Excellent tip, never thought of using a sewing needle, damn holes are so damn small. That was one of the things that was kind of stopping me from using the chamber in the first place airflow. Great tip. Before I was just removing the gasket and just letting it soak in ISO.

Thanks! I could see that one of the holes in the oven was completely blocked and 2 others were almost blocked when I did a thorough cleaning a few weeks ago and resorted to the needle. It worked so well that I put a couple needles in my cleaning kit and use them every time I do a thorough cleaning now.

Peese!

Got my RMA unit today. Big difference in this unit in terms of the battery spring and strength of contact. The original one was very easy to close and the batter would disconnect with only a slight bump. This one takes some pressure to force the battery door closed and the battery doesn't short, even when knocked solidly.

Now, assuming no other problems arise with this new one I'm VERY happy. The only serious issue I has with the IQ was the bad battery compartment issue.

Hey Cobra, I watched your video. My IQ never charged very good when plugged directly in as yours is. You should consider getting an extra battery, and an external charger for your 18650 batterys, they aren't expensive and seems to charge it much, much more efficiently. You can rotate, and always have a fully charges battery.
Honestly don't know why I really have it plugged in. It's just easy I guess. I actually have 4 batteries. But don't you think that it should operate as stated and be worried what else might happen down the road. Maybe not, 10 year warranty. Wonder now if other users will give it a try.

OMG
I just got a message from Nurse Monica@ CS at DaVinci. They did an emergency autopsy on my dead IQ. It died from glass flower shards. When packed into the oven these shards will damage the oven.

DO NOT USE BROKEN GLASS FLOWERS OR PACK THEM SUPER TIGHT INTO THE BOWL.

I was told it was OK to use glass flowers, but only if unbroken and do not pack them in the oven very tightly. I was using glass pieces at the bottom of my loads to preserve the airway when packing the load. I am looking each day for the spacers to come back on the DaVinci site so I do not have to use the flowers. The flowers are messy and difficult to manage on the move. Until then I will use my extra pearl instead.

Hats off to Monica @ CS for quick response determining the failure and such a quick RMA process in replacing my IQ. I hope that others can avoid damage to their IQ by knowing about the dangers of broken glass flowers and packing them tightly. And I just have to say that CS has been extremely generous in their attempts to keep me a happy customer. This blows me away. You should definitely buy your IQ direct.

This is no way to live! @Davinci help us!

Actually the Davinci Keychain tool that comes with the IQ is designed to be used as a bowl packer. Then the pick tool that is also inserted in that keychain can be used to unload.

I was also considering the Mighty as a second vape but ended up rather getting a second IQ. As a "heavy" user, the combo serves my needs brilliantly without putting too much strain on each unit. I like this multi packing tool with the spoon, tamper and pick. They are sold as "czech smoking tobacco pipe cleaning tool" , works like a charm and are dirt cheap from any Tobacconist. The tamper part is too big to fit into the oven but works great when loading and compressing flower into your carry case. I use the spoon part to load and it works perfectly. They are stainless steel are with a brass ferrule.

The Davinci carry cases are GREAT. They are cleverly thoughtout and well designed with space for flower, 3 extra batteries and with "a smell proof zipper" you can operate incognito!

I have had good feedback and advice from the Davinci moderator on this page and my local vape shop that sold me my first IQ. When reporting my IQ issue with my local vape shop, they asked me to pop in and checked my unit and replaced it, with a new stealth unit, within 15 minutes. I live in Cape Town, South Africa and the after sales service has been just great both locally and internationally with both parties offering to replace my unit.

My issue was that my battery indicator light stayed on and flashing even whilst my unit was not plugged into any power source. It happened after I used it on boost mode whilst connected. I ran the unit very hot and i fear I "fried" something. I do not use my new IQ's via a power supply, I religiously ONLY recharge via my external battery charger. I do this by choice and have no proof that this helps but it gives me great peace of mind!
I find that the new IQ units run a lot cooler than my original IQ. I had to make a special leather cover for that unit but with the new ones I do not need it. Granted, I have 2 units now so the heat will not get that intense.

I ❤ my IQ!
Blessings!

That is a great write up and an awesome picture. I love all the extra batteries you have ready for when you run out of charge. The way the vape was really meant to be used. Great to hear your feedback on the soft case The back pocket is also made to fit the Davinci Power Bank. Any improvements you can think to make?

Be patient, get the loading technique down proper, and you will have one heck of a good vaping experience. The pure taste is exceptional. The flavor persists throughout the load.

I think the IQ requires less cleaning than the Ascent. Most of my cleaning is with ISO on an ear swab at the junction of the oven and flavor chamber. Poke and twirl via flavor chamber hole until the swab comes out clean. BTW I then use the dirty ISO swab to wipe out the oven. I do not worry about a super clean white oven.

Also, I took my dirty flavor chamber and made some hot chocolate with it . I had a really solid night's rest, still feeling the effects the next morning. The flavor chamber treated grass is too resinous to vape in the IQ. It makes a mess. My son smoked some and said it tasted like hash oil, but fuck combustion. I'm making hot chocolate.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the tips! Much appreciated.

Just got my IQ today and finished my first session with it. First off, wow, the packaging is really slick. Great presentation there. I was also surprised how small the unit is.

I chose Precision Mode for my first try of the unit, and I set the temp to 385*. Really great flavor and vapor production.

I have a feeling I'm going to be staring at the app a lot, watching it track my sessions. The app has terrible reviews on the iTunes store, but I think the functionality is quite nice.

After owning an original ticker Cloud, I'm not super surprised by a vaporizer's heat when touching it. I actually found the heat of the unit somewhat enjoyable.

