The Alternate utilizes a heat exchange system. Instead of combusting your loose-leaf products, the alternate uses heated air to vaporize your herbs. This leaves you a clean and smooth draw, unlike traditional combustion systems.
The loose leaf vaporizer is sleek, compact, affordable and packed with features that allow the user to personalize the device to his/her liking, such as: On Board Adjustable Safety Timer, On Board LED Display, Adjustable Temp, Adjustable Airflow Control, Blowback Prevention, Cooling Top Cap Unit, Removable 18650 battery, Firmware upgradeable and much more.. Most important feature is the device actually does what it is supposed to do :)

How about something like the IQ smart path mechanism.

Set a low temperature for the first couple of pulls to get the best flavour.

Set medium temp for next set of pulls to generate light clouds.

Set higher temp for final extraction pull.

The low, medium, high temps should be user definable.

Very nice , @Vivant ! Classy portable vape, accessible battery is nice. I can't say if this would be a suggestion or not being I could not find the info on your website or reading owners manual. Perhaps have a bowl size adaptor for microdosing. Many like to vape very little herb at a time. What is the chamber / bowl size of the Alternate?

Another suggestion woukd be to try and make it water tool friendly if it's not already.

Congratulations, neat website and vaporizer !

Edit : the attachable grinder (pic) is pretty neat too! not sure I'd use it (i'd have to try it ) but it made me smirk and have a second look

Looked over your site and it looks like you have near everything covered. As far as firmware I would like to see a stealth mode. Turn the display off and dim the led maybe.
Only other thing I can come up with would be an optional high quality metal grinder for folks that break plastic ones.

Looks awesome!

A "Boost" feature would be pretty cool. Use an existing button or button combo to give the heater a little extra boost for as long as it's pressed (an automatic cutoff is realistic) for the times when you want a little more heat, but don't want to go through the process of raising the temp.

When would you want to do this? Toward the end of the bowl, many people like to amp up the temp a little bit. This would do just that.

1. Definitely should be able to change temps mid session.

2. There seems to be a bit of confusion with turning the unit off. Perhaps this could be reconsidered and improved.

3. The timers are pretty short so this may be unnecessary, but if there's a draw speed sensor in place I'd like to see it shut off after a couple of minutes if no one hits it.

4. Faster heat up times are always nice. I'd like to see 30 seconds or less, but I think it was stated that it wasn't possible?

5. It may already be an option but you should be able to turn off the beep and led for stealth.

6. As mentioned, boost (either button or draw speed initiated) and some sort of preset temp paths (by time or number of draws) as well as the ability to recall the last temp used.

7. I believe it was stated haptic feedback wasn't a possibility this time, but this should be considered going forward. I personally find it annoying and would want the option to turn it off. But many blind and/or deaf users rely on this feature, which heavily limits their options. It's a small thing that can open your products to a whole different customer base.

The rest aren't firmware ideas but you definitely need preloadable capsules for regular and micro dosing, a WPA, and different mouthpieces (preferably glass). Also, maybe some sort of loading funnel.

The firmware seems sufficient but a smaller size body would be completely welcomed. I like everything about the functional features but I just can't love it, it looks like paraphernalia. Unless every owner lives in a legal state it's not something easily concealed so that's a huge consideration.

Thanks for the cool contest!

I haven't yet been able to think of anything not already mentioned. I agree very much with the ideas of being able to turn off beeps and lights.

Thanks for the awesome contest!

In a future firmware update, I'd like to see some "Stepped Temperature Session" options.

What does this mean (at least to me at the moment)?
It means that if I selected the Daytime Stepping Range, that your vape would start out at about 160C or so. Then in set time increments, it would automatically set the heat 10 degrees higher. Next time increment passes, then 10 degrees higher and so on till it reaches approx 195C.

Evening Stepping Range, vape would start out at 185C and in 15 degree temperature increments, would continue stepping 15+ each time increment till it reached 230C.

That would make for a heck of an enjoyable session vape!

Leave the other options intact, would say just to add this functionality.

Thanks again for the contest!

I would like to see maybe 3 "remembered"settings that I can could set the temps myself. I also like Daves idea of stepped temperatures in the furture.

Thanks
