I'm sorry if there was any confusion, but the black out email essentially went out to anyone who has a unit currently being built. The folks we're trying to get numbers out to (who did not receive the email) will be seeing them shortly.

Technically the 'black out' is still in effect but I wanted to clarify for those that are bummed.

I'll be drawing back a bit until the black out ends from this point on (that was kinda the point, right?) due to a personal/family emergency that is taking most of my mental and emotional fortitude right now (the last few days have been tough). If you've emailed me in the past few days you most likely received an auto-response about this as well.

Happy to say that we are still trucking along on units and we made a ton of progress on our backed-up orders last week. It's been a blur, but we've really trying to knock this shit out, guys.

Is it possible for the updates not to reset profiles or presets unless a change within those systems, its not a big deal but I noticed my network doesn't change while those do.

Also sorry if its available somewhere I should have noticed were can we see the changelog for the updates?

I always feel wary of just blindly updating my device or programs.

Here's the changelog for the first 'public' update from a couple weeks ago.

I bet Ava will post another here for the one from last night or the night before.

Liz here (forcefully filling in for Ava since she won't stop checking the thread)

Any update since the one quoted here will have change logs posted after our order queue is cleared. They have been minor but consist of: UI (mostly text) bug fixes / back-end scaling or implementation changes.

We will be sure to update the thread anytime there's a major (necessary) update right now. Until then, unless you encounter something specific don't feel obligated to update.

omg stop

That is sick. Neat video.

Are you liking the Flowerpot? I wish Edwyn had a 20mm version.
Loving the Flowerpot works perfect. The HexNail allows for too much experimenting but so far haven't combusted and the extractions are always perfect with no need to stir. Im going to test more with low temp globs tonight and tomorrow.

@paytonpenn, thanks for sharing your vid. Perhaps it would be useful to tell your test results to Liz and Ava as an orientation for optimizing the HN for the Flower Pot?

BTW @SoDelicious has told in the Sub-thread that he intents to buy the new Sublimator Apollo (2.0 mini XLR) soon and he is willing to loan it to @HexNailAva for optimizing the HN for the new Sub version too

New firmware update! 1.25 is out. No idea what it fixes but I updated without issue.
Tried updating mine to the new firmware but it's been at the "installing do not power off" etc screen for over 2hrs. Not frozen and I know the network is correct/up. I'm using it now. I hope it all goes well....

I think earlier in the thread, @HexNailAva said you can reload firmwares in case you want to roll back (or, assuming an update fails). Not sure how. I am hoping to have a unit in my hands soon, still waiting on tracking.

Maybe @mutten840 knows?

Yeah I finally powered off after 3 hrs plus...then it started up ok afterwards. it didn't update though. I will try again in awhile and see if it will update then. Cross your fingers for me. I definitely sooo don't want to have to send it back and wait for a fix. Hopefully there's nothing critical in this update and it's an easy fix for me.

@scalescliffs I do not think they have added that feature yet. But if @Kalikron is still able to use his unit. It sounds like it didnt update or did and is stuck and might need to be restarted
Thanks for the feedback/help guys!
Awesome news; afer a restart and a bit of a wait; it updated as normal! Whew glad that was no big deal. Probably my own fault or a fluke: and I've had tons of other electronic devices do the same. I love my HexNail and all is well!!

@paytonpenn what make 16mm coil do you have? Did you get it from Hexnail?

I want to get a 16mm coil but I see Auber coils are 125W and DNail are 100W and then Newvape isn't even the same plug head. And then you have High Five which supposedly has totally different pinouts?

If I buy an Auber 16mm coil, will that work for the Hexnail, do we think?

Aubers works fine with the HexNail. Im using one of them now.

New update out! I hear it fixes temperature funkiness.
I updated and it added quite a bit....I noticed a spot for user profiles in settings now, as well. Very cool. It also added a changelog to the box screen. It shows all the implemented changes for this and previous updates.
Thanks to @HexNailAva, Liz and everyone on the HexNail team for sticking with it!
Thanks @PoopMachine for being brave enough to try another coil; it's very handy to know auber coils work safely. Especially if you have a spare around. As I understand it, the HexNail uses the same XLR setup as the majority of industry leading competitors; but I'd never actually comfirmed. Again awesome to know for certain.

Hey guys, we've got a bigger production update coming later today. Lots of good news (and hopefully a few things that make the wait worth it for everyone).

But now that we have a few folks that confirmed it's good (we had a couple of customer try before release as well) we'd highly recommend everyone installing the new update.

Please allow time for a proper boot after the update. Your nail may restart multiple times.

There's a LOT that it this update does but it mainly fixes a scaling issue some early customers were experiencing, cuts boot time to about half (and that will come down more once production is caught up) and puts a little polish on all the basics (presets, etc.)

Right now, profiles are still being properly implemented but we did add the framework so folks could at least put their name on it. :)

Please report any issues or other bugs to us. It's been helping us (and in turn our other customers) immensely.

OH. And we'll be uploading a PDF Quick Start Guide today as well. It should help people having trouble understanding the interface. It also has some explanations for the 'Advanced' PID menu so you can play with tunings yourself!
------
EDIT: Forgot to address coils.

Our coils CAN be purchased directly and either included with your order or sent out separately. Message me here if you'd like to add one to your order.

Concerning other coils. I know a few of our customers have been running a multitude of different coils without any issues. We are wired to the 'standard D-Nail' config so there are a lot of options out there. IT MUST BE A K TYPE THERMOCOUPLE. Some manufacturers use J Type thermocouples and these WILL NOT WORK.

HOWEVER. Please remember that for the most accurate temps / tunings you will need to use our coils. We'll be working to profile other coils when we have time to keep rolling on the software (and can afford to pick up a bunch of them. Heh.)

Okay guys. Sorry for the delay on this stuff. Between building, shipping, sending invoices for coils (quite a few of you wanted extras after that last post. Heh.) & our communication backlog from the blackout period had me pretty busy trying to catch up the last few days.

We sent another large round of units out (including the last of our early wholesale orders) day before yesterday and have more being prepped for shipping now. I know it's been a frustrating few weeks, but for those of you without a unit yet rest assured. We have more going out Monday already built and are rapidly finishing a big chunk of the Walnut & Bloodwood units as I type this (overnighter incoming).
------
Something I wanted to get out there while trying to wrap-up the bigger production update was the Quick Start Guide PDF. We've finally uploaded it to our site and it will help anyone struggling with the interface/what each setting does a ton.

An 'oversized' black and white copy is included with each order and once we can afford to print them properly (in color) we'll offer a copy to anyone that wants one who has purchased a nail already.

Stoked to hear I will have my Hex-Nail soon! Got this Liger all set up with a sapphire insert and tested at 590* with a High5 controller for now, but I'll be able to go even lower soon.
