@Little Bill you may be up sooner than you think. I am seeing about 15% dropout rate.
Once again I am seeing people just not responding and I don't like posting this here because most people who read this are very cooperative. I posted guidelines on the list page and will probably change up to give people less time. Seems people who want in answer quick and either get their unit or drop out for whatever reason. I had one person ask to go to the bottom of the list and the next time their turn was up they settled quickly.
I'm tracking all this activity and will remember (I did database work for many years and all the sales, drop outs and feet dragers are duly noted). It takes a lot of effort to do this and I have been very accommodating with people but that is going change.
Again my apologies for posting here since most of you are also accommodating to my schedule but people just don't get it, it shouldn't take a week to have 6 people respond and purchase or drop out.

Apples and Oranges kinda since Zion is regulated and the 18mm you know? We can discuss more in PM though so not to go off topic here, but Zion is definitely more capable overall (I'd compare Zion to Tubo, which we'll both be able to do soon enough... Then this could be compared to Milaana, which we've done here a few times) and far less portable

I think you've been more than patient with people, I think waiting less before moving on to next in line is a good idea. If most people who want it respond with in 24hours that's plenty of time, if for some reason you move on and the person came back late saying they still wanted it, you can put them at the top of the list vs bottom to be nice. You're being very reasonable, this shouldn't be an added time suck inconvenience for you, I think a lot of people saw a waitlist without financial commitment and were like what the hell I'll get on and see. You could also try starting a deposit system so people are committed, it's annoying how some people ruin things for others by not being considerate of the other perspectives involved

I definitely agree with the @Shit Snacks' comments. I hate the idea of prepayment for a product that isn't even on the market yet (Nope, won't do it. I'd rather pay full price upon launch), but this vape is being shipped, so there's no risk.

I was on the waitlist for the MVT, as well as the Tubo (on its way to me currently), and now for Dan Morrison's next vape. Sometimes the timing might suck for cash flow, but a commitment is a commitment. People could at least respond to the good man's emails!

Yeah, as I said earlier in the thread regarding this same topic, if people aren't checking their email (and junk folder) more than once a week or so, that's on them and not you, Dave. Life is all about timing, and if you snooze, sometimes you lose. Personally, I couldn't answer your emails fast enough when I got them. And I'm damn glad I did. :D

Agreed and I would suggest that a mere NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $25 would likely get the job done!

:myday:

My deposit now is the two batteries and a charger I couldn't resist getting. I need to update my paypal card soon so I can order some stems from Alan. I do think a deposit makes sense to lock in a price. We know the MVT early adopters got a lower price and don't get the product upgrades which have been numerous. I'm going to guess the price will stabilize at a number that makes sense. I think $150-$170 with a few inexpensive screens and stems supplied. It really depends on the long term quality and performance of the MVT. I paid a premium for the Crafty because of the S&B reputation. If you read the entire thread as I have; you realize that @mistvaporizer is every bit as solid as S&B. I'm a fan.

I am not defending anyone who doesn't give Dave an answer one way or the other.

I would like to point out how this month has Easter for the Christians and Passover for the Jews. Both of these holidays cost money and folks may be a bit short on "ready cash".

I can understand that if someone is a bit short and does not want the embarrassment of being skipped.

Perhaps your e-mail should be "earlier" (e.g. we expect to ship your unit in the next 30 days how would you like to pay?)

Or, offer an option in the e-mail to be skipped for others who have ready cash.

Bottom line, Dave does not have time to run after people to get paid. If you have a problem with cash flow when your number comes ask to be skipped.

hey y'all, just got an email for the mistvape and I think I will pull the trigger but first I would like to know if the coils are user replaceable?

@Vape Dr. I saw your video on the touch and I liked what I saw. How is your mistvape holding up and what are your thoughts? Can you compare to the Firewood 4 or another on demand vape?

Are there more pics of the unit? All sides, intake etc????

I appreciate the info and sorry if the coil thing has been covered.........thanks!

