 I get that a lot. Also, "Don't you know how to spell Lucio?"... But no Pro Lucio here, Mei is bae.

My first car was a Honda Prelude which is Prolusio in latin. Couldn't think of a better gamer name
I bet you get that a lot if it's also your gamer name! I like the name though, and I like Preludes too.

How is that game? Would love a good snowboarding game
Very good. I was a big fan of ssx tricky on the original Xbox. I nearly did a ridiculous high score on proximity flying but hit a rock before the finish line, others had seen it and all of a sudden there was ~10 people all trying the mission I was on. Over here it's on offer for £24 at the minute.

@Prolusio Man, you are really in for a treat when you get your stuff in . I'm sure you don't need me telling you but I'm a lifelong Zelda fan as well, and man... this game is unbelievable. Way beyond expectations. I have to convince myself that it is indeed real and not a dream sometimes. I'm about 60hours in and have done pretty much nothing but explore. I've advanced the story a tiny bit and done sidequests but I'm mostly mapping the land and etc.

I've slept very very little and fulfilled next to no necessary obligations since it's come out, though I don't think this is something I'll regret. This game makes me happy to exist so that I'm able to play it.

Anyway I'm sure the world is sick of hearing people talk about this game but I've said/done next to nothing the past few days so there's my contribution. Back to being a fierce rock-climbing, moose killer.

edit:

I went in spoiler free and ate a mushroom-laced chocolate on my way home from the midnight release (lol) and the opening+story in general is unbelievable... So so well done. Avoid spoilers if you haven't already. For real, like every couple of minutes something completely new and amazing happens. The physics engine and the sheer amount of ways in which things interact is mind-blowing. It is all the best elements of RPGs mixed with previous Zelda-style meets Shadow of the Colossus plus the amazing charm.

@muunch The mail Gods were kind this week; My Switch, Alternate by Vivant and herbal restock all arrived yesterday just before a large storm that's passing through my area.. Fingers crossed that the weather will be too bad to go into work today so I can bunker down with my Zelda :D.

I've only got a few hours in last night and this morning but so far your description is very apt; this game is a masterpiece. Few minor frame rate drops but that's about it! It's awesome playing a game that's actually finished for once. I'm so sick of these AAA games coming out as unoptimized messes that ends up with all of us beta testing the bugs out for the first few months after launch.

I've been avoiding spoilers pretty good so all the story scenes have me sitting there jaw dropped as the child in me leaps for joy.. Don't want to ruin anything for anyone but I just love how this game starts out feeling like you're the hero of time in this world that needs you. It's like re-experiencing the wonder I had at Ocarina of Time for the first time with an added little pat on the back for lifelong fans like us.. Go forth hero, adventure awaits!

I was very pleasantly surprised to find they nailed the music in the new Zelda. A bunch of reviewers I saw were complaining about the music not feeling memorable or iconic anymore but I dunno, I think they must need some better speakers! Just even the first challenge you enter the music is a sick remix of classic Zelda dungeon crawling songs and I freaking loved it! Dunno what they were talking about but I'm glad they're wrong.

But I wanna send out some love for Horizon Zero Dawn as well; I did not think once Zelda got here any game would be able to attract my attention but I must confess I feel a bit guilty for abandoning Horizon, it really is a masterpiece as well. I think playing a game that's as excellent as Breath of the Wild helped to highlight that too, if that makes any sense.. Going to the bestest game that could ever be (for me) really helps me compare and contrast the games. For me Horizon Zero Dawn can't compete with the legacy or world Zelda has built, but it's far from outclassed and I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent on it. If anyone is looking for a great adventure game I would not hesitate to recommend Horizon Zero Dawn; it's probably the best adventure game in this style (other than Zelda, of course) that I've ever played.

Don't want to ruin anything for anyone but I just love how this game starts out feeling like you're the hero of time in this world that needs you.

This was the best part. No creating a save-file or naming your character. You start the game and it just jumps right in.

The music is one of the highlights imo... when you're adventuring and it just plays that ONE chord and adds a REALLY chilling dramatic effect... just damn... Also wait til you meet the traveling bard. The song he plays is amazing. I like the departure from the stories reliance on the short, simple songs of the old Zeldas. The dungeon/boss music is all amazing as usual AND highly personalized to each dungeon/etc :) They nailed it. That's why I don't fuck with reviewers. What are the credentials that make these chumps reviewers? They have a camera and some bored people on youtube watch them? Yeah, I don't give a shit about their opinions and it's funny listening to this one kid I know always droning on about "game of the year man... but red dead 2..!" How about who the fuck cares about what some committee named game of the year when your own opinion is what actually matters... (/rant off)

The framerate drops when it's docked only seem to happen when the game is loading a shit-ton of assets (aka you just got near a town or etc) AND it's raining AND foggy AND you're fighting multiple things. Other than that it's smooth af. I believe since the reso and FR drop to a lower+locked rate when you're playing on the tablet that it'd be fairly consistent framerates on the tablet but I've barely played on the tablet thus far. And either way it destroys performance of a lot of AAA games when you consider the size etc of the world and all the shit in it... Like for real, last night before I went to bed I was STILL discovering completely new and amazing things in the world.

