Doesn't it show the remaining battery as your using it? If it doesn't, I'm totally reading mine wrong which is very possible. I'm still waiting for some kind of simple instructions for which buttons to push for what and when.

Of all the vapes I have owned, the battery indicator on the Alternate is the most accurate.

IME, the battery indicator is better than: Solo, Air, Ascent, CFV, CFC, Vapium Summit, Alfa,

I also like the indicators that show the vape is heating and when it reaches temp (red and green lights).

The only drawback is there is still a faint taste of plastic.

just received my alternate in the uk excellent performance i would say on par with the mighty just less draws as the chamber is slightly smaller, im finding the taste to be as good as the mighty after a couple of burnoffs and chambers of powerful smelling herbs, hope it lasts longer than my crafty.

The more I use this thing, the more it suprises me..

Had to modify the buttons though.. better visibility :D

and im suprised adding a beep/notification before battery dies isnt something that can be added to a future firmware update.. really suprised.. oh well

also, my mouthpiece is beginning to smell, i read (here or on reddit, i cannot remember) someone used iso and it fogged up the plastic. the manual recommends half iso/half water... but i was wondering if the person with the fogged up mouthpiece used half/half..

anyone know what im talking about? ;)

It does show the remaining battery percentage directly to the right of the small battery logo on the screen of the Alternate

Also, tonight I will be using my Alternate for the first time! I am so excited. Updated the firmware and changed the settings to my liking. I will post my small review of the device after I get a few good sessions out of it.

The internal portion of the mouthpiece of mine turned white after a quick 91% ISO soak.
It looks weird, and the 'white stuff' kinda wipes off but not really.

In my somewhat professional opinion, these parts should withstand ISO soaks.
It's pretty much the standard way to clean these parts. I do not plan to dilute my ISO and scrub harder in my cleaning process. These parts should be made with a more resistant material.

I emailed Vivant and they told me they'd be selling replacement parts soon in case I wanted to replace.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hello @little maggie , I had posted the quick guide that explains the simple instructions of what button combination means what a few pages ago on this thread but here it is for your convenience:

While screen is blacked out, press any button once to wake up the display screen.

Press “power” button 5 times to turn device OFF completely.

While device is OFF, simultaneously hold “+” and “power” button for 10-12 seconds to enter Buzzer Volume Mode. This is where you can adjust the volume of the buzzer.

While device is OFF, simultaneously hold “+” and “-“ button for 2-4 seconds to flip the display screen for either right or left handed preference.

While device is OFF, press “power” button 5 times to turn device ON.

While device is ON, simultaneously hold “+” and “power” button for 2-4 seconds to enter Timer Setting Mode. This is where you can adjust your safety timer preference.

While device is ON, simultaneously hold “-“ and “power” button for 2-4 seconds to enter Stealth Mode.

While device is ON, simultaneously hold “+” and “-“ button to LOCK screen on device.

When temperature preference is set on display screen, hold onto “power” button until it beeps and LED turns green to start the heat up process.

Device will beep 3 times when it is ready to be vaped.

During a session while the LED is green, hold onto the “power” button to end the session before timer ends. This will automatically end the current session and bring the temperature back down.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions or concerns and I will be more than happy to address them for you. Thank you!!

Hello @xlr8shun , sorry for the miscommunication, it was my mistake. What I meant when I said " unfortunately is not possible at this time ", was that due to the team working very diligently on the next 2 firmware updates, this is not one they are working on or able to work on right now. It does not mean the Alternate is not capable of having this function in the future. I am sorry, it was my wording that misrepresented the statement, please accept my apologies.
As for the gentleman whom reached out to us about a white layer on his top cap after cleaning it with alcohol, he stated he was cleaning with 91% isopropyl alcohol. I reassure you that cleaning with a solution mixed equal parts (50% and 50%) of a combination of water and isopropyl alcohol will be completely safe for your Alternate parts. Thank you!

