

The modes on my vapes are just different enough from each other that it can confuse the hell out of me. Some have sleep and stealth features and some seem to have features or modes that are not listed!

About 2 minutes after my new CFX, the magnet in the mouth piece fell out so I just popped it back in. I realized that I put the magnet in the wrong way so the mouth piece and unit magnets are on opposite ends not attracting. The magnet is now stuck in the mouth piece. I tried removing but it seems lodged in. I tried using duct tape to stick it to it and pull it out but I had no luck. Do you have any recommendations to take out the magnet?

Mine came 3/4 charged ...I ISO swabbed the chamber and did 3 burn offs at Max temp..was all good after that..just keep the cap on the unit while doing burn offs. It didn't have any smell when I got it just did it to me extra safe

when you say burnoff with the cap do you mean with the mouthpiece on the unit as well? and when you did the burnoffs did you do it back to back to back or did you wait between burnoffs

Don't like plastic mouth? Try a little coconut milk.
Not using ELBs? You are going to brown stain the oven.
Want to clean out the brown stain?
Q Tips and Distilled water.
Highest temp you can get on it.
Hold upside down. Slightly damp, I repeat DAMP, q tip. Steam out the oven carefully.
Re Dampen as needed. The key is damp.
Distilled water has no chemicals or chlorine.
Do this CAREFULLY and the stain will peel away.
I do not condone doing this in any way. It's just how I do it Doc

I did get my warranty work done and they sent out a new unit. Happy with the service, it just time. I think the person i bought it from and was dealing with originally might have left and took me with them. :)

Took 9 days turn around. My Mighty service thru Oakland was 7 days to return. My Vivant service was quickest but it was just a part they had to ship. It was 3 days. Plan on doing a review off all 3 one day since I have had minor issues with all 3. Only one never returned for service was the OG DaVinci.

Best suggestion is to go thru pufffitup if any worries about service. :)

Liking this little guy more and more. At first i thought the bowl was a bit big especially as i vape alone mostly. But i just fill it up and hit it for the full 5 minute cycle. Nice satisfying clouds for the whole session. I usually wake it up and let it heat soak for a minute before drawing a couple of further nice sized clouds and then shut it off.

It did have a bit of a plastic/packing smell for the first few sessions but that's completely gone now.

Battery life seems reasonable. I've never drained the battery completely but I'd expect 6-8 cycles power charge. With the usb charge port it's just so easy to wack it on a spare charger.

I got this for $185 NZ to the door through Namastevapes. Very happy

How do you clean the screen in the oven of the CFX?

I tried Q-Tips and alcohol with the heat turned up. It looks cleaner, but there is no airflow (down to 10%). I tested the mouth piece separately and the airflow was fine so it's not the mouth piece. This is frustrating. :hmm:
