Good to know!

I'll try that for the lunch!
Is it not too much messy and difficult to clean? I bet it is better to empty the bowl while still hot!

As long as you have completly vaped it there will only be a bit of dry powder like remains but if you stop when flavour goes and its a bit sticky still yeah just dump it while hot still.

My fav thing with this vape is melting the reclaim in the inner tube so it runs down into a fresh bowl it cleans it and you have a very potent bowl to vape win all round......

Yeah, this thing is a tastemaker, absolutely.

The trick to remember is the second and sometimes third draw on each heat cycle tends to be hotter and thicker than the first because the heat is transferred from the outside glass to the inside glass with each draw, giving extra heat directly on the herb via conduction as well as convection with each successive draw.

Definately my favourite sit down and relax ritual vape. Best when you can pay attention to the colour of the herb to ensure no overheating. Love the vape signature.

Agreed with everyone.
One of the tastier vaporizer I tryied (mostly convective/grassy taste) and the cig like shape is nice to handle (at least for former smoker like me)

Only bad side for me is the weak feedback (meaning the color of the load changing).
I was able to get satisfying results only by counting (using the same flame obviously), but after some times of non use I need to re-calibrate my heating ritual and this often gives some frustrating sessions (whole load charred), so I use it very rarely

That being said I never plan to sell it ;)

they send a metal screen wiith mine. i just wrap the hash in that screen. As rastavapa said, it gets dry towards the end so maybe you dont need to do the screenthing. ill try it without screen later maybe its better tasting.

guys i guess i was very stoned when i wrote the post yesterday, tast is not really metallic today
the vaponic is definetly much better for hash then any other vaponic ive tried so far. great results. first time i get better results then combusting. hash was the only reason i kepts going back to combustion. now its finally over. fuck combustions.

edit: i just tried without the screen. no difference in taste, but now the vape is much more dirty. for cleaning issues i would recommend the screen. got a lot of resin now in the outer tube for some reason. yesterday vaped 10+ bowsl and it didnt get as dirty as this ONE bowl now made it. screen is good.

Hi everyone, it seems that this nice vape is completely underrated, so I am going to show it some love. I started out vaping some months ago with a storm vaporizer (plus various water tools) and bought this as a cheap backup. However, over some weeks it has now become my main vape (at least when vaping solo). Looking back, I think it was good to have an electronic vape first to know what to expect from vaporizing (when you come from combusting). It is incredible how little material (I usually use 0.05-0.1 g) gets you quite medicated and the taste is just so pure and smooth.
Once you master it, you can select between:
  1. a long and extremely tasteful session by carefully heating below the filter which mainly leads to convection heating. This gives incredible tasty flavor until the end.
  2. a short but intense and cloudy session, emptying the bowl in 2 or 3 heat cycles by heating more aggressively above the filter (more conduction).

I only charred my load once (when getting overconfident).
IMHO this is the herb equivalent to a nosing glas for single malt scotch (my second favorite vice). I also love the ritual of heating and preparing the load.
Additionally, it is so easy to clean (1ml of iso) which will return the vape to factory new condition, with no smell at all - due to it being mostly glas.
I ordered the new vaponic plus (http://www.vaponic.com/shop/en/vaponic-plus/39-vaponic-plus-nature.html) is basically a wooden housing for a standard vaponic. It should improve heat retention and you can place it down without burning the table top (or your sofa). I will report back once it arrives.

Like a lot your post my gentle cat @Schroedinger !

Vaponic got a lot of love on my side. When I was reading your post I was thinking the Plus version would be something different but it looks like the same as you mentionned. I can't see how the wood stash box can help for het retention since I keep the Vaponic between my fingers... maybe there is different instructions and you can make a sort of heat soak in order to get a shorter session....?

Like the looks of this always been a fan of my vaponic shame they did not release a new vape but the case is cool, had a look on the site and they have some new pen cases with working pen ends and concentrate jars inside, I think an order is due.......

@PPN Thanks. I mainly ordered the Plus version because I like the idea of stuff made with fair labor and good materials and to have a more sturdy and heat resistant case (I am well aware that it is a luxury thing not adding too much functionality). I managed to slightly melt the inside of the plastic fake pen after putting in the vaponic still being too hot (on leisurely days I sometimes take some puffs during the daytime, put it away, take some puffs, etc). Also, with the wood cap screwed on, you can just put the thing aside, either for later use or cleaning without having to fear to burn something (especially if it wasn't the first bowl). Maybe you are right and the heat retention is negligible - but maybe you can get an additional puff - I will report back.

I've been rocking the vaponic for a few years now, and i use it on a daily basis- it's my most flavourful vape, and I love the ritual of using it, it makes for a nice session.

