So speaking of weird crap, and it might be normal. Try to explain anyone experience strange problems using the unit while plugged into the charger. I swear it does weird shit like when I first turn it on, it will power up for like 3 seconds then totally turn off. Hit the button 5 times starts right up no problem. And it just doesn't turn off when it does it, it goes completely black like it's not even plugged in anymore. Didn't want to complain about with others having much more serious issues I can live with something like that, it's just weird.

Wow!!! Can't believe this unit could have so many irregularities at such a premium price.

With some of the mechanical stuff that the others were having and the battery stuff I was like if this is the only thing that's going on I'll take it. Because if I complain and send it in who knows what I'll get in it's place. I had some weird stuff going on with my smartpaths a few days ago but seemed to have worked itself out.

Hey guys, so i purchased my davinci iq about two weeks ago and wanted to share the experience ive had so far to hopefully help some of you that have been having some of the same problems ive had and the solutions ive come up with. To start, this vape kicks ass. I get huge clouds off quick draws, 1 pack will give me 9-10 nice hits. My biggest gripe with this thing is charging and the battery it comes with. I would charge the battery in the unit and constantly have issues with it powering on and off and not lasting as long as it should. What i did to fix these problems was I purchased two LG HG2 18650 batteries from amazon along with a 18650 battery charger to charge the batteries outside of the IQ. I now keep a 3 battery rotation not allowing any of them to get beyond a reasonable temperature. How you pack your IQ plays a big part in performance as well. I put a little in at a time, pack it down gently with the flat end of a pen, and repeat the process till its full. I hope my tips for the IQ help you guys enjoy this awesome vape to its max potential.

So I was watching this video today about cleaning the IQ, and the guy was using a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. Now that one was a first. He just tore a little piece of it off and put a little ISO on it and stuck it in the chamber and used a small tool to work it around the chamber. Worked really well. Who would have thought Magic Eraser.

Many of us have thought magic erasers; Ascent users have been doing it for a while. I've predicted a "cotton swab" eraser coming out in the future :) There was also a whole discussion on the safety/chemicals. Anyway, yeah they work!

After going back and forth about receiving a new post and not getting it multiple times, I was able to get a RMA going for a new IQ as a result. I should have the new IQ tomorrow. It was pretty stressful at first, but I commend Davinci for making sure I was happy in the end.
After the RMA was set up though, my girlfriend showed me her IQ and some of the lower LED's were not working. Has anyone else had that issue? It wasn't a big deal since we already had it set up to get a new one, but it was weird.

I purchased the HoneyBird combo a few weeks back. The threaded 10mm adapter is showing a hairline fracture. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement 10mm adapter ?

Bad news. I have lost the oven on my IQ. The original IQ failed as have 2 replacements. All three had oven failure. Now I have to go through the torture of getting another RMA from an non communicating CS department. Since I have had my IQ, most of the time since I have been waiting for a replacement to be sent instead of vaping. And this entire 4 months, the CS department has not improved their communication. During hours, no one on the telephone or no one on chat.

I vape at 430 F always. Apparently the IQ will not last more that 3 weeks if you plan to vape at the higher temps. All three of my IQs failed within three weeks. Yeah, I have a ten year warranty....... but you can't contact them to honor the warranty in a timely fashion . I am faced with the prospect of sending my IQ back every three weeks for ten years to use it. Mustering up the patience to deal with the CS problems and 3 weeks RMA turnaround each time will be beyond me.

I planned to buy a 6 month warranty to get my old Ascent working, but along with customer service, they have no way to process online purchases of the warranty. And for sure there is no way to buy a warranty by talking to them on the phone.

I hope others can read this before making a decision to buy the IQ.

These are off the current topic, but:

1) I've been waiting for aromatherapy products to come back for months now, what gives? http://www.davincivaporizer.com/aromatherapy/

2) Now I also see that the new glass spacers are already sold out? When can we a new batch?

3) A silicon casing is long over-due. Is there any progress updates that can be provided?

Thanks!

don't think these accessories are a big priority with Davinci. I sent them an email inquiry about when the 10-14mm adapters will be restocked and if there are plans for the 3 piece grinders 2 weeks ago and that was the end of that. Was interested in the grinder but they didn't reply on if SCS's warranty applies on Davinci grinders.

Yeah I have been hammering them about the spacers also for the last 2 weeks. They supposed to be in this Wednesday. I'm also waiting for the Bubbler that also supposed to be in Wednesday also.

DaVinci says there is no safety data to recommend using Magic erasers and there is significant concern regarding their safety.. Beyond that, magic eraser safety is outside of thread parameters and I was told not to be discussed on this forum.

Thanks for this. I'm on the edge and you're keeping me there. Despite all of the bitching about the Grasshopper, they seem more responsive than this. I've had almost no issues with my two 9 month old GH's (SS can get crazy hot). If DaVinci is going to play games, I'll continue to hold off.

When you guys order spacers I'd probably order a set of two. I had mine for a couple weeks and I already lost the small spacer. They roll away really easily. They are also hard to see. I also put a small chip in mine with a tool so be careful digging them out of the oven. I'm sure dropping them didn't help as they are glass.

