I checked it out. It looks awesome. :rockon:Bowl packs are back if you get one of these. And the pathway narrows above the socket meaning less volume. I know what you are up to @DDave.
I'll be watching people's response to using these. The screen end is even inverted. I'll be here watching it get popular. ->DDave Mod, New DDave Mini Mod & Kit for Arizer EQ/VTower Vapes | Page 19 | FC Vaporizer Review Forum

I had so much fun with my eq last night, thanks to the v3....
I was finding flavours from my flowers, that don't even come through with the evo....

And clouds to rival the evo too....

I think this is as good as the eq can get now...

Posting this here cause I couldn't find a V-tower thread and I figure the units are pretty similar. I've used the Arizer Air and the Vapcap in the past so I have some experience with vapes and I know how to get good results. I just got the V-tower two days ago and it was working well at first. I used the elbow pack method and was getting good clouds at around 380-450F, but today I started hearing a loud squeaking noise that wasn't there before and I can touch the cyclone bowl after hitting it for a long time at 400F. Has anyone else experienced this issue in the past? It's as if the unit doesn't get as hot anymore.

Also on a side note, even when the vape was working really well I couldn't get it to combust at 500F. Is this normal? I feel like it should be combusting if I'm constantly hitting it at full temp.

If it was an EQ, I 'd say try leaving it plugged in but off for a duration. This might help warm up the transformer I've found. Then the usual leaving it on for 15+ m to warm up.

I can't account for the squeaking noise. Does it sound like say cracked glass trying to heat up? :uhh: or more electronic or electrical? Does the display behave differently? Hope these questions help.

Yea, there is more glass screen being heated up and less screen to catch the extraction. Like say the ELBs in the EVO. So much is trapped between the spaces. Where in the V3, well only 9 larger holes and ALL GLASS from the top up. I can see how you could find more flavors with this setup.

And clouds to rival the evo too? ....:D heh heh heh heh heh.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

It's definitely more of an electrical sound. If the unit still doesn't seem right I might have to return it and get a new one, but rn I'm just hoping it will magically start working again when I use it tonight.

I'd say return it if you can. I've never had strange sounds with mine and it was used to begin with. I've also never tried combusting and keep the temperature in the 200-300 range.

Herb gardener...
How much is shipping on Dave kit to the UK please?

I've not had my Q out for ages, might have to finally get the ddave and breathe some life into it.

I'm not 100% sure, although iv ordered loads from him....

If I remember correctly I think a 30 dolla kit works out at 30 uk quid with delivery.
@DDave pays some I think... not sure...

That new silicone whip utterly completely SUCKS. Dust sticks on it. This is not for vaping . They really need to change to the previous one

The dust does stick to the outside of it...
But the inside surface will stay clean....

With the added flexibility and less health concerns, I'll still choose silicone over pvc any day...

Herb gardener...
thanks m8

ill get in touch with ddave when im ready to order.

If I'm not mistaken.....
(Correct me if I'm wrong @DDave)
But there is a 420 sale about to go active....
No time like the present....

No one regrets a ddave kit, and my last order came in about 3 days.... amazing...
Iv been having so much fun with the new v3 kit....
I'm obsessed with using the concentrate set up for small amounts of flower...

The levels of taste im stripping from different strains is just very very nice....

All vape, no smoke please.
Friend, from what I understand, there are 2 main differences / improvements on the DDave kit over the stock cyclone bowls for the EQ

First off, it is only an add-on / replacement parts kit for the EQ, not an actual vaporizer itself. You must already own an Arizer EQ or V-Tower.

The main component of the DDave kit, the "adapter" is the female / female slotted glass tube which has the screen in the center and holds your herbs. It replaces the cyclone bowls that come with the EQ.

The main differences, as far as I can tell:
  • DDave adapters are much thicker, which I guess helps them hold their temperature steadily during use, and holds more heat, for thicker, fuller extractions (right?)
  • The center holes in the DDave adapters are much larger in diameter than the cyclone bowls, which allows much greater airflow, and much bigger clouds! This actually makes the center of the glass adapter much thicker in diameter, the new V3s are so thick they barely clear the plastic ring around the glass/ceramic heater! :o It also makes it much harder to install the screens, but it's worth it when you get it installed just right.
There is a dedicated DDave mod thread also, where I just posted up some pics and videos of the gear in action, you may want to read up over there.

