Purpleheart.

All I did was extend the default og glass down and use the existing silicone as a seal. Cant believe I didn't do this earlier.

Ah even nicer! Dark purpleheart to my bright red orange, such stunning work @mistvaporizer even the latest plain quilted maple units are gorgeous!

Yeah I thought of it a while ago but didn't want to try until I had a new unit with a more fixed chimney, I have silicone from Alan to try too since he likes to use that to make the seal instead of the GonG actually (freeing the tip for 14mm water connection too) I could try both now while I wait for the heater screen, we'll see.

I am getting pretty nice results so far though, getting used to the heat time and button placement, the grind definitely helped, I can get 1-4 hits without stirring and stir 3-4 times I think depending on the load and hits. This is all shallow screen sandwich though I've tried a couple others and still not that many total bowls yet really

My grind is too fine so I need another screen to lock it in.
Have been considering getting 14mm baskets from @DDave.

Great to see that everyone is liking their custom frame.
The new wood stems deserves some explanation. I have trouble charring, I'm heavy on the button and push it too far generally. Also I don't like the wood flavor you can get from a wood stem if you push too hard.
So I made a wood stem that has half the length of taper which automatically moves the edge of the stem 3/8" further from the heater. This requires more button time but makes it really hard to char the load. For me it is a nice option. I think for @Shit Snacks it may not be a needed option. Snacks is really good at on demand, I always thought regulated was better (kinda weird that my on demand vape got such traction with the community, but I'm glad).
The short taper wood stem might be considered a stem with training wheels. The idea was to help prevent charring and improve flavor for the whole stem.
Since the screen is adjustable you can move it up and load more herb which is similar to Alan's design.
I find that I can load more in the wood stem since it has a larger diameter.

Shipped out some retro fit kits for the new screens. I will post a retro fit page on the mistvaporizer site soon.
Here is a tool I've been using for months and have been meaning to introduce
8JcwfNt.jpg

The body is 2" long, the smaller end works to seat screens or tamp herb. The skinny end is heavy SS wire with a little spoon at the end. Great for stirring or cleaning out a spent stem. This one is dark purple heart. I also have bocote, coco bolo, bolivian rosewood, tulipwood and one or two others. That is I have the wood but haven't made the stir tools.
I'm struggling putting a price on this, it isn't hard to make but I would want to really make them nice. I sent some to testers but I could have made them prettier.
So $20 should give me enough time to make them really look great.

Yeah I need to test the stem more, I do like the idea actually bc I can have the char issue sometimes, but not much now that I've got the good even medium fine grind going. But yeah still adjusting to the heating a bit, though I'm doing pretty well now. It's been all I'm using aside from oil pens until Tubo comes... When I put in my heater screen I will be able to test more properly, the shallow wood stem is a priority so I will report back on it ofcourse.

That mutlitool looks pretty nice, versatile (can it remove screens too though? Doesn't seem skinny enough to go through the mouthpiece end and push a screen out) and I think having it in these exotic woods justifies the price along with functionality. Just love purpleheart in any variety, all of your woods seem especially unique in fact, plus individually handcrafted!

Got my mist yesterday. Haven't had too much time to play with it, but enjoying so far. Have to adjust from Mi, but getting there. Far from close enough to give a decent comparison.

Put the DDave Mi cooler on top of it for a few loads, and am VERY happy. :smug:

For some reason misty seems a little more nano-ier to me than Mi. Hope that continues.

I can confirm the multi-tool is a nice little stirrer. Feels great to stir with, I've been using it with my SB Jr a lot. The slight angle on the shovel is nice for levering out the top screen in a double screened bowl but yeah, it's not long enough to push out the bottom screen.

Edit: keyboard for scale

for all of you waiting this is just to let you know I am working the list and will get to you asap. Unfortunately the asap is not that fast but it is the best I can do. Don't forget about the list at www.mistvaporizer.com/list.
I just got a response from someone who said they had lost faith and bought another vape. If you are on the fence check the list or email me and I'll let you know what is going on.
The list is down to about 60 and I have about 20 more to finish in this batch. Then I have enough wood for another 50.
I have to admit on March 1 I started this batch of 50 and worked like a madman for 4 weeks. I expected to be done in that time, when April came around I sort of crashed, running out of energy. The last couple weeks I have been running on half time but expect to finish this batch this week and start the next batch May 1st or sooner.

yep, thanks guys. I get the people who fade in their interest, three months is a lifetime to some. The bad news for them is the price is only going up. Right now I am thinking of upping the price to $180 for the current model and $150 for the current model without the kill switch. Anyone on the list gets the price and model they signed up at so no surprises.

"lost faith" People are ridiculous, if they can't wait, let em leave, at this point the products are being delivered in what I consider a pretty timely manner especially considering it cost nothing to be on the waitlist... I guess we suspect that may be part of the issue still. However as most of us here know, the product is pretty great too, as us new owners confirm

The mvt was the easiest vape purchase I've made by far. Straight up info in the thread on what it is and how it works, great communication regarding how to purchase and when to expect it at my doorstep.

I've definitely enjoyed my touch but need more time before having much more than that to offer. It's got to break into the starting lineup of a two man team (mi + nano) and that's not an easy task to pull off. But I'm a good coach. I'm sure I'll make it work and that the team will grow stronger together as one forever.

My first go at it when I got it was a good time. Lots of fun getting overly medicated in my quest to familiarize myself with things. (Nice to have those days that you can dedicate to the truly important things.) This past weekend led to a combustion event. I had lost the feel. No casualties. And definitely not a defect of the device. All had to do with my feel for the trigger. Seems the coil is heftier than the coil on the mi (I'm no tinker so I couldn't tell you either way) so it's not going to forgive an overly long stay on the sensor, especially with a fine grind (not that I grind but sometimes things get fine at the bottom of your stash bin). I'll definitely keep it to a medium grind at most going forward, with the screen forward toward the top of the stem/bowl (mostly for ease of loading smaller amounts of material--the mvt works just fine with smaller amounts ). I know my timing on the mi, now I need to figure it out with the mist. I suspect I'm not too far off. I have to lay off looking at the coil through the glass as an indicator and trust my counting. If you see the coil glowing your finger should probably be off the sensor.

On demand portable convection is just about as good as it gets in my universe. Fast effective flexible. FEF.

Changed the price of the Touch to $180. Everyone on the list before yesterday is in at the price they signed up at. Going to offer a version without the kill switch for $150. The switch costs less than a dollar but installing it takes a lot of time.
I found a technique for finishing the wood even nicer. A beeswax coat and hi speed buffing makes it shine.

@mistvaporizer I will volunteer to take mine without a kill switch if you will substitute a short amber stem for the clear. What say you? I am wilwo number 22 on the list.

Edit: this thing is so pretty I may wait a few weeks to fire it up.

The new stir tool is great, very nicely made and quite useful, mine is Bolivian Rosewood (it is actually an ideal VapCap tool too)

That's my fancy trimmed Touch with my tulipwood stem from @Alan, matches it perfectly but these crappy photos can't do these exotic woods justice unfortunately...

I need to test the new short joint wood stem more, I've got the new heater screen installed now as well. It was pretty easy, just had to go carefully and make sure to insert it all the way. It can be tough but then it does have a noticable final stopping point. Now I notice a bit of the heat loss, but am getting the hang of accounting for it with button and draw techniques depending on my stem. As always, still plenty more testing to do!

I have a question. I have read the entire thread but can't remember. Are the standard Arizer stems compatible with the MVT?

I should get my MVT in June and just ordered a Solo2. It would be a bonus if I could mix/match the stems. Thanks for your help in advance.