If anybody was waiting for flavor chambers they are in! I just ordered two because again I dropped mine when I first opened the top and it chipped a small corner off the nipple end.

CS does live at DaVinci, my main complaint is the limitations of CS to email responses. Got Vape settles issues in minutes on the phone and it takes much longer with DaVinci doing email. Their response once you got them is now impressive. They are sending me out a return label via email this time, I have already paid for two returns so that is an improvement. They also have sent out a replacement IQ before receiving the defective unit. That is a plus, but seeing how so many problems have occurred, I am due some effort to reduce my wait time for the replacement.

I am pleased to see I will not have to wait another 3 weeks for this RMA process to replace my IQ. I do love this device and will keep using it even if it is hot to hold. My wrapping with a leather tong has worked well to help reduce the contact heat with the hand.

My partner ordered me an IQ last week, and I'm excited to receive it in the next few days.

I've been reading the past number of pages concerning the issues with some units. I hope get lucky and get a well-functioning unit.

Right now, I'm using an Air as my portable, so I'm excited to see the differences.

Just recieved my replacement IQ yesterday! I'm spoiled with the attached pearl. It was a headache trying to keep track of the loose pearl.. The mouthpiece lid sits flush on this unit. (unlike the lopsided first IQ) I'm glad I am done with the back and forth trying to get a pearl post, I'm not touching that damn thing now!

Be patient, get the loading technique down proper, and you will have one heck of a good vaping experience. The pure taste is exceptional. The flavor persists throughout the load.

I think the IQ requires less cleaning than the Ascent. Most of my cleaning is with ISO on an ear swab at the junction of the oven and flavor chamber. Poke and twirl via flavor chamber hole until the swab comes out clean. BTW I then use the dirty ISO swab to wipe out the oven. I do not worry about a super clean white oven.

Also, I took my dirty flavor chamber and made some hot chocolate with it . I had a really solid night's rest, still feeling the effects the next morning. The flavor chamber treated grass is too resinous to vape in the IQ. It makes a mess. My son smoked some and said it tasted like hash oil, but fuck combustion. I'm making hot chocolate.

Enjoy!

Hey DaVinci!

I purchased one of your Vaporizers (ordered a blue but got a stealth). I did try it and was so happy with it, I decided not to bother returning it. Everything worked great (except the overheating at times, but I can live with it). However, recently I noticed that if I place the unit down on a table, it sort of shuts off. Like without the vibration, it just goes off. I can start it after that and continue using it but was wondering if this is normal.

Return is not going to be easy as I live overseas. Other than that issue everything works great. Is this going to get worse?

Thanks in advance

So I actually tried this for about 5 days. Nice and sticky. If I had to say it was a much better high with all that smoke passing thru. On the downside. I posted earlier that I was having a problem with airflow. Now that I think of it thanks to another member there are a bunch of small holes on the cover. These holes are so small there is no way you can clean them except for just soaking it in ISO, So that's what I did, Problem gone. So I can see this as being a problem putting nugs in the flavor chamber & airflow problems and cleaning.
You are missing out if not putting a nugget in the chamber. After a week of using it every day, take it out and you have a very resinous treat! I just wouldn't vape it in the Davinci. I use my Flashvape for the flavor chamber nugget and it lasts a really long time. BTW, love love love the IQ. Been using it since Christmas daily with no problems. So easy to clean but doesn't seem to need cleaning very often.

For sure, now that I've been using it for a while and have gotten all the little tweets and learning curves out of the way I'll will be doing that.

@Davinci_vaporizer

Zirconia Spacers or Zirconia loading capsules is the future :science:

The perfect spacer needs to be unbreakable, flavorless, and easy to load and unload.

IMO the 2 biggest issues I have with the IQ are the unloading of the oven and cleaning of the device. Unloading is annoying, leads to burnt fingers, and it's difficult to clear the whole oven without special tools.

  • Unloading and Reloading:
Usually my biggest issue with spacers is when I go to reload where do I put this molten piece of glass and how do I move it in order to reload my oven.

If I wait until the oven is cool before reloading it is harder to clear and makes the oven dirty.
If I reload the oven while it's hot then I burn my hands and I have nowhere to put this spacer.
This is especially an issue when I'm on the go.

  • Cleaning:
Cleaning is rather difficult as I prefer to be quite meticulous with my cleanings. Cleaning the oven itself isn't bad, but cleaning the rest of the vaporizer becomes annoying and time intensive.

The flavor chamber and mouthpiece soaking is OK, but even that takes some time.

Cleaning the area behind the oven is doable, but definitely a very lengthy proposition.

Then after cleaning I let the iso evaporate and then do a couple burnoffs, it comes out good as new but i definitely don't enjoy cleaning and I'd say it takes too long to clean for me if this was my only vaporizer.

Other than those 2 things though, there's not much else that I dislike about the IQ. The heater is quite powerful and still delivers good flavor; the heater does have room for improvement though, when compared to the other components of the vaporizer.

The metal case, zirconia parts, and replaceable batteries are my favorite parts of the IQ by far. :)
