ok . . I have to add this one. Alan Colmes died the other day. I had no idea he started as a stand up comedian but it makes sense to me now. I only agreed with some of what what he said, which is a lot for me for political people, but what I always loved about him was his smile, his sense of humor, and his sense of human decency that transcended politics. I will definitely miss him . . . :rip:

I don't think anyone would know who Allen Colmes is if they didn't watch Fox News. He was their token liberal who was brought in anytime they needed someone to debate against.

His death did come as kind of a shock though but I gotta say that beginning about 6 months ago, I thought that there may be something wrong in that he didn't quite look like he used to look. Couldn't put my finger on it though. Now it makes sense.

Like T, I had no idea that he was a standup comedian.

It really is sad anytime we lose someone at such a relatively young age. I wonder what he was suffering from. I don't think that was ever released.

Exactly . . . I kept looking at him on TV and thinking to myself "this guy looks terrible . .. "

Alan was married to Monica Crowley's sister.

Damn. I'm really starting to dread this thread. Every time I see it pop up in my alerts I get a little nervous cause I never know who's next. Bill Paxton was in a lot of movies that I really enjoyed. I always felt that he seemed to have a calming tone to his voice. Maybe not in all his movies like Aliens.

Game over man, game over.

Bill Paxton was one of the real kings of sci fi film. If you pick an iconic action/sci-fi franchise, this man was in it (Terminator, Alien, and Predator, right off the bat), and always putting some damn polish on it. His performance in Aliens was so iconic it's practically a character archetype now. Without doing an actual count, he may be in the credits of more movies that I have liked enough to buy on disc than any other actor, just due to his prolific and dedicated acting in genres I love.

Salute. Won't be the same without you Mr. Paxton.

Robert Osborne of TCM dies. I enjoyed his commentaries and appreciated his knowledge of films and the actors that starred in them.

R.I.P Robert

Robert Osborne, genial face of TCM, dead at 84

Osborne, who began his career as an actor, was a columnist for The Hollywood Reporter. He was the on-air host of Ted Turner's fledgling classic movie network from its inception in 1994. He was there from the start, to introduce "Gone With the Wind," and remained Turner Classic's primary — and often sole — host since.

For TCM viewers, Osborne was a constant and calming presence. He introduced films with bits of history and trivia, and conducted interviews with stars about their favorite old films.

He was soooooo good. With all the smiles and laughter that you gave us Mr. Rickles, you deserve a rest and then after that, do us all a favor and roast God. Now THAT would be something worth seeing. The material would just be priceless..........:lmao:

R.I.P. Funny man.
Little funny story told by Eddie Murphy.

Apparently very early in Mr. Murphy's career he was doing a gig in Las Vegas and found out that Rickles was going to be in the audience. So, Eddie gave it his all and went up to Mr. Rickles hoping for some compliments and tips. But all Rickles said to him was "kid, you ain't never going to make it with all of that profanity".

Many years later, Murphy is in Vegas again. He's a giant star now. He has movies out now. He's A list all of the way. While there in Vegas he goes into the rest room to take a whiz. As he's standing there at the urinal, up walks Rickles to the urinal next to him. Rickles never looked at him and just says, "hey, who knew!" LOL
