I wouldn't worry man , Evo is a great machine , one of the top desktops imo. If they are coming out with something new it probably will not be for awhile , it is definitely worth it to grab one now. I honestly don't think they are making a new desktop , possibly a portable and maybe some accessories for the desktop, who knows . I don't see much they can improve on besides minor things.
A new portable still compatible with the glasses would be amazing

Well all portable are compatible with the hydratubes with a bit of creativity or a universal adapter by delta 3d studios. Would be cool , although i am not a fan of really using my portables with a hydratube , very hard to take on the go.
My girl doesn't like me vaping in house on account of 6 month old so even thou I vape I still sneak away to a window. I've actually thought about setting up Evo to 500 degrees and unplugging it and taking it outside and taking as many hits as I can before it cools down

Totally understandable man , I'd be the same if or when I have kids. You know there is a way around this. They do make a few devices that are a portable power bank with a ac plug built in. Technology has come far and there are ones that are about the size of a few iPhones stacked up . I recently saw one on the forum someplace for around $200 , it may be worth it to use the Evo .

That would be totally worth it for me. I will try and look for one on eBay or Amazon. Do you happen to know the name of one?
Nvm I just saw one on Amazon and u weren't kidding they are expensive

I believe I saw one on the forum that's new with lots of great features and small for around $209 or so , they are not cheap but you can use them in so many different ways . It's all small price considering you'd be able to use the Evo more now . If I come across the one I saw I'll link it here . ** just found the one I saw in the forum but there are a few others out there by other companies - http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/omnicharge-portable-powerbank.22879/

WOW = 420 = HOLY GRAIL

Harmless PLANT CANNABIS?
I'm dreaming right?
Is it a schedule 1?
Why?

That was my initial thought, so i went ahead and submitted my order. I cant wait to receive this thing. Going to run it through a waterpipe and may later grab a hydratube.

How do you guys store/transport your evos? I've just got the original box, and added foam to the lid. Trying to figure out a way to transform it into a latchable container, ideally without looking ugly.

I'm using my SSV bag, it's so well padded but I don't like the shape. I'd suggest a smaller slimmer padded pouch or camera bag.

I don't travel with mine much so the rare times that i do , i just use a nice big piece of bubble wrap and a rubber band wrap it up than wrap it in a towel and throw it in a backpack or my old 7th floor bag that came with my Lifesaber vape that is padded. I do like the pelican 1400 @Stu posted as a option but i just don't travel enough to justify the price. I consider the Evo a pretty easy vape to pack up and travel with though compared to most , unless you need to take glass with you also.

A cheaper alternative to Pelican cases is Plano gun cases. Some of those come with pluckable foam for a custom fit. Both Amazon and Walmart carry the Plano brand cases.

Thanks, I'd been looking at the Pelican cases, but they're out of my budget range. Plano should be what I'm looking for.

Well my colored spoon took damage due to me absentmindedly tamping it with an ELB inside like it was a proper wooden pipe. So, the frosty white one is my DD now.
Might take the colored spoon and make it work with an 18mm Female end to drop over the EVO's socket.

I have used an ELB in the socket end of my Frosty spoon, above the EVO, EQ style. So it is entirely hot air passing through the ELB. With the convenience of simply taking out Frosty when I want to allow the ELB to cool in between draws.

After I vaped what I can with that method, then I actually use it properly in the EVO inside the socket. Then squeeze out anything left in the HT. The 3 stages of a fully packed ELB.

@ataxian You know about the flavor that the EVO brings. Do you get a certain particular 'crunch' or 'bite' at the end of your draw? It is more of a solid thing than things getting toasted towards the end of the bowl. Do you know what I'm trying to say? Is that a CIVILIZED question to asked a CIVILIZED EVO devotee? :freak:

I'm also considering making one of my EVO's travel worthy. There is also some outfits that can make custom cases. Also the DIY route is a cheap route. But I'd be fussy about things like shockproof, watertight, crushproof and weather resistant. Then cut or break away the foam you don't need to fit the EVO plus. Perhaps borrow the template from the EVO box itself. (or just the foam. :haw: )

If you can design it to be able to use the EVO inside the case without fumbling or hassle, that would be an impressive project. Lift the lid, Plug in the cord, set the EVO upright, do your vape ritual. Place the cord back, set down the ECO, close lid. I'll brainstorm a little.

Haven't forgotten about having an EVO stand like the Coleman stove base that I am using now. (also pictured above in the group photo.) It does help keep the EVO from being tipsy when I yank the cord from the wall and also keeps clutter and particles away from the hole in the bottom. I accidentally sucked some particles through the open hole in the bottom, when it sits on my desk normal.

Maybe use the red caps that came with it, if you bubble wrap your EVO? I should have taken a closer inspection on how my EVO arrived from the Vape doctor to get a template from, and borrow from that.

I would DIY and choose a case that has the dimension I was looking for and then the features and type of protection needed as a starting point. Then search or luck into finding the case that fits my expectations (and perhaps a few I didn't think of) and then decide on what foam option to go with. Some foam is meant to have break away cubes while others require cutting.

You know how to live!

I'm still figuring it out?

The EVO is FLAVOR CITY, however yhe EFFECT puts me under the bus!

Now I am CIVILIZED (I think?)

SOUR DIESEL 1 EBL + EVO = MOON
KIEF + KANDY CANE = NEPTUNE

CARL SAGAN = CIVILIZED EXAMPLE

Were all on a PALE BLUE DOT called: "EARTH"!

CARL SAGAN = CIVILIZED EXAMPLE
I met Carl Sagen once. He was teaching from Cornell and drove 40m presumably to give a lecture at my Community College about Nuclear Winter and autographed copies of The Cosmos. :myday:We came prepared and tried to get him to write "Billions... and Billions of best wishes." But he had no sense of humor after talking about the after effects of the apocalypse. :haw:

If I could change one thing with the EVO, it would be when it goes into blinking shut off mode. It should blink at one pulse but remain on for a full minute, then change the blink rate when it is in standby shutdown mode.

Some design considerations for the EVO.
How about a see through model? Or a more squat version. I know more now that the heat element is towards the top of the unit, not at the center as I figured before. Is there some sort of tempering of the glass being worked out by having the bottom of the bamboo heat up last or least? :hmm:

With a little balance, my HT works with my WPA and CFX.
Took my HT and a 45 degree adapter and placed it above my FC-ball. With a few heavy adapters for balance on the opposite end sets my EVO. My Poor man's hydrobase. :haw:
:peace:

Wow, this is a top FC post for me personally.

On topic, I agree about the light blinking. I'd also like the light to be somewhere where I can actually see it when I'm not hovering over the Evo. It's so hard to see in a lit room.

Thanks glad you liked. :)

But back on topic. i don't like having to lord over it or have it flash just before I'm thinking about, (and spacing) taking a draw. Oh it's blinking, reset and wait again. The EVO is top shelf, but not entirely on demand, even after a preheat. IMHO. :2c: I'm O.K with that if the timer was more to our liking.

One of the outsides of my EVO's case is slightly open along the seam and allows for more light to leak through. This helps at certain angles. That would be simple enough to design around the build of the case with no extra electronics or extra indicator light. A simple hole at a select point in the body and a dot of clear epoxy. Poor man's indicator light. :science:

I read so much it's nerdy for most!

Carl Sagan is the man!
Christopher HITCHENS is my favorite.
I can make a list of books I have.

I put my EVO upside down on one of my water pipes. KIEF + KANDY LAND + WATER PIPE =
CRAZY CIVILIZED to the MAX! (EBL NEW)
