I've been using my haze for the last few days......I'm not sure I'm using it properly?

I'm not getting any big hits really!

Takes a week or 2 to break in believe it or not. Other things that affect vapor production are grind, tamp, and most important screens, can, top etc. You need to play around to find out which works best. What temp settings are you using. I start on 1 for most of the bowl, bump to 2 to finish it off sometimes 3 if I am splitting the session into 2 or 3 mini sessions. Depends on the flower being used too.

Vaping yields less smoke than combusting but once you get the hang of what works best you can get decent clouds. Lower temp = better flavor, higher temps more clouds more head high usually too.

I'm using the convection screens, didn't really like the can for herb and not tried any oil yet.

I start off on temp setting 2 then move up to 3 near the end. I'm not sure if I'm drawing it properly. I'll pack a couple more bowls and see how i get on.

I've got a bit of oil I can try later

Does the oven time out?

When packed properly setting 1 works great. It was one of the bigger improvements over the v2 and v2.5 increasing the temp so that level 1 works well on flower. As I have said I have never even used the screens. Try cutting a piece of screen to fit inside the cans and lay it over the top of your can before closing with the lid. You need to experiment to see what works and if you are still not happy contact Haze.

I think the haze shuts off if not used for 5 minutes or something like that. Also best to wait about a minute after the lights stop flashing and about 30 seconds between hits. If you don't wait between hits you get less vapor for sure.

When I first got my V2 I found the same thing but it got better as it broke in and as I learned how to use it. I think my V3 also got better after a few weeks. No idea why that is.

I forgot to look back and see if you are new to vaping or not. Have you already been using a vaporizor? If not, I recommend going to the "resources" section and reading the article about combustion v. vaping because it will help. Additionally, I have these questions:

How are you packing?
How hard are you tamping down?
How does the draw feel?
What is your definition of a "big hit"?
If you want big clouds, you will not find them on level one, although, as you rise in temperature, you are releasing different actives from lower temperatures.

Re: cans - just checking, did you put it in backward? That will fuck up your bowl. I have done that a few times, myself. Tab to the front, opening against the draw hole. I think many cloud chasers do prefer convection screens.

@George1151 Oops! You forgot about back-to-back posts. No worries, the mod will probably join them. What will adding a screen on top do? Does it keep smaller bits from being inhaled? I found that to be a problem with using the screens.

Also...tried the denture cleaner. My cans had a lot of "patina" so they needed two soaks and some scrubbing with a simple dish scrubby but LOOK at the difference:

I added my 2nd post of the back to back and tried to delete the 2nd post but don't see how to delete it.

I started using a screen because with the original silicone lids I would get bits of flower through the vapor path. I wasn't using the screen with the metal tops, however, I was away for awhile and took my Haze with me and started playing around and I found that hits from the cans covered (and pressed down) by the screen were quite a bit better than bowls that had no screen so I started using it all the time. Not for particles now but for better hits. The new silicone lids don't work very well with the screen because the lid has the protruding holes in the center now and they are too deep to fit the lid on snugly using the screen over top. But with the older lids and a screen covering the flower I am getting for sure nicer hits. Even tried just breaking up a nug into a few pieces with no grinding and a screen on top and that worked about as well as grinding with a good grinder.

I used the conduction screen and cut off the sides and it fits nice inside the can. Haven't tried the screens under the steel tops yet but will tonight to see how that works. It's an extra step for sure using a screen in the can but the results have been worth it for me.

This is my first herb vape.

I'm pretty sure i read on this thread somewhere that you should pack the bowl quite tight. I've tried loose, I've tried tightly and inbetween. Loose ran out straight away. Tightly packed and inbetween lasted longer and has a better taste. The temp control lights go off after around 5 minutes I'd say, but i was still using? Maybe it has a heat cut off point, safety precaution?

With the can I'm pretty sure i had it the right way round. I'm up for trying it again. With using the cut screen, do you use that instead of the can steel lid or silicon lid?

Maybe i need to wait longer between hits.

Big hit - either clouds or /the feeling of being high.

there did seem to be a break in period for mine as well... now it pulls like a champ one the first heat setting...
that seems correct, not to light of a pack and not to tight... I use degummed hemp fiber nowtoo with the loads to help preserve the precious herb... you can do the hemp fiber in the can too to lessen amounts and it filters the vapor to some extent

I don't think I'm a fan of the low settings.
Tried the cut screen in the can with the lid on, packet the can but didn't tamp down, let the lid push down not to tight though. Setting 2, wait around a minute after the lights stop flashing before i draw. Draw slowly and wait around 30 seconds to hit again. Was getting nice vapes and a little tickle in the throat.
I think i still prefer the screens. I'll keep playing.

I personally have been using the conduction screen the most with a mound of hemp fiber on top of the herb.. this screen will make the chamber dirty but it can be cleaned with iso... I've dedicated one herb chamber to screens and the other chamber for cans

I've given the unit its first clean today, need to get some pipe cleaners for the chamber airways. I'm gonna try and get in the habit of everyother day cleaning.

My favorites are the screens so far, I'll try different packing techniques

using a pipe cleaner I had issue with the fibers in the cleaner pulling off into the tiny air path going from the bowl to the main and clogging in there... I use q tips for the main air pathway but they will not fit into the bowls air outlet... that little airway does not need cleaning as much as the main IMO... there is a youtube of cleaning the device a few pages back here on the thread, really shows a good way to do it and the cleaning kit offered from haze ( have not tried it personally) could have a different pipe cleaner than the one I use that does not get fibers stuck in there

I use a qtip after every session. Much easier to clean and you get more gunk out when the unit is warm (ie right after shutoff and battery removal). Almost never have to use iso this way and unit is always like new. Never even tried to clean the holes in the bowl.

If a small piece of pipe cleaner gets stuck in the bowl you can simply blow it out through the air path. I alway do that after a clean to ensure nothing has been trapped.

I did not clean them for a long time and when I did it was noticeably better... except for the fibers in the pipe cleaner, Ughhh...

I'll be honest I do not tamp down at all. I just toss some bud in it and that's it. I use the can and convection screens. Just scoop my bud into the can, place lid on top and I'm ready to roll. I usually vape from 1-3. Sometimes step up after every few hits. Not all the time.

Personally I would not start a session of flower at level 3. I sometimes use 3 to get the last out of a can but the taste is pretty gross compared to 1 and even 2.

with a light pack the herb will actually tighten up on it's own once heated air goes over/through it..... it will stay tight until the stickiness is vaped out and then dries up some and loosens back up... it's called Clogs , air clogs

Bikes don't leak oil, they mark their territory!
That was a recommendation from a Haze rep. and if you want clouds (not flavor) try that it works, if you want flavor stay on settings 1-2. I'm not a cloud chaser, I start out with my first 2 hits on setting 1 to get the flavor then I kick it up to setting 2 until I can not see any vapor then I'll finish with setting 3, I never use setting 4 with flower. I've tried this technique that was recommended and maybe because it was a can instead of a screen it worked great and did not "clog" at all and it was evenly vaped.
Great Product! It gives you clouds if you want clouds, it gives you flavor if you want flavor, it evenly vapes the material, it just depends on what you personally want out of it. Everybody is different just experiment with it. And believe me I've done a few experiments with it
and I've enjoyed every experiment! :science: and I'm pretty sure you will too.
