Discontinued The Grasshopper

Umm, the grasshopper has screens....and that front end screen needs scraping and cleaning often IME (as well as @Mr. Me2 !) ;)
Sorry again. DIGITAL screens. But IME the hopper front end screen almost never has anything stick to it. My older RME one (threads didn't match new RME body) had more stuff stick. Maybe they made newer front end screens more stickproof?
I admittedly ALWAYS empty my hopper while warm.

Now you know as well as I do that resin clogs screens as much, if not more, than particulates. I had a Pax (messy maintenance, but screen was least of it) Prima, FW2, and Flowermate. The last 3 all use those user replaceable screens with micro holes. They all get clogged faster than I can sneak a hit with my hopper. Almost.

Completely agree. They set their bar too high IMHO, and should of stuck with a form factor of like a marker or something. Now I know it kinda defeats the purpose of it not looking like a pen, but think of the potential...including proper 18650 batteries, and a bigger more robust heat exchanger, etc. I have recently demo'ed and tested the Inhalater 6S, and although it's no grasshopper, it has a great form factor, super quick heat up time, and great potential, unfortunately it's a conduction vape. But if the GH had that room to play with, I think it would have kicked more ass. Then the pen GH could have come along once the first was better established..

What category? Maintenance? I'm no shill, but can assure you that a vape that would reign supreme in this category IS The Supreme 3.

Or load, click, coplights, empty a fresh bowl, smash your head against the wall because it's your XX RMA.

:lmao:

You may be grinding too fine? Really every other session your screens would get clogged? Which vapes?
You made me laugh... Thanks!

Hi everybody.

My toughest dilemma is when I leave the house I have to decide whether I pack the SS or TI hopper in my kit.

You're welcome to call me a shill. I doubt it would hold up though, I purchase anything that looks good. I still am getting a grasshopper for all my reservations.

But that's not a negative for all users.

I have a screen and basket with my minivap. That's why I like it. You can disassemble all parts that have potential to get dirty easy. You don't have to but you can. I removed my bottom screen for a cleaning. Completely unnecessary, but gave me peace of mind.
The pax vaporizer for example. I hate it. I hate that vaporizer so much. I saw someone use one in front of me and I was so thoroughly unimpressed with that vaporizer.

This isn't to say my minivap is perfect. I complained about where is version 2.0 forever after I bought it. I didn't even have a specific complaint, I just wanted better, which they did deliver.
I feel like as a consumer, unless I complain, companies will not make their products better.

Now that the WPA tool is almost here I can test this for myself.

I'd be happier if I knew they were working on mitigating common issues people experience.

Out of all the dozen vaps I have had I still maintain that the Minivap was the most potent, I just can`t handle the LONG pre air priming of it just kills my guts. Apart from that it was fairly economical and easy cleaning, maybe a bit big (Solo on steroids) but a damn potent one shame about that long draw before the cloud production.

My GH's landed at HL on monday, and I just received updates about them. So I think it took 1 day longer than usual. Perfectly acceptable to me. Now is the part that I hate....the length of time they sit on them and test them before they are sent out.... probably won't be sent out this week, which means I won't have them next week either. Basically if you live in Canada and need an RMA for your GH, you will be without a working hopper for a month.

Fortunately my Supreme 3 is making me forget about the hopper. Something the EVO and Herbie could not do.

EDIT: Oh, forgot to mention that Caroline is alive!! Well, according to the RMA message portal anyways...as of 7:30am today :D

This time my hoppers were instantly fixed and straight to testing stage! lol Me thinks that I will be getting two new bodies.. and now it's just too bad that I can't purchase that cool WPA to throw in my return order :( Maybe i'll ask Caroline anyway :brow:

Day 2 and still no email reply. RMA message portal???

The new quick charge units are great but ya it does take a little priming for sure I don't care what people say. I think the minivap is enough now that it has a quick charge. The grasshopper is my luxury vape. Something I can take out easily without needing to think about packing it. There is no way I can just grab my minivap I need to pack it. Grasshopper I just need a lot of extra batteries. I want to use the grasshopper for nature walks. So it's definitely filling a niche I don't think any other vaporizer does for me.

