What does @VapCap say to this Omni failure? Misconstruction? Lack in proceeding?

AFAIR regarding Nona and DynaStash George told a few days ago that they intend to make the shash holes wider to hold the Nona too?

That's what thought, too. I was watching a video on the Nona and he said it would fit? I must have gotten an older stash, and honestly I'm not too bothered by it. But I would have thought since a new Nonavong was in the order it would be assumed I'd want it to fit?

Anyway, I don't want it to sound like I'm complaining, I'm loving the Omni and having fun learning about it!

I was having a bit of trouble with mine as well. It seems when I put it in there slightly unscrewed, and then try to adjust counter clockwise, I'm actually just unscrewing the mouthpiece from the condenser?
Yes, I believe this is what's happening. Rather than pushing the condenser closer to the tip (therby restricting airflow and increasing vapor density, right?), we're actually doing the opposite - pulling the condenser away from the tip and possibly losing vapor inside the body. I don't see how any amount of breaking-in will solve this problem as the condenser simply continues to rotate - not lenghten and shorten- inside the body with any twist of the mouthpice, and too much couter-clockwise twisting and pulling will simply detach the mouthpiece. Not a dealbreaker because I reckon like @Squiby suggests I'll set it somewhere in the middle, shove it in and leave it at that, but I must say I'm slightly disappointed with this reduced functionality.

Makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one who struggled with it. I scoured this thread yesterday in search of a solution. Best I found was to slightly unscrew before putting it in the body.

I couldn't find any pictures of just the mouthpiece to see if mine is different. Does yours just have the two o-rings? I'll get a photo up of mine soon. But the pics I've seen show three o-rings. Mine has two.

I'm not sure what to tell you, other than mine had the same exact problem when I first got it. Weather the threads softened a bit, or what exactly happened I'm not sure, but after screwing and unscrewing a bunch, it works beautifully now. Best of luck, I hope you get it sorted out

This gives me great hope and I shall have fun playing with it!

What's engraved on the nonavong?

It's the logo from FF10 of Yuna dancing on the water.

It's actually very clear in person I was just having trouble getting a good shot. Yes the squares are the same length!

Yes. two o-rings on mouthpiece, one on condenser.
BTW, the thing works just fine ;) - in the interest of scvientific advance I just assembled it with the mouthpice/condenser at about half way, draw was nice, remembered we have a carb hole as well - got two milky clouds :D

the 14mm BonG should fit into the Dynastash. You can contact @VapCap on their website contact page for a resolution.

I did have a stash - I have three- that would not fit my VonG. I just drilled it out with a 14mm bit and all was good. It took 5 minutes. I'm not sayin it's OK, cause they should fit. They have fantastic customer service and I'm sure they will take care of you.

Here are some pics comparing the condenser and mp set up between the regular condenser and the Omni.

Morning all. I have a problem with my new OmniVap. The theory around the adjustable mouthpiece (as I understand it) is that by rotating it anti-clockwise the condenser is pushed further up the body towards the tip but mine doesnt seem to be firmly gripped inside the body. The result is that when I twist the mouthpiece the whole condenser unit rotates but doesn't move inwards. Worse, if I twist anti-clockwise and pull gently I am actually pulling the condenser out and further away from the tip. Does that make sense? Any tips would be much appreciated.

I was having a bit of trouble with mine as well. It seems when I put it in there slightly unscrewed, and then try to adjust counter clockwise, I'm actually just unscrewing the mouthpiece from the condenser?
I had a lot of trouble figuring out my Omni at first. Hopefully I can help. It sounds like your units are working fine. What is happening is that if the condenser is fully open, in its shortest position, you need to twist counterclockwise to reduce the flow. Mine shipped with a fully open airflow, so twisting clockwise would do nothing.

Unscrewing the mouthpiece from the condenser is exactly how it's supposed to function.

Twisting counterclockwise will make the condenser longer, but it may cause the mouthpiece to extend out from the body. Push the mouthpiece back in the body and you should notice reduced airflow. It will probably take a little effort and kind of "snap" into place. You may have to twist it more than you would expect to notice a big difference in airflow.

I like to squeeze the body while adjusting, the very end next to the mouthpiece. It seems to help keep the mouthpiece in place better somehow. It doesn't make sense as I'm not strong enough to deform the titanium body by squeezing it, but the extra pressure does something to improve the process.

@Vapor_Eyes Thanks. The method you describe is as recommended by DynaVap and everyone on here - it's how it should work but something's not right with mine because the condenser doesn't shorten or lengthen inside the body - it just turns with the mouthpiece. It must not be firmly enough anchored...

During my first cleaning session I managed to get the nut on the condenser with the male threads to slide further down the condenser.

Maybe you've bust a nut? If it is loose and slipping when you are turning the MP then that is not normal behaviour.

It sounds like the inner diameter of your body could be too large. If you have any organic hemp or cotton you could try wrapping some around the two o-rings closest to the mouthpiece. That might add enough friction to make it work.

Greetings,

We have been busy in the VapLab. The main focus had been actively working on trying to find ways to make our operation more efficient as we try to get ready for one of our favorite months. April..
And with this comes an attempt at more organization.

In the process I came across this relic.

This was one of the first jigs I made. It is a multifunction unit with different slidable modules that slide in the large blue groove.
This little rig cut many a cap in its day as well as grooving the original glass and then metal condensers. It has been on vacation since the arrival of the laser. Oh boy do we like lasers. The accuracy is a game changer.
There sure is a difference between the laser cut caps and the previous generation. I wonder if these early units will be collector items some day. :)

Like this one on this first generation Blackwood Ti Woody.

I wonder if this is the one injured in a truck accident?

On another note, I received an email from @Gardenerjeff about a survey, and he thought it was sad that the VapCap had only 2 votes. I sent Bud one of my original glass units way back before the indieNogo campaign. I wonder if he would like to try a newer version.

Also, Ben, our videographer took some videos with @Arielle.Dynavap. They are working on some short FAQ videos. I hope these will make it easier to understand how these Vaps work.

Oh and @VanCough we do hope to get engraved caps back on the site in April. And if all goes well, some Ti mouthpieces too.

I hope to have the first of these up soon.

All in all, a great week. Very much looking forward to next week as it is the weekend.

I can't wait to get back to work! I might just have to go in Saturday or Sunday, maybe both.

Thank you everyone for helping me love my job!

Cheers,

George

Hey all,

Just finally caught back up after being away from FC for several months. I've gotten to know my Ti red mallee burl XLS well, and waiting on my Gen4 tip to upgrade. A couple questions-- I've no doubt this crew can handle them with ease:

- I see talk of .1 g to .02 g loads frequently. How are folks measuring that? I do have a 100g/.01 balance, but it's not sensitive or accurate enough to measure that low (even when measuring empty vs. filled VC). Do people just get a feel for those amounts, or is there a better way for me to measure?

- I have the above mentioned burly and a burl DynaStash (Indienogo beta ERXL version). Is there any finish on these when shipped? I'd like to try tung oil or hempseed oil/beeswax to bring out the depth of the wood, but I don't want to ruin my pieces. Has anyone been brave enough to play around with finishes?

Also, having spent too much time on reddit and other platforms, I can say without doubt or hesitation that the FC forum, and this thread in particular, makes me happy seeing the positivity and high-level exchange of useful information. You folks all rock!
