Well, i got my 250€ vapman, and overall i am pretty disapointted.

The vape itself is beautiful. As an object it is great, it looks amazing, crafstmanship is great, nothing bad to say about it.
As a vape it just doesn't work for me.

The bowl is far too small to make sens. Even packed with quality herbs it takes me 3 full loads in a row to get anywhere, this takes so much time it's just not worth doing. Also it's not like you can use it casually whilst doing something else, it is the main event and needs full attention.
Even if I were to use the heating station, I would still have to load this thing over and over! Maybe most happy users are micro dosers?
Not a fan of the mouthpiece either, tried ebony and plastic, didn't like them. I really think it gains a lot from using a longer glass stem, the MFLB stems fit great and are cheap.
Most importantly, i find the vapour underwhelming, compared to what i get from any of my electric power vapes, even after working out a technique to get very even dark brown avb without combusting, it is still nothing close to the vapour i get from my Herborizer, Mighty, IQ, or even my now dead GH.

I guess as a low tech "zombie survival" vape it kinda makes sens, but at home there is no valid reason for me to use it IMO. It's just not efficient enough. I would rather spend 5 minutes warming up my Herborizer and hitting a bowl in 3 hits, than spend 15 minutes loading/heating/unloadin the vapman over and over.
I can't imagine using it on the run either, it is just too much faff and not very discreet.

Overall, great looks, but i just don't see how it makes sens compared to anything else, especially at that price.

Very sorry to hear VM isn't working out for you, but as you say it's not for everyone (what could be, really?). It can't be set up for users with hearty appetites like yours and yet have a bowl suitable for those on the frugal end of things. These things aren't magic, if you want lots of THC coming out you need to put a lot in. And if you want it to come out fast, you have to be willing to supply lots of power (heat) at the right time to make that happen.

VM is just tuned for the other end. It stores enough heat in normal mode to give a modest (but useful) hit on stored heat in the copper. You have to defeat that 'quantum heat storage' to get more volume. For instance, putting it on a WT and torching through the hit as some do so you can supply more total heat to the hit than VM normally allows. And concentrates might be the answer to 'not enough good stuff in one load for me'......but that's not really fixing a poor match either?

Being new and complete, hopefully it'll be easy to sell. You might consider something like the new Boundless CFC. One of the usual wags on another forum suggested I try it, being cheap (like $75 from PIU with the 15% discount). The maker has a growing reputation from older (more expensive) models, so I got one and have been playing with it off and on. I think it might be just the ticket for you.

It has a much larger bowl, on the order of .35 grams, so it holds about seven times as much as VM. It heats very fast (vapor in say 20 seconds?). That fast heat up is a clue that there's plenty of heater power on tap to support the hit.....and there is. While some guys no doubt can, I can't 'overrun' it hitting hard. Otherwise it has typical construction and features to offer, nice display, interesting shape, long runtime per charge, ceramic bowl and so on. Very little not to like if you're looking for a handy, discrete 'big gun' to put in your pocket.

Thanks, i am not really looking for a new vape, since ordering the Vapman i got a pair of Herborizers and they are IMO the ultimate home vape. And the Mighty and IQ are my travel vapes. I was just really curious about the vapman "for science", and this thread really sold it to me, but i had no need for it in the first place.

nothing close to the vapour i get from my Herborizer, Mighty,
I upgraded from Crafty to Mighty. Mighty honey moon ended recently. it is leagues better/dependable than Crafty.... That being said, besides when i must be stealthy or doing many things at once, i prefer Vapman. for quick sessions, Vapman. when i'm trying new herbs for flavor, i go to vapman. i feel its much more efficient than my Mighty. to catch equal effects with Mighty off of one vapman bowl, i'd be using at a minimum 2x the amount of herbs. Vapor wise, i can hit vapman at really low temps or at very high temps. With Mighty i stay at 353f. any higher and tomorrow my lungs will be irritated. i had the same issue with Crafty, but that temp is where i'd like to be. nice effects, lovely long lasting flavor....

Glad you gave it a go. sorry it didn't meet and exceed your expectations. My advice would be, 'Don't give up on it so quick'?!

on another note, who pulled the trigger on a 2017 Vapman Station???!
whoever you are, tell me about it! i enjoy hearing VM Station stories!! i almost pulled the trigger, but 2 things made me hold back. 1. i've been waiting long enough as it is, a little more waiting won't kill me. and 2. i considered heavily, but i don't vape inside my current home. always outside or away from home so i wouldn't be able to use the station at my leisure. i decided to wait a bit, summer time VAS has become a constant/ritual in my life!

at the end of the day i opted for a SBJr. portable, butane powered, 100% convection. can't wait to do a SBJ vs Vapman review/dog fight!!

I think you have a good sale for a new home if you do not want to give it another chance!

@Carlos8400

if you still want to try a butane vape but for larger amounts
id suggest maybe one of the sticky bricks - it will get you very medicated very quickly
wth lots of visible vapor
im using it atm ..to get really blasted

but when im in the mood for only using a little
..my tiny vapman is there for me

im using a plenty cooling coil with it
fits easily with existing adapter
..getting some nice cool puffs

Yeah, in retrospect i should have gone with a sticky brick, if only for the bigger capacity. The only reason i went for the Vapman was that it am in Europe and i thought i wouldn't pay customs tax from Switzerland and it would end up being cheaper than a brick. In the end the Vapman cost me more than what a brick would have...
I am going to give it a chance, actually going away for a few days on monday and am contemplating taking it as my only vape. See if i am pushed to combust or if i make it 4 days with only a vapman.
I think that would be a fair chance/test.