There are also various assorted accessory pieces, and other options for the EQ vape that Dave offers, but that's the basics, hope that helps you decide.

Ok have to ask what a Ddave kit is I'm looking to purchase one of these and was reading through. Now I'm curious before I buy?
I don't know much.

Now to me the @DDave kit made my "Q" function insane (as in good)

I use the pieces for my MOD'S as well.

If your a VAPORIST without a ddave kit you might have a dis-order?

Maybe your 1,200 year behind development?
Or your suit maybe BROWN?
Grow indoor if you are in a cold zone?
Outdoors if you live where the weather and soil is choice.
CANNABIS is SAFER than BEER or MILK!
Why is it illegal?

Thanks for the fast response man definitely something I'll be looking into a little more before buying but that should be great help. I'll be reading into this thread today. I was confused at first, thought it was something completely different. I think from all the positive reviews on it I'll be picking one up today most likely. Any suggested online stores for the EQ?

as I am reading through again I see ddaves website.

I got all excited after reading about the ddave mods, went to order the mini mod kit last night and the delivery is almost as much as the kit itself. Does anyone know if there are any suppliers of ddave mods in the uk?

Hey everyone! So i actually just got this vape, thought it was cool for the price. My first vape (bought because FC members recommended it! And it is still great) was the SSV. Still working 7 years later. I also have a Firefly2, Crafty, and gave away my air to a friend in need. (Thats probably why i decided to try the EQ, and also was curious about a bag-delivery system).

So anyway got it yesterday, was messing around with it and tried both whip and bag methods. Honestly once i got the bag thing down even just a bit, i realized its very pure and potent vapor. Its not dense like Volcano vapor but its still nice and potent. I notice i dont see much in the first balloon, but by the 3rd, def tasty visible vapor. I tried the whip mode next and I got results, but def didnt come too close to SSV quality. The main problem i think is just the glass takes a long time to heat up, and I use my SSV with Spherical Ground Glass so it immediately produces vapor. I guess i should not be afraid of higher temps (with most of my direct portables and such i typically dont go above 190C) and also EQ prolly needs to stay at the set temp for like 5 mins it seems. I feel like i shouldnt even put the herbs in until its been 5 mins.

I also started reading this thread and about packing the "elbow bowl" instead and im def gonna try that. If you guys have any tips for a new EQ user, please let me know! I'll def keep reading through the old pages of this thread :)

Exactly like you (i am in France)..
I made myself a kit by trying to follow the same Logic.
I bought on dhgate two straight adapters as well as the Wormhole Bowl (quite expensive however). This DIY system worked well enough !!

@FractaLSD the eq is a brilliant machine, but relies on alot of heatsoak to work...

I used to leave mine in for ages, so it's ready when I need it....

I left it on for 4 days once with a fresh load in it, it bearly degraded it..
And that was with a @DDave kit, so pretty close to the heater...

As for the ddave kits to the UK / Europe.... iv had loads off him over the past few years, the man is a pleasure to deal with, and the kits are so reasonably priced that I don't mind the shipping. I can't remember it being that much???

And for what it does the the eq... well worth it..

I've bought two of the adapters you mentioned me a while ago(in the pic above) and found that the silicone tube kinks right on the top of the adapter, almost fully obstructing the airflow. How did you deal with that?
Could you also post a pic of the wormhole bowl?

The silicone I use (from vapefiend.co.uk), doesn't do this...
But there are solutions for even the floppiest of silicones...

The easiest way round this is with a simple support collar..
Just a small section of silicone slipped over the weak point, should add enough strength to stop the kinking issue....

I have bought a silicone tube from them shortly ago and tbh haven't tried with the adapter. Thanks for the tips @kellya86, you always there to support us noobs.
One more question: is the da Buddha wand 18mm? As I could find some cheap ones and can probably use it as a main wand.
What about the dabuddha silicone tube? Is that the same size as the EQ?
