Herborizer corner

Ah man, I love (and miss) that sphere! Is that the classic or the XL size? Such class, and so easy to hold around the bottom!
It is the XL. It is quite heavy to hold while you hit, but I do prefer more water volume for cooling.

I liked it best when I paired it with my old Verdamper tube mouthpiece which is huge comoared to Herbo's.

It allowed much larger hits and was easier to hit. You didnt ned to be so close. I avoid the whip as it is less tsty, harder work, also more throat irritation from longer throat contact.

If the Verdamper mouthpiece plus shipping wasnt so much, I would get one in a heartbeat.

I had the classic....I really liked the look and feel of it, super simple and fantastic for vapour. The downside was that the diffusion is quite minimal and the vapour felt harsher/hotter than something a little more elaborate. the XL can really hold some water!

@Carlos8400 thanks for directing us to your seemingly favorite bong store. They seem to have some decent prices. I just found this straight tube on their site. It looks like a steal at €38.
https://www.blackleaf.de/black-leaf-whirlwind-bong-mit-turboscheibe-kickloch/

It is the same height and width as the Herborizer tube and very similar design.
I dont understand what the disc bit is in the middle as obviously it isnt in
English.
I wonder how that might work? And whether it could function as an ice catch? I dont like high drag at all. I bought a double honeycomb bong from dhgate 2 years ago and hated it.

I used it with the Herborizer but the drag was unbearable.
If I thought this Blackleaf tube would be low drag, and maybe even work as an ice catch, I would be very interested.

It looks perfect for the Herborizers. I really wanted to getbthe Herborizer tube,
I like the simple straight walls, but I wanted an ice bong. I really dont like the Herborizer icetube design as much as the original tube. Its the trumpet style mouth end Im put off by for some reason. Here it is if you havent seen it:
http://shop.herborizer.com/en/bodies/44-body-icetube.html

And the icetube is very pricey as well. If only this Blackleaf one had proper ice notches it would surely work just as well?

Sorry if it looks like i am advertising them! It's just that i have always had good service from them and although the quality can be hit and miss sometimes, the vast majority of pieces i have bought there have been great. And for the price you would struggle to find better without going straight to china.

You know you can put the website in english, top right!
That bong is already more percolation than the herborizer one which has basically no perc at all.
The top one is a turbine perc, more of a splashguard, never used one but you can find videos on youtube:

Saying that it is so high on the tube i doubt you would ever get water up to it.
It does look like a nice large piece for vapor.

I usually stick to 7 max, but I thought, what the hell, why not a little increase.

The downside was that the diffusion is quite minimal and the vapour felt harsher/hotter than something a little more elaborate.

This sounds a bit strange to me as I use my XL from 7 to the max setting and I find it to be the smoothest vape ever even at the highest temperature. I also want as less diffusion as possible with my Herbo to get all the amazing flavor. The bubblers I see posted on the last page will rob way too much flavor for my own preference.

I will soon be taking a forced break from vapor for a 30 day course of homeopathy when I cant vape due to intense die off from infections and respiratory symptoms due to cleansing

Not to be an asshole but I just can't understand why you should take a month long break from vaping because of homeopathy nor what kind of "cleansing" you are talking about.

Have you tried the Supreme or Sublimator? I should have put things in context, at the time I had the classic sphere (minimal diffusion and cooling) as will as the Vriptech perk which has double diffusion and is much bigger, plus the ability to use ice. The difference is night and day.

You're going to lose flavour (and some potency) with water regardless, so better go dry for those hits if so desired. I don't like too much diffusion, but still require some for the high temp hits I enjoy...otherwise it rips my lungs apart, and this includes the Herbo XL. I take huge hits though, since I have swimmers lungs, but everyone is different.

People take breaks from vaping (and cannabis) for all different kinds of reasons, it surprises me that you can't understand that.

I don't understand how homeopathy could be a factor in taking a t break as it's unrelated to how your body works, that's all.

Regarding the diffusion/flavor debate I just find that what you gain in smoothness is a fraction of what you lose in flavor after a certain level of percolation and this is most noticeable to me with a fantastic tasting vape as the Herborizer but as you said everyone is different!