Hey man, nice to see you here, I think you will enjoy this very much! So you have FW but no Milaana yes? So this unregulated on demand pure convection heating has a learning curve ala MFLB, you will develop technique

Coils are not user replaceable really, but also there shouldn't be any reason to replace it anyway. You can send it in if need be, but I don't see why there ever would be...

There are quite a few photos of the latest units in here and on the site, could try searching or skimming, not that long of a thread yet. I will post some fresh photos with comparison shots too when my new Touch arrives

I have not had good luck with usps recently. Although my expected delivery date is/was today somehow the last scan it ended up about 40 miles further away then it originally was after a scan this morning at 330am. In the opposite direction of my house. I think it got loaded onto the wrong truck because i have never seen this before, it went right past me if that makes any sense. Hopefully they will straighten it out tomorrow.

Sent an email out this morning, got the reply, invoiced, got paid and the Touch is in the mail.
Now that's what I'm talking about. Wish I knew the individual's FC handle and I would thank them publicly for being so cooperative.

Similar to what happened with me ya?

Think I jumped a few spots in line lol. Def not a bad thing but yeah man I'd say either ask for a deposit, or say upfront if you don't get a response in 24hrs it's on to the next one.

That sure wasn't me but I think I managed to settle up before getting bounced. Thanks man. Great communication on your part. That will get you 'wore out,' as they say in SC (where I'm not), but for sure customers appreciate it. Looking forward to getting after the MV, my soon-to-be third high functioning convection device. I'm too effing spoiled.

The MVT works so well with concentrates, the best is dry sift/kief cause you can use it alone (without cotton or mesh screen)!

Got a sunday morning session with a quasi full melt moroccan kief, if you heat it a bit it sticks like crazy to your fingers and while coldened looks like shatter, I will try to press some in rosin.....maybe it wil be my first +50% yield attempt (I think so)!

ps: just finished the session using my touch paired with a water tool and still got some thick clouds...I think I totally drained the battery now!

see www.mistvaporizer.com/instructions there is a battery section

I made a new screen forming gadget that produces the new heater screen. These stay in nicely, takes over 2 kg of force to dislodge them. They are 60 mesh and start out as 5/8" discs. The current screens are 80 mesh and 1/2" diameter. This means the new screens have more mass and will steal a bit more energy from the battery but I think it is a trivial amount. Hope to get some out to testers in the next couple days.

Here is a pic of the tapered punch positioned on a 5/8" diameter 60 mesh SS screen. You can't see the other part of the forming die but it is a tapered hole that matches the tapered punch.
xQUFlw7.jpg

After pressing the screen into the form it looks like this
6TwHT65.jpg

This a side view of a finished screen
4Re0Ihe.jpg

Notice the sides are tapered a bit. The best measurement for the 14/20 joint taper I could measure was about 3.8 degrees. The tapered side is about 1/16" high so that gives a good bit of surface area holding onto the inside of the stem. For the screen to be pushed through the stem the top diameter has to get compressed. I inserted a screen into a female stem and stood the stem upright on a scale. Then I pushed down on the screen with a small dowel rod. The scale registered 2.5 kilograms before the screen came loose.
These can be retro fit to an existing unit. More in a bit

Here is a wood positioning dowel, I had to make the end a little smaller in diameter
4tMoHlX.jpg

Then you slide it into position
BSpa2JL.jpg

It is pretty easy to tell when it is seated.
o8XuSKg.jpg

You can see where the male stem ends, just a tiny bit above the screen.
I need to figure out how to put a "stop" on the positioning dowel so you can't force the screen through.
I'll be sending some of these off to testers and confirm that it works and I'm not missing something just because I like this set up. The other solution involved custom glass stems which I almost had made, thank goodness I ran out of money. That would have been several $K down the tubes.
Thanks again to @Fat Freddy his question made me think.

Deciding whether to take my name off the list. I'm a bit overwhelmed with having gotten both the Tubo and Zion the same day. But the mvt is such a temptation. I've been telling myself that I don't need it. But I didn't "need" the 4 vapes I bought nor the extra dynavap stems. I'm still about 2/3 back so I'm going to wait and see.