Hello @ohmygodimsohigh , I believe I was the one responding to you via email as I recall the situation and my response. Yes, there are certain plastic parts that can withstand 91% or even 100% ISO soaks, but this is generally not recommended and not the standard for cleaning plastic with alcohol.
I've also done much research via the web on this topic myself when I joined the company and studied the product. Here is a link from a credible source on generally how to clean plastic with Isopropyl.
http://www.ehow.com/how_6327959_clean-isopropyl-alcohol.html
A equal part mixture (50% alcohol and 50% water) is the standard and general rule when it comes to cleaning any type of plastic with alcohol hence the reason that is what we recommend as well. Alcohol is a strong source and will weaken any plastic when used in too high and potent of a cleaning solution. So while some can withstand it, I truly believe it is still damaging in the long run.
The white substance is just from the oxidization and is not harmful.
I'm sorry this is an inconvenience for you. We truly hope to make everyone happy but there is only so much we are capable of doing and providing. I wanted to notify you that we would be making spare parts available for purchase in case you wanted to have extra top caps as some people have been inquiring about it already. I wanted to let you know I could manually process the order for you while we wait on our site to be completely revamped and the accessory parts made available for purchase. I do truly hope you meet us halfway, please feel free to PM us if you have any more issues with your device. thank you! -Emily

Can you post the directions on the website for those who aren't fc members?

Hello @little maggie , In previous posts I had made a statement for FC members that I would make sure this Quick Guide gets loaded onto our website for the general public to view. Unfortunately our Marketing Team is still in the process of revamping our website and they have reassured me it will be on the site once the revamped site is up and live. Please hang in there with us as we are working very diligently on this but every task requires some time and we are a relatively new company so we are doing the best we can at this time. We thank you for your support and ask for your continuous understanding. Thank you!!

Ha ha ha ha! This had been really bugging me when I watched all those review videos for the Vivant Alternate before I decided to order one for myself.

No one seems to even try to see if they know how to pronounce it before making a video...which annoys me to no end. lolz

(I'm a bit of a pronunciation nazi. Always have been)

I'll have my Alternate from PIU next weekend & I'm super excited, but I'm even more excited to see what products Vivant comes out with in the future! Are y'all developing any more vaporizers at the moment?

Anyway, love the community involvement; that video (above) is hilarious.

I wanted to let everyone know that I received my replacement mouthpiece from puffitup today and I'm once again living the blissful Alternate life.

Big thanks to all involved! This is seriously an amazing vape.

I have a CFX, Pax 2, Vapcap, Sticky Brick OG, Grasshopper, MFLB, Maud Dib, Extreme Q, and of course the Alternate, and this stands with my favorites.

I'll be joinin' you next weekend then, as I just ordered mine from PIU last night. That, and all of the praise for it so far, has me rather excited. I chose the standard, free shipping, so I'm not sure what the E.T.A. will be. Ya know, USPS and their shitty tracking (plus, my bad habit of stalking the tracking website while I'm waiting on something I ordered).

I hope so. If It shows up in my mailbox on Monday I'll be soooooo happy. It shipped this morning, so maybe? lol

(I work in a position where part of my job involves dealing with clients shipping issues all the time and doing all I can to keep them happy. So I don't expect magic, like some customers do.)

Mine came in today. Looks and feels incredible for the price. Definitely a strong plastic scent so far. I'm going to do a few burnoffs tonight and tomorrow before using it and I'll let everyone know how it is after. The plastic definitely worries me a little though.

Here is my long awaited (by myself anyway) review of the Vivant Alternate

Build: It honestly does feel cheap, it's just that classic super thin cheap plastic feel, and it's very light as well. I don't necessarily hate this though considering it is smaller than a lot of popular portable vaporizers. As for the insides I love the smaller trench type circular bowl. It even comes with a built in stirrer type tool, pretty handy, but I still like the Flowermate's tool better. Absolutely love the snapping sideways top of the unit, its pretty awesome and it feels very tight.

Vapor Quality and Efficiency: My god this thing blasted me away. I had high expectations for this unit and I am still thoroughly impressed. Got some pretty big rips of it and it was producing a ton of vapor, I was at 415F for anyone wondering. And by the end of the sesh the herb was fully extracted of thc yet it was still only a light brown. I am used to my Flowermates muddy brown avb.

I was just blown away by my first use, and with the adjustable airflow and the replaceable 18650 batts, this thing is pretty nuts for 120 bucks. Ill try and answer anyones questions about the unit if they ask.

I wonder if you're timing out. Is your session still set at one minute? If so, you may want to extend your session time to 3-4 minutes.
