Da Buddha

Has anyone found a way to use glass screens with Da Buddha? I've had mine for several years, and I'm really tired of buying screens. Buy them from 7th floor and you pay out the ass for shipping. Go to a head shop just for screens and they aren't happy. Or even worse you get shitty screens.
Why are you going through screens? I have had my DaBuddha for several years and am still on my second screen. Lost the first one. An ISO bath every once in a while and the wand and screen stay like new.

I recommend just buying like 100+ in one go off ebay; That should last you quite a while.
ISO-ing them is good too

Does anyone have an opinion on the essential oil kit for DaBuddha? Is there a quartz, ceramic or SiC nail option if I don't like the titanium? With the sale that makes it $70 plus shipping. I can't buy a cheap dhgate enail for that.

Thanks, Mike

Here's the SSV/DBV/LSV Ddave Mod thread: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/ddave-mod-for-ssv-dbv-lsv.19835/

I read the whole thread but when I got mine I was surprised how straightforward it is to use.

Essentially it moves the load closer to the heater so you have greater control over the type of hit you can get. Therefore you also have more options as far as grind size, draw strength/speed and vaping temperature. I like low temp hits with the water pipe adapter to a bong.

I havent had any hash since I got the mod but ideally I want to be using mostly bubble hash with some herb to "round out" the high and the mod gives the ability to do very precise extraction.

IMO it's a must have for DBV/SSV/LSV owners.

First time poster and recent new member , found a steal of a deal on a da buddha and I had to take it.ive used every 7th floor model but this one. Similar to ssv so I shouldn't have a problem getting going :)
Any tips are welcomed ! It's been a while since I've had a 7th floor vape.
Ddave mod has had my eye for the last few days as well...worth it ? The $50 package seems like a lot but looks like it has everything you would ever need, including ability to use concentrates .I've heard of fc discounts as well , hopefully I can use that even though I just joined ?
Future thanks to any helpful advice. Been reading on here for several years now , so much information

Dbv rocks! Will take a few days to get it fine tuned I'm sure. Heater cover is super loose and moves up and down very easily . It has the new retention clip.any tips for a tight hc would be sweet .might need a new one honestly it just slides up and down practically , when heated up.

with the HC removed, tighten the screws on the clip, and then force it into a tighter position than it was, (bend it toward the element slightly). You will find that you have just tightened the retention clip and can now install the HC in a more snug condition.

My method is to just turn up the unit to max temp with nothing in it and take a few draws. After a few pulls you'll notice it draws easier and you aren't exhaling anything visible and you're good to go for a few more sessions before repeating this process.

Yeah buddy I used to do this with my first vape, Da Buddha! Still use the method with other convection vaporizers that use a screen. DBV is a solid vape that makes smooth vapor.

about the d-dave mod for the buddha if you want a cheap not hands free experience, with a screen closer to the heat, just put the screen on the other side of the wand (i found that trick when i broke a wand) . this way you are closer to the heat and smaller quantities are used

to clean screens i throw them on a heating stove for a minute and rinse with cold water its perfectly clean every time

Just that dude
I've been using the same exact screen for 5 years now. I just take one of those long stove lighters and heat until red. Blow on it with force a few times and comes out clean. I'm that cheap. Might try the... Use with nothing in it on high temp. I hate trying to place the screen back in.

Got my DB last week and haven't fired up the bong since, which has to be the true test of any vapo. :ko:

Shipping took about three and a half weeks (to the Netherlands), but considering the shipping cost was very low ($10 or so), that's perfectly ok. Packaging was fine, and everything survived the trans-Atlantic trip. The included bag is BUD-UGLY (no pun!), but - hey - it was included, so who cares.

Stuff I ordered with DB: one of the 'ice chamber's (about $65, which is a bit steep imo - I could personally do without any painting on it), extra stir tool, 3m extra tubing (for fuckups and 'experiments') and 10 extra screens.

I have to say first impressions were not entirely positive. My DB has a slight wobble because the rubber feet aren't exactly matched, and the fact that the glas cover actually freely turns over the ceramic heater made me a bit nervous. Until I realized it can't not, so was designed that way - and actually, it's pretty handy when sharing the whip, for it reduces the chance of pulling out the whip, since it can turn left and right a bit.

Material quality is great! The glass connectors feel very high quality, the ice chamber is a solid piece and the tubing is nice and 'fleshy'. The whole thing with the ice chamber attached looks pretty good too, although the DBV logo is pretty tacky, which isn't worth mentioning really. Just don't lose the stir tool in the couch, since it's extremely sharp...

A word on the instruction leaflet: it's very clearly written, and I think a beginner would find it easy to get started with the DB after reading it. Not a trivial point imo.

I tried DB first without the ice chamber and got pretty much what I expected (I've had a Vapor Brothers for a couple of years): strong hits on a nicely filled bowl, less so with small loads. I tend to vape at high temperature (about 2/3 to 3/4 on DB) and blow out a load on the first few hits, with stirring doing very little afterwards. It wasn't until I hooked up the 'ice chamber' (which is really 'just' a bong) that I fell in love with this little beast! Vaping through it is just so much more comfortable: the vape is cooler, there's no chance of any debris hitting your lungs when drawing (something which happened a couple of times with the Vapor Brothers) and, maybe best of all: it really is just like toking a bong, but without the actual smoke, which makes the permanent switch from smoking to vaping a lot easier, and more fun.

On the minus side: the ice chamber doesn't really moisten the vapo, in my experience, so I still get a soar throat from drawing dry air. But I'm confident that experimenting with temperature, draw-speed and actual fluids in it will help, and I highly recommend getting one, since it simply adds so much to the vaping experience.

A week on, I'm very happy with DB, and I have every confidence that it will keep me happy for a long time to come. The DB was a late-comer on my shortlist, which included the HerbalAire, Arizer Extreme and the Volcano. After deciding to forget about balloon vaping altogether, it became a simple choice. I like the DB for what it is: a lo-tech (a good thing, not a bad thing imo!), high quality vapo with a solid manufacturer (they've been around for a good long while) behind it, at a very reasonable price.

Posting this review on other forums too, fyi.

Try hooking up to your bong, 7th Floor vapes in that group rock through water once you get them setup and dialed in.

Ok DBV fans help out a fellow traveler! I am looking for a accessory for my DBV. Looking for a way to hang up the mouthpiece and tube between hits. I could fashion something out of a wire hanger but it would be crude looking. I could see something attaching to the round metal part of the DBV.

I took a pair of pliers and a hanger and made this:

However, something made out of wood would be nice. Something you can just slide on that side.
