What to do with brick weed?

I have a grower friend who gave me a ton of his 'trimmings' since he is no longer growing. It doesn't look super clean and definitely not the best in terms of quality. That said, the teenager boy in me tells me I can't just throw all this away.

I'm not super familiar with cooking or making anything, but sure can try.

1150A,
Personally I'd toss it.
Maybe someone else can chime in...there are ways to make concentrates from it. Depending on the trichome coverage it may not be worth the effort though.

Thing is we have no idea what this trim looks like or if it has any trichomes.
When I trim my plants it's mostly just plant matter....nothing I would save.

You can grind it and then run it through mesh to get some kief. From there you can process it into concentrate or press it into hash.

I have a friend that buys trimmings from a professional grower, specifically to make BHO concentrate. Its composed of fan leaves and some sugar leaves from mature female plants. I've dabbed this stuff and its strong! Its also great for edibles.

This saying of 'trash to treasure' has merit, so don't throw your stuff out unless its moldy. Of course the end result depends on the quality of the trimmings, but you might be surprised. I've also turned bush weed, full of seeds, into strong edibles.

You could also do a simple coconut oil extraction if you're not familiar with BHO production methods.

Now is the time to learn to make bubble hash. If you master hashmaking with trim (provided the trim is of sufficient quality), you will be rewarded with the best possible results. I have a lot of experience with almost all solvent and solventless extraction methods, and in my experience I would not ever do anything with trim except for run it into bubble. If you don't get full melt, make rosin ;)

Solvent runs with trim IME can be done reasonably well, but the solvent extracts don't come remotely near the quality of full melt or bubble rosin made from good trim.

+1 on coconut oil, over saturate the mix though...meaning, use as much trim as you can in the oil and after straining it put the oil back on the burner and use more trim...repeat 3-4 times to get the end product potent.

the most simple way is to grind the material in a coffee grinder... add the dust grind into a fat soluble medium and eat... it's plant material and we eat plants!
how I do it...
pick out what you do not want, seeds etc... grind..
put ground material in small glass dish... microwave for 11 seconds, take out stir, and micro another 11 seconds... this decarboxolates the cannabis ...
add it into olive oil to soak up and then into the main meal...
nut butters are easiest to work with, peanut, almond.. etc/

depending on trim and method you can turn it into a high quality concentrate. With ethanol extraction I turned trim into shatter before

Bubble would probably be best now that I think about it. It would certainly be better than dry sift.

Free trim is free so anything remotely usable is awesome.

To make coconut oil for cooking, I take out twigs n seeds then grind in coffee grinder. Put it in a pyrex dish and add about twice grindings volume of coconut oil.

Flash point is ~190degC, so cook at 185degC in kiln for 4 hours, stirring every hour.

You can either add this directly to your brownies or sieve it off and put a teaspoon in your coffee

First find out what strain it came from, was it sexed correctly and so on. If it's brickweed usually known as or aka dirtweed....If it's that junk you'll do nothing but get yourself a headache and the gagnons.. yikes save a life and destroy it all. If not you've got a few options if it's not to old by now. Best of luck to you.