I wish I didn't have school and etc so I could beat it this week. I just started getting some crazy shit... though I was looking at the bonuses some of the amiibo give and I may have to get some if I can convince myself it's not "cheating" to use them lol.

I watched that same kid play Horizon maybe a week ago so I don't have much to go off of but I don't even think they're comparable besides their genre. Zelda does not hold your hand at all, Horizon seemed like it was fairly easy and simple. But then again I only watched for a bit... and Zelda is easily my favorite series so I'm heavily biased.

Horizon seemed like it was fairly easy and simple.

Depends what you're looking for in a challenge, I think! Horizon focuses a lot on action and combat; using different ammo types and taking down increasingly larger and more powerful monsters by disabling key parts. It definitely gets more challenging once you get into the game enough that you can't just stealth kill every beast.

But the "puzzles" and map are always very easy to navigate with your focus power. Climbing is stupid. I agree it definitely holds your hand at these parts. But, each scan has some dialogue or codex entry to add some reward to it at least, so I never minded it as much as other games in the genre. It didn't start to feel tedious to me to play.

I feel the games are comparable in their open world, how you discover the map, the focus on story and your character, impressive sound tracks, rewarding exploration, and great world/art design. I feel the developers of Horizon put some real effort into making an engaging world and optimized game! It can't beat Zelda.. I dunno what could, but I think they're both definitely worth a play through! If you like action at least. If you're looking for puzzle solving then I think Horizon would probably be less satisfying.

If you haven't already, @Prolusio - the DLC gives you access to some chests with stuff that's nice to have early in the game. Nothing great - it's not worth the $20 yet, but I didn't feel bad buying it lol.

Also I love rock-climbing/exploring in Zelda. I just thought Horizon seemed way too easy with the marked platforms and scanner that gives you info on the mobs but I only watched the dude play it for an hour or so and he didn't do anything neat.

I'm a strictly PC+Nintendo guy. I do wish I got some of the sweet, sweet exclusives that PS/MS sometimes get but meh. I'll keep my money and save the frustrating of sorting thru all the trash :)

Mostly Mechwarrior Online competitively and some Atlas Reactor at the moment for relaxing evenings with friends.

Next MWO World Championships are coming up! Training and hoping to be at least top 3 EU this year, not just top 5 !

A bit sad over here. Invested 5+ ability points on my dodge skill in witcher 3 only to find out today that this particular perk in the game is completely broken and next to useless. Feels bad man

You can buy a potion that lets you redistribute all of your skills at any time.

Thanks, that potion costs 1000 gold though! Broke currently after finding the guy who sells cherry cordial and other exotic tonics. Guess it is time to sell my collection of broken rakes and silver platters!

So I'm gettin' the itch to delve into an MMORPG again. About 12 years ago, I used to play WoW....a LOT. Totally ate my life and had to give it up. But now, I'm gettin' the itch again. Looking at Final Fantasy XIV to play on the PS4. Gotta a few questions though.

How does it compare to WoW?
Like WoW, is it important to join a guild to raid endgame instances or do they even exist in FFXIV.
Are there still a lot of players playing it?
How easy is it to set up raiding party?
How do you or do you need to communicate with other players?
Can you play just PVE or is PVP an option?
And finally, should I also be looking at Elder Scrolls on-line as well?

Again, all this is through a PS4.

Just noticed this thread! Totally addicted to HRmageddon. Need to make a lab version. It's a free and easy browser game, just an inoffensive ad bar at the top of the screen. If anyone else gets addicted, we can play against each other. Perfect for the heavily medicated. :chill::smug:

FFXIV was pretty similar to WoW ime, but I only played a small bit off both. I've been a hardcore on/off FFXI player for a long, long, long time now though. It's up to preference but yea, a lot of people still play. You don't NEED to communicate, but it's probably good unless you read up or know everything. FFXIV is ezmode imo bc all the battles are scripted. The world is beautiful and amazing and the story is great but yeah, it was boring and the combat sucked ass and felt very very disconnected imo...

Are you referring to the original release or the "Reborn" release after they fixed it.