I have been pagued for 12 years by multiple chronic infections all over my body due to contracting Lyme Disease in 2004 and my imune system being heavily compromised.

I have overcome dozens and dozens of major infections, but have continued to pick up more due to my compromised immunity.
My lungs in particular have been heavily affected. I have had at least 2 infections in both lungs every single day since 2005, sometimes as many as 6 infections in each lung simultaneously. No joke honest!

And I have also had the most severe allergies you can possibly imagine this whole time. I react to thjngs that noone has ever reacted to before. I have not even been able to use toothpaste since 2006! There are thousands of foods, herbs, supplements, drinks etc that I have to avoid. I suffer from severe excesive mucus production in my respiratory tract due to the infections and the allergies.

Every time I eat food, my lungs fill up with mucus and I have to spend at least an hour after eating clearing the mucus from my lungs, or else I will literally choke to death.

It is a 24/7 task to manage symptoms. When you treat infections successfully, especially when they are in the lungs, lots of excessive mucus is produced to be cleared by the respiratory tract due to the pathogens being killed off and releasing "biofilm" from the lungs and toxins etc.

It is a case of having to suffer in order to get better. It is always worth it though.
The homeopathy is prescribed for me specifically for the exact pathogens I have in my body at the time. It is very, very effective at reducing and eliminating infection.

However when I take the treatment which is for 30 days, the "die off" from the infections is so intense, my lungs are swamped by mucus breaking up. Each day there is noticeable improvement, and after the 30 days the world is a totally different place, but it takes a few days for the mucus to settle down.

I am also allergic to cannabis, but love my vapor so much and it keeps me sane. I vape but I have to manage the allergic respiratory reaction which causes more excessive mucus and inflammation.

It is simply impossible for me to manage this allergy reaction to vaporizing at the same time as I am treating the infections with homeopathy. There is just too much mucus to deal with. Therefore I have to leave vapor aside until after the medicine.

I will be using edibles every day probably, so no T break, just different.
I hope you can relate to my situation better now. There are trillions of variables we all have our own unique experience, physiology and circumstances and we must be open to all possibilities and a far greater understanding of things than we mere mortals can achieve.

Also @The Beagle , I owned my XL for a year before I discovered the injector was faulty. It wasnt hearing up properly. I would never have realised if I hadnt tried a friends model to compare.

The injector was replaced in August. I do expect this cpuld happen to any XL owner out there. If you get a chance, try another model and compare it.

I did actually wonder if your own injector may be cooler actually. I know you like max heat, but I really dont think that is necessary with the XL, especially with a big load. Maybe your injector is faulty too?

Also, regarding temp, Im not saying the Herborizer is a harsh vaporizer at all. My allergies dispose me to having very sensitive lungs. I could never smoke weed, and higher heat bothers me a lot more. Hope this helps clarify some things.:D

Holy shit that's a lot to endure, my best wishes for your health. Being a purely recreational user I often forget how many people here have to deal with serious health conditions, I apologize if I sounded rude. I remember your problem with the injector, last year I sent you the pic of my unit to show you the XL marking on the heating element as I got a basic one when I bought my Herbo and it wasn't working properly paired with the XL power supply.
BTW did you get Lyme disease from a tick bite? Living in a mountain area is my main concern when thinking about wild animals here.

Hey thats cool no need to say sorry. Big respect though for being open to what I describe. Some things, until they happen, you cant even imagine or visualise.

Yes I was bitten by a tick in 2004, but the Lyme Disease didnt manifest until early 2005. It waits until your immune system is hindered then basically hijacks the place!

Just keep yourself as strong and healthy as possible. Even if you did contract the underlying main pathogen causing Lyme Disease, the "Borrelia" bacteria, you may not necessarily develop "Lyme Disease", which is the condition involving dysregulation of both the immune system and nervous system.

Prevention is the best cure! Be strong, be wise, be immune.

Do you speak from direct experience?
Honestly i don't see it seizing, and this is such a simple box i don't know what could fail, it's a potentiometer, a led and two wires. It's basically a big adjustable soldering iron, nothing very high tech.

It's just from a user perspective the tactile experience of the controller could be better.

