Arizer Solo II

@Vitolo I always value your input, and what you say intrigues me because I felt the exact same way about the Air. I found that there was that slightly increased airflow and it diluted the hits and the heater would always be stressed. It surprises me to hear that the Solo 2 may be similar! I would have figured with the more robust heater and higher temp, that the hits would be stellar like the Solo. Very interesting...but i'm hesitating to purchase now just based on that.

How do you mean that the oven isn't as deep? Does the bowl of the stem not go all the way in? Is there biomass not in contact with the oven? Or is it because you can't get your stem in because it's so new?

biomass is not supposed to touch the heater in either solo1 or air.
solo2 will be the same.
thats why we hamster style

You're missing my point...he said that the oven is "less deep"... so what do you think that implies? I didn't mean that the actual herb touches the oven.

I was not a fan, due to a less deep oven

Am I sure? No, I don't have the Solo 2 in my hands. I'm just reporting what I have read. Perhaps @TheChillBud can elaborate further for us? Have you ripped it hard at 210 or 220? Is the heater blinking alot?

I wish I already had this in my hands!
I usually don't vape at such high temperatures. Usually max out around 200. No need to let the unit re-heat between tokes like the original. Once you get up to temperature (few cigar puffs at the beginning) you're good to go. If you leave the unit sitting for a couple minutes you might need to re-heat the herb with a few more cigar puffs.

To address the stainless steel screens, they actually mention in the manual that you shouldn't use them if you want the best flavor / experience. I'm pretty sure they only included them because so many people had issues with herb flying into their mouth using the OG / Air. Once you get the hang of packing the glass stems you won't need an additional screen.

I've noticed a couple others have gotten their hands on the Solo II, can't wait to see how others are enjoying it.

Got mine and took a few photos: http://imgur.com/a/cY9Dc

Here are two with the solo2/solo/air:

I have only vaped a few stems so far so I can't say much yet, but I am very impressed with the heat-up time, it gets over 400F in around 20s.

@biohacker when I tested it earlier, the oven started at 80 degrees, and went to 400 in 19 seconds. The ambient temp was around 68, so the unit still had a minor amount of residual heat left from the previous session. I will let it fully cool down and re-test

Edit: still ~20 seconds to 400F after letting it fully cool down (with full battery)

Say WHAT???

Dude I haven't had my 2 GH's in over 3 weeks now, but should hopefully get them this week. Starting to forget! But one thing I never had to ever do with an Arizer product, was an RMA!

All good bro, I figured there would have been a valid reason for the variance. Bottom line is that the Solo 2 kicks absolute ass for heatup time!

Interesting how the decided to remove the curved aroma tube for the Solo 2!

The Solo 2 is decently portable enough now IMHO that it could even use an Air plastic mouthpiece!

So is it 20 seconds or 40? That's a two times difference guys! :D

I never even noticed they dropped the curved stem! Maybe trying to save money in some areas to spend in others.
I did notice that they're giving that nice new 90mm stem with this, but if the new heater is really good and hot, I hope heat doesn't reach the user.

The quick heat up gives the impression of power, and ability to recover.
But we have yet to see proof of the power actually doing much different.

I was expecting something totally different from Arizer. So much so that this almost leaves room for a new different model??
I'm going buying a high end portable in the coming days and it's a pity that I'm not more excited about this or I might even wait to see it's price.
For now I don't think I'll change plans or hang about for this,
and unfortunately I'm afraid by the time I might get around to buying this, there will be other much better units.
Or maybe we have reached a peak where they cannot revolutionize this vaporization process much further!

It will probably fit in a pocket much better (but stems), and the charging socket is on the rear now so you could charge, use, and stand up at same time.
Making charging docks obsolete!

Vapes R Great
All I want from a new Solo is a more powerful heater, longer battery life and the biggest thing improved airflow

If I can cash a full stem in half the time of the OG I will buy this... I will probably buy regardless lol just because the solo was my first big boy portable vape.
Just picked up a Plenty tho.. 4/20 coming up too
Just when you try to get out something else drags you back in haha.

When you have a stem with a perfectly straight bowl edge and put it all the way into a classic Solo/Air oven it can completely block all 4 holes. These extra wide shallow cncs prevent that. Before that, it was commonly advised to pull the stem a milimeter out to get a good airflow, with these you don't have to.

With stem loaded, from room temp I'm heating up to 200° C in 34 seconds. I've been told multiple times it should be 20 seconds... No clue why my results seem to differ. I'm timing from the moment I set the temperature of the unit, not when the unit turns on.