I also have a Herborizer and a Vapman+Station as my first and only vapes. 2011 i bought the Vapman but at first i was also a little bit disappointed :hmm: meanwhile i was still combusting . Then i bought the Herborizer and this was a door opener for me - at the same time i gave the Vapman another chance and got better and appreciated how both vapes satisfied different vaping needs. Herborizer and Vapman Station are mostly used on the weekend, because Herbo is perfect, but wrecks me to much on weekdays :freak:. Vapman is my daily driver, even on the go there is no problem to load/unload, store abv, vape...Vapman and the Vapman lighter are small enought to do that dicretely. I like the tasty, flavourful hits, but you can get a couple of stronger hits depending on heating time. I feel it's more like mindfullness vaping (somebody knows the "Eating one Raisin" - exercise?) small and less but potent as bong-like vaping units. Difficult to compare both in terms of which is better, because depending on my needs both are great. If you like stronger, cloudy bong-like hits, than Vapman seems not to be the first choice, but for me and vapman it was also love at the second sight :luv:

Well, day 2 of my vapman only experience and things are pretty bleak... The more i use it the less i like it.
Tried to go for a wood walk with it, couldn't get anything going whilst on the move, it's just too complicated to use whilst doing anything else.
The fact that vaping has to become the main activity really bothers me.
I have always smoked/vaped whilst doing things, and it's just not possible with this vape.
If i could just give it 100% attention for a couple minutes and move on it would be ok, but because i have to reload it 2 or 3 times in a session it just takes far too long and is far too fiddly.

Thankfully i also brought along a Chameleon Monsoon wet pipe, a bit sad to go back to combusting, but i just don't have the patience to deal with this vape.

If you like to complicate your life it might work for you, but otherwise stay away from this thing!

Hey Carlos,

I'm sorry that you don't like the vapman.

Not every vape is for everyone and it looks like vapman is not a good fit for your needs.

What you don't like about this vape is what I love about it most.

I used to smoke tobacco pipes and I used to love the ritual of smoking pipe. Loading it, lighting it, re-lighting it a few times in the session...

I get this ritual with vapman and I don't get that with any other vape I've tried.

I gave up on battery vapes because to me they're like sulking in a milkshake. Just a means to an end.

But if I understand you correctly, you are the opposite of me. You need something like a cigarette, that you can use while doing other things. You actually don't want to think about the vaping experience, but just what a fast and effective delivery system and that's it - no ritual.

While to me, the ritual is a large part of the experience for me.

Another big difference is that one bowl (one session), will get me where I need to be. I have a friend that's a really "cheap date" - with only 2 hits from the VM he gets totally hammered! Lucky bastard!

So we're all different, with very different needs and likes.

For you the vapman "complicates your life," while for others it gives them the ritual that relaxes and literally enriches their life. For all of us here, loading and using the vapman is not a chore or complication, but a real relaxing ritual.

If you read through this thread, you'll see that the two things that people like and comment on the most are:

- Wow this thing is tiny!
- I just Love the ritual!

So, again I'm sorry that vapman did not fill your needs, and it may be time to sell it and search for something else.

I'm not saying you are wrong and I am right. Not at all. I'm saying that what makes the vapman not be a good fit for you is exactly what makes me love it so much.

I hope you find the perfect vape for you. One that you just Love to use as much as we love the vapman.

Peace brother.

@The Beagle Thats a nice Combination, would like The VM+Station an dHerborizer TI myself. Now just somebody has to buy my other Vapes......

What benefits has owning the Station for you?

Have anice Day!

I own the old XL model, not the new titanium one. It's an awesome vape but I find it not ideal for everyday use, butane devices has spoiled me with their inconspicuous size and ease of use. That said it still is my flavor champion, I used it just yesterday for a tasting evening with a fellow grower friend and I still have to find a better tasting unit but it requires some dedication and it definitely isn't the most efficient vape around.

To me the Station has made the Vapman the most laid back, easy to use and joint like vape possible. I especially like it at the lowest setting for long flavorful sessions. I rarely use it with a torch nowadays and if it's the case almost exclusively with concentrates. I prefer my Omnivap for regular torch operated outdoor use as it's basically indestructible, works with any heat source and is almost combustion proof. Using it with the Station also taught me how well it can perform if heated properly and, as I have already said, I feel like it made me a better torch user.

@Carlos8400 it's a bummer that you can't enjoy your Vapman, I have the opposite feelings as you as I find it to be the easiest vape I have ever tried to operate and I especially like it in a setting like a nice wood walk. If you want to sell your station I may have a friend interested into it.

Seems like you didn't really inform yourself about the vapman before you bought it. I think its the first negative review on this thread about the vapman and it doesn't really make sense how you are reviewing your product. Your use and needs will never be suitable for the vapman. Youtube has a lot of vapman related videos where you could have seen how it is used.

I am by no means saying the vapman is a bad product, it is a lovely vape, i just don't like the function.

M0J0, you nailed it with your description! I think i could deal with it if the oven was twice the size, or could be packed a little bit more without airflow dropping, but as it is i just cannot get enough out of it to justify the time spent using it.

But like i said, it is very nice object and i am going to keep it just as an emergency low tech vape.

Only thing that would bother me after an EMP strike is that I couldn't use the station. At night, I would have to go all the way outside to the porch because apparently the torch is too noisy.. Might wake up the baby she said. That would suck.

I'm still slightly in shock at reading a negative review... I'm sure there are plenty of people who wouldn't like the VM, they just never bought it or posted their displeasure. We're not used to it on this thread. I can't wait to get home and use mine tonight !

Indeed, we are not used to it. ;-) Normally, people they don't like/need a ritual for the vaping sessions would never buy a VM.

Maybe, the inner soul of carlos8400 had once a strong & lightful influence at the time he ordered it, trying to bring him gently away from the dark side of the force.