I just want it to improve faster :-)

well my hopper is going back for repair or replacement , gonna miss it . love the way i can just take like three rips on it and be done . but it has stopped charging . is there any concern with sending it across the border from canada to the states ? if i just give the end piece a soak in iso and wipe the chamber a bit with q tip and a bit of iso will that suffice ?

So, I can now say I've joined the dual hopper hit club, aka, 2 hoppers through a water pipe with a Y adapter. WOW! That combo packs one hell of a punch.
That's something I would like compared to an EVO/sub/sup.
I really want my RMA and two WPAs already !

I miss the extra kick and I've been fiending so my tolerance could use it

Yeah a quick clean doing that is enough.
It could just be your charger that's stopped working, you could use an external charger in the mean time.

I just realised maybe my first RMA replacement and my 2nd GH are not SS like advertised but Ti?

Is there a way to tell? My box says Ti but AusVapes list it as SS?

Picture is hard to take. Left is definitely a SS MP. I just assumed GHL stopped buffing the SS.

If the box indicates that it is Ti there is a pretty good chance it is a Ti! I found the Ti to show fingerprints and smudges big time, compared to the SS. And the Ti has a slightly different colour/look and even feel to it. It's also definitely lighter, but you probably don't have a SS to compare it to I assume.

What does the backend serial number start with GS or GT???

You can weigh the components separately. I'm getting around 4.5g for Ti front end, 6.3 for SS front end, 16g Ti body, 22g SS body. Back ends are marked with a serial number, starting with GT=Ti and GS=SS.

The color is different ... so if the SS clip matches the rest, the whole thing is SS, if it doesn't match, then it's a Ti hopper.

The clip bit you mean the whole thing right? Definitely see a difference on that area.

E: both B/E are GT. My original purchase was GS!

Actually makes my 2nd GH purchase worth more. I believe AV still sell at $299AUD. Which is currently cheaper than GHL by $25USD!!!

GHL sent Ti stock by accident or trying to reduce failure rate with a vendor? (Conspiracy theories)

Hello All!

As promised here is a video using my new Ti Grasshopper with the new Grasshopper 14mm WPA (which is absolutely awesome and I totally recommend!) through my peyote pillar.

Freshly charged GB2 battery on my favorite temp, #3 (338F....I l'm a flavor chaser  what can I say).
Let me take this opportunity to apologize. I was pretty lit off of some black and blue dream. I promise I will do better videos and use higher temps so you all can truly see what the Grasshopper is capable of through water..

I was ripping chambers through the water pipe when I remembered to remember that I promised you all a WPA video and here it is. I hope you all enjoy. I promise to get some better videos at higher temps.

P.S. The WPA is absolutely amazing!

Hey there!

Was wondering where you got those vials/tubes in your video. Could you please let me know when you get a free moment? Thanks!

The WPA allows for you to adapt your Grasshopper to almost any piece of glass. Natively designed to fit into a 14mm downstem, it provides a new level of performance and production. Matching threads allow for the WPA to seamlessly attach to the front of your Hopper. A precision machined finish, and 10 to 1 taper provide a perfect seal with your existing glass. It will come in all of our standard finishes. We will also offer a 14mm to 18mm adapter so you can use the WPA with any water pipe you choose.

Sorry bro, when I said "you" I mean HL! :)

No worries bud, I figured that was the case. :D

Been waiting on that WPA myself, not sure how much of a difference it is going to make in regards to my Hopper experience but I am so very very curious.

Should be available by the third promised deadline, maybe the fourth, possibly the fifth or maybe never.

We are not surprised anymore. You lied last month. Boy who cried wolf. Again. :bang:
maybe we will be surprised, if they ship WPAs this month!

That line was the most interesting thing in the update IMO, my jaw might fall if they do come out with a power adapter. Anything else might be surprising but probably not impressive.

Things they need to do: WPA release, SS case/oils front-end apology/reimbursement/delivery

Things they should do: bring forth ancient promises (from their initial investment campaign no less) before making vague claims, and rehashing past sentiments that they have already failed on within 4 weeks. Get them right, or explain why and then get it right, HL. sheesh