I actually bought the vaponic plus a couple of months ago too, mainly to satisfy my VAS (I just NEEDED to buy some more vapeware lol). It is just a vaponic inside a wooden case. I love wood which is what drew me in. In all honesty tho, I used it once and then relegated it to my vape draw to be brought out on special occasions or when I'm going to be vaping in public. The only benefit I really get from the Plus is that now you can use it outside without it looking so much like a crack pipe- you can heat it up with the case on, and also while hitting it you can hold the whole thing in your palm without burning your hand.

For everyday use it is just too much hastle swapping the end of the case back and forth whilst heating.

I love the vaponic and it definitely is underrated. I think all Vapcap owners should have a go on one of these- the Vapcap heating ritual will get you used to how to heat the vaponic, and the taste of the vaponic is really something special!

Peace

The Vaponic Plus arrived yesterday and I tested it extensively during the evening. For me, this upgrade is definitely worth the price (while it may not for others). While the vapor quality is, as expected, identical, it adds all the stuff I was missing. In addition to protecting the glass parts, it provides the vape with some quaintness (not sure if this is the right word): I own an old straight razor from my great grandfather in a nice box and holding the vaponic plus in hand gives me a similar feeling. I can imagine it some years later with the wood nicely aged. To extend the analogy, there are more fancy electric shavers out there, but they lack the soul. Also both are tools that you need to master (not merely consumer products), which is something that is becoming less and less appreciated, as attention spans decrease.
When vaping alone, I only keep the middle part of the wood encasing attached to the glas tube (which also makes it easier to handle for larger hands) and screw the caps on when finished (or putting it aside for later reheating).
When vaping with clumsy friends, I screw the bottom cap on to keep them from burning their hands.

Conclusion:
The vaponic plus for me is definitely worth the money for the added value and feel, as well as the added protection (hands, furniture, vaponic glass parts).

Addition: Yesterday afternoon, I tested the (preloaded) Vaponic Plus outside in the cold and rainy mountain forest (just above freezing here). In this environment, the caps proved to be really useful: After heating up the herbs, you just screw it on and it keeps the temp from dropping too fast (and you get warm and cozy hands). It turned out to be a very pleasant walk ;)

EDIT: some rewording.

I agree with you, I find when I use the vaponic plus and replace the wooden end once I've heated it, it seems to stay warmer slightly longer. And it also feels very nice to hold it in your hand like this whilst hitting it (and warming your hands).

I can see it being good when introducing someone to the vaponic for the first time- you can heat it for them, then replace the end cap over the hot end before giving it to them to inhale.

It also helps if it isn't the first bowl and your cognitive continuity starts to ripple. I realized, that for the first bowl of the evening, I do not bother to put the cap on after each heating cycle, but if I vape more than one, I put it on to be on the safe side because I get clumsy.

Is it possible to order only the wooden part if I already own the Vaponic?

Not officially (yet), but the people I had contact there seemed pretty nice. The product is still new and I assume that you will be able to buy spare parts as well at some time. I would simply ask them (I did not mind to buy a spare one). I actually thought of suggesting the same thing to them because I think the vaponic plus will most likely be from people who already appreciate the vaponic and want to add some value and convenience.

Last weekend I did some heavy duty testing by bringing the vaponic plus along to a night of Playstation gaming (90s style offline gaming: 4 dudes on a couch and each gets to play until he dies and has to pass on the game pad. The non-playing participants comment). Thanks to the wood casing, there was no worry to break anything - simply screw the caps on after usage (I was even accidentally sitting on it for some time). I heated it for my friends (to a temperature that gives impressive show-off clouds) and passed it on with the cap screwed on, so nobody would burn themselves. Fun fact: despite its very limited chamber size, my friends (smokers) were very careful with drawing because they found the effects to be TOO STRONG ;).

As I love to improve things, I treated the wood (I had bought the natural beech version) with flax seed based wood oil to make it more resistant against stains (from food and stuff) - it also looks nicer now.

@PPN : did you find out whether the wood casing is available without the glass parts?

Hi guys and thanks for your reports. I've recently broken my VapCap OG body. Vaposhop doesn't sell replacements for the moment, and I don't like the idea of buying a new OG... I think I'll go straight for a Vaponic.

I have vaponic , been using year and a half, using it every day several times! It helps me to medicate me with very little quantity, it only has two faults for me; The end burns and is very delicate (crystal)

Some time ago I used ebay for some spare parts:
http://www.ebay.es/itm/401058636355?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Not all fit the same but many are well worth it and those who walk loose use them to keep my flowers already chopped:

@Whissmu : Good idea, they are really cheap. With the vaponic plus you also do not need to bother with where it is hot because the part that sticks out of the wood is exactly below where the red line would be.

The end burns and is very delicate (crystal)
What do you mean by "the end burns", that it becomes hot and you can accidentally scorch yourself, or that you burn your load at the lower end?