Overall, I'm really excited for this vaporizer and excited to continue reading up and receiving pointers from you more experienced owners.

Hey DaVinci!

I purchased one of your Vaporizers (ordered a blue but got a stealth). I did try it and was so happy with it, I decided not to bother returning it. Everything worked great (except the overheating at times, but I can live with it). However, recently I noticed that if I place the unit down on a table, it sort of shuts off. Like without the vibration, it just goes off. I can start it after that and continue using it but was wondering if this is normal.

Return is not going to be easy as I live overseas. Other than that issue everything works great. Is this going to get worse?

Thanks in advance

Same thing happens to my device as well but I do not intend on returning it soon because it still works great. The only thing I would like see go away is the buzzing/clicking noise during the actual session. Is anyone else experiencing this? If this is a serious problem then I probably would return the unit sooner.

So if your device shuts off when you set it down then that isn't normal. I believe the rep chimed in on this, and recommended the costumer contact Davinci. Others have had this problem. Some people bent up the battery terminal so the contact is better. This has remedied some of the issues I believe. However it is recommend that you send it in instead of doing that.

The clicking/buzzing noise is normal. I think they said it was the oven.

Hope this helps! Enjoy your IQ, I love mine!!

Hey guys new member here, I was watching a video on youtube, you actually have it here further up on this page, I don't have this exact problem and this thread is pretty long. I'm not sure if it's a real issue or not only have had the unit not even a week yet but if I put it down while it's still going it seems to shut off, sorry if this has been talked about but 78 pages is a lot to go thru, thanks in advance.

Agree. The battery disconnect when you set it down is a known issue that they will RMA it for. I had mine replaced under warranty for that same issue.

Gee I'd hate to have to return it, like I said only have had it for about a week now and really love it. I've been looking thru some of these pages and you guys to say the least haven't been pleased with the return processes. From what I'm also seeing I guess it's a good thing I purchased 3rd party. I just did a session, so I'll wait for it to cool down and check the battery thermal, thanks for the advice guys.

So as a new member here I know there have been questions about some of the accessories not being available, like the spacers. Also on the video on youtube Davinci had mentioned something about a silicon case.
Davinci do you have a update on when these accessories will become available? Thanks from a new member.

Damn... looks like my unit is having the same issue as reported earlier by many regarding the battery drainage. I have 3 different batteries, so I know they are not the issue.

I fully charged my unit last night with the brand-new included battery (this took very long, longer than it should have), and I just turned the unit on to receive a notice that the battery was low (on its last bar). I'm still mid-session, but I am getting alerted about the low battery.

Mine also shows different battery levels upon turning on. It will often display a half-charged battery only to vibrate and indicate low-battery a moment later. It is confusing because when out yesterday, I wasn't sure what level the battery was at

The unit functions beautifully when it works, but the battery issue along with the vape randomly turning off has me thinking something is amiss.

My partner purchased through VapeWorld, so I hope they handle the issue quickly!

Edit: It looks like mine turns off when it is set down as well!

Call them. It's a known issue. They should send you a new one and a return label so that you don't have to go without it.

When accessories fall out of stock they are removed from the website. The spacers will be back in stock by the end of the week. A glove or cover for the IQ is still an accessory in progress and I do not have a release date for that yet.

When the IQ first powers on it begins heating which puts a drain on the battery. When heating up sometimes that drain will trigger the low battery warning. After the unit reaches heat you should be able to check the battery again and get a more accurate reading.

If the issue you are describing is more extreme than this then please contact our CS for warranty replacement/repair.

I actually just got off the phone with Ivana and started the RMA process. She was very friendly and a pleasure to deal with.

It is good to know about the warning, though.

I'm still a very happy customer, and actually might pick up a second unit for my partner.

Thanks!

Have you tried charging your batteries through and external charger? I was having the same problem. Bought an external 18650 charger and boom, no more battery problems. Seems like there might be an issue with the charging function in the IQ.

almost there

Has anyone got one of these yet?

https://vapefiend.co.uk/davinici-iq-wax-pod

Not long had the IQ still a wonderful device for me, more to cater for the missis than myself (can't hit as hard as the supreme V3, not much can) so she's still very happy with both me and it, no dog house for me .
that looks damn interesting, thanks for sharing. I am a bit hesitant because it requires the pearl to be unscrewed for usage. Unless these newer production models have more resistant post I'd be too worry about ripping the bugger right off. Those pods look very similar to the Davinci og unit's pods

Look intriguing don't they @almost there perhaps more of a curiosity than a functional way to use oil, still for the price point I mean £4 each it's worth a punt. I've not even attempted to remove the pearl yet as I've seen no need until this product peaked my interest, I have used the glass spacers a little and they work wonders for those you puff puff pass etc, lighter users like my fiancé not so much the session users using it for the full tens mins :).

Update on my battery issue. The vape shop confirmed my issue of the IQ draining the battery. I had another issue where the device would not charge via the micro usb. I have since gotten a new IQ from the shop and the issues are gone.

So, if any of you notice battery power draining away it is a real issue. Same a the non charging via micro usb.

So being a retired computer geek I have to pose this question. I have the app running on a iPhone and I'm wondering how much if any of the battery problems have to do with the app in constant communication with the device. The reason I'm asking this is because last night I put a newly charged battery in my unit that was charged by a charger, did one 10 minute session. This morning it was almost dead. Put a fresh battery in it this morning. Also later on this morning was messing around with my phone and happened to notice that the Davinci app was one of the top 3 last used apps on my phone. Now I know that wasn't true because I hadn't used the app sense last weekend. So I'm thinking that if it happens again there is a option to forget the device within the app, or just delete the app just as a test to see what happens.