It's more Mighty than GH or IQ if you see what i mean.

Hey man it is a bit stiff at times i think it must be close to two years old now and yea the XL was actually the first ever vape i bought or tried i just went in for the 399 euro bubbler kit so i guess i learned to drive in a rolls royce!

I just hope it goes the distance and doesnt fail or seize it does quite hot after 4-5 days 24/7 uptime.

What are you going to put it in though dude? I had a wee talk with RooR in Germany because i wanted the hemp bag + 250ml straight, Apparantly no tubes leave without a shit label, So the RooR philosophy page is a bunch of capitalist bullshit about having a lifelong tube. Everyone knows who has a label the clock is ticking on the day the sucker comes home. It is only a matter of time and apparantly no sandblasting on a 250ml.

Utter fucking travesty, Cannot buy the tube i want without being a glass billboard with a time limit... I am probably going to get a clear no label bubbler from Sebastien now for mine. Just a matter of getting some money i am already £60 into the £300 i need! :D

this thing hits hard. first impression is that finally something to rival the supreme and versa. I put it 6.5 for a first try and its pretty intense.
6.5? Some say that is overkill for them. You will have to let us all know how you get on with the lower temps.

You say it can rival the Supreme. I bought the Supreme specifically because I wanted a super heavy hitter that can hit hard with dense clouds at lower temps, way below 200°C anyway. I have now sold my Supreme and am plotting for a suitable replacement.

I really need to be chasing the infamous "blue vapor" for my allergies sake.

I would argue that for the Ti to truly rival the Supreme 3 it needs to be able to do so at lowish temp settings with smooth but dense vapor like the Supreme does at low temps (150° to 180°).
So Im particularly interested to know how the Herborizer Ti does at at the lower temperatures. Ideally I want to be able to take large and powerful hits at about the 180° C mark.

If I remember right, setting 5 is said to equal 190°C, and a few Ti owners have said that setting 4.5 to 5 gives very satisfying hits.

Yep i think there's a very slight learning curve to properly understand the TI and the suction/temperature ratio.
My very first try was at 6,5 and was at the frontiers of combustion.
Today i stay on 6 on most of the time but goes down in temperature when i have new strains. At first i also found the air flow a little too open..
Now that i am more accustomed to it i find it perfect.

Interesting what you say about the airflow being open. Have you ever used the basic or XL Herborizer? From @bleak 's excellent (and so far the only video), it looks like the airflow is more open than the original Herbos.
To me that will be a good thing. I have excellent breath control and dont go a ton on restricted airpaths.

Is it tho?

Well-Known Member
I was really surprised at how open the air flow is, I was looking to see if I had a loose connection as to me it feels like their is zero resistance.
In the name of science I shall get both supreme and herb on the go tonight and hit both at roughly the same temp with same weed and bong and see how they compare. Prob do both at 180c as that's always my starting point with supreme

Does that not create a less dense cloud though? The XL looks like a 10mm hole what size would you say you have the full 18mm? Thats a lot to me i can breathe in normally through a 14mm so i must think thats enough for me. Defo getting 14mm over 18mm if you think it is airy.

Honestly, that won't make a difference at all. I have tried mine with a 14mm adapter and it hits exactly the same way. The bottleneck isn't the bowl, it is the injector.
The only reason to chose 14 or 18 is what glass you have, and do you want to use adapters.

It just doesn't have much restriction...

XL has just mashed me up bruv! And there's me feeling like the XL isnt good enough and I need to upgrade! (I still will obviously).
The more I hear about the Ti the better it sounds.

The open airflow factor is very appealing, it doesnt impede the power of the vaporizer at all, and may even be an important factor in the extraction.
The heater can keep up with the airflow, but maybe the airflow is facilitating more rapid extraction?
Dont know about these things like most members though. But you guys are making it REALLY hard for me to get my mind set on the VHW for health purposes (the right reasons), when the Ti sounds like such a good investment.

I just cant predict how my chest will tolerate the Ti vapor. Not the materials at all. But if on low temps it is effectively like the higher than 7 XL temps, it may just bother my chest too much.

I feel very confident that the VHW on moderate temp will be very comfortable.
