Dry lungs using pax 2

Hi there.

Pax 2 is my second vape after iolite which I never really took too.

For last 10 months I have used vape and smoled pipe. Usually have pipe for first hit of day (or when drinking) and then vape.

Recently I have been trying to just use vape. I like it and have been using it more recently as I lost my job. I have noticed my lungs feel dry as if they are coated with a thin film. The coughing is not as bad as with smoking but whereas when smoking it felt like being punched in the lungs and then coughing up sh*t, with the just vaping it is almost like a dusty asthmatic feeling.

Also pipe I used more as a one hitter and vape I end up taking more hits off as it is not heat on demand. Am keen to get firefly as it looks so cool but I would really like a vape that doesn't give me that dry lung feeling and doesn't require me to take loads of tokes - Any suggestions or similar experiences?

My husband has the Pax2. I graduated to the Pax3 when my 2 died.(was replaced for free by Pax). I think it's the best dry weed vaper cause your weed flavor comes thru and your ABV looks like dark brown dry coffee grounds...you couldn't do better. But you need to vape a cartridge to soothe your throat. Learn to make cannabis ejuice. I bought Wax Liquidizer (has PEG in it) online at Amazon that turned my shatter (made that also myself using rosin tech method) into ejuice. My MMJ counselor who I saw today when I got recertified told me to use MCT (from Coconut Oil available at Vitamin Shoppe) oil to make it instead as fewer drops are needed to turn the shatter into ejuice and it's better for you. So I bought some and will try it next batch and report back:)

Couple things. Have you been drinking anything while you are using the pax 2? I would strongly recommend having a beverage during use. I personally enjoy teas. Second, using a vaporizer through a water piece will both cool and condition the vapor. This will make it less harsh on your throat and less dry for your lungs. There are a bunch of options for water piper adapters (WPA) for the pax 2. Made out of silicone, glass, and metal.

Also pipe I used more as a one hitter and vape I end up taking more hits off as it is not heat on demand. As for this, the pax 2 is a session style unit. I will work best when the oven is finished in a single sitting. If you do decide to use it for just a couple hits, turn it off right away when you are done. Then take some extra draws to cool it down quicker to waste less material. You can also use the screen trick, pax pusher from newvape, or the pax half pack lid. They all can shrink the oven allowing for shorter/quicker sessions.

That being said, there are on demand options for potable vaporizers. Battery powered and butane powered a like. Just depends how much you feel comfortable spending and what you feel comfortable using. Most vaporizers in general can be attached to a water piece, so you should be able to use them in that way as well.

Hey, it's cool that pax upgraded you! I wish we had legal mj here in england - it is dry herb only round my way - maybe I was vaping so much my tolerance went up and I vaped more hence the dryness.

No Pax replaced my Pax2 with another Pax2. I bought the Pax3 and prefer it for heat up speed and phone app. I also like the half pack lid, and of course you know to stir it halfway thru your sessions. My husband and I can get 4 sessions from one load:)

Hi @ander , I had the pax about ten months and was using a pipe a bit as well, my use wasn't that heavy and I'd often only use herb on weekend so I don't think it was my lungs cleaning - I gave up cigarettes and spliff s six years ago so have already massively reduced combustion - I did have two or three weeks of just vaping and not smoking pipe - but haven't vaped now three days and lungs feel better - maybe i noticed the dry lung more when vaping and not smoking - anyway I am wondering if firefly is smoother as its convection - when I was piping I was having micro hits and with pax it works better when packed so I ended up vaping more than i smoked - hopefully firefly I can micro dose - I love herb and can cane it with the best of them but I reckon micro dosing is just as good as using lots in my opinion as your tolerance adjusts.

@vapeymcphee I also have a Pax2, one year now. No issues with my lungs.... we are all different obviously. Recently I'm having some throat pain issues with convection... but could be something else as well!
BTW I'm a microdoser too. Doing well with the Pax2, but not without some newvape accessories...
Good luck!

@ander - do you mean conduction? Or do you use other vapes as well as pax? I have micro dosed with pax but it involves reheating the oven for the second and third round of hits - I use pax pusher and do half oven for three rounds of five hits (more at end when it is thin and wispy vape) I find it works best on fully loaded oven though for good long thick hits....

I prefer full loads with the Pax2 too...
No no I mean convection. And yes I use a DIY vaporizer as my daily vape now, and the Pax2 as a portable. But it's winter here and I probably have a painful throat infection... :argh:
