Discontinued Inhalater INH05/5S/6

Well-Known Member
I think I wanna try this one after our post Old School as the GH is my all time fave... I hope Inhalater's site is in Canadian dollars as the 6s is $349!

This vape is the next on my radar....but.... do people even buy it anymore? This thread is a ghost town, and I know there was alot of BS in the past, but perhaps they are better now? If I have the money and i'm bored, i'm pulling the trigger as I know how beast like this vape can be.

EDIT:

Called up Inhalater and had an extremely pleasant conversation with Greg about the status of the company and the product. They have improved their customer service as they admitted they became overwhelmed and couldn't keep up with demand, and things are going smooth and are ready to take on orders. Greg would love nothing more than to be able to sort this matter out in the open in public. I for one would be willing to listen and hopefully get this thread going again.

Looks like i'll be getting a unit shortly to demo and review and i'm looking forward to it!

Surprise surprise surprise (any one remember Gommer Pile) I finally got to try out the latest Grasshopper and to my shock and surprise it was not as good as I was expecting.....
I'm primarily referring to its performance... I may have had my expectations set too high... I tried a couple pinches cuz I read how much folks liked that method but it wasn't really yielding a nice yummy thick cloud as expected....so I tried again later with a fully packed GH chamber and yes it can deliver some hard mind blowing rips but I found I needed to water cool (double shower head) in order to be able to....very hot harsh tough to handle....so my buddy and I ripped it up 10-12 rips we think then we stopped getting vapor.... So here was where it got very interesting.....lets have a look at the ABV.... it was clearly uneven material towards the top was light brown while the dark toasted color I'm used to w/Inhalater was towards the bottom (no stir) so I right away wanted to know what my trusted 05s could extract if anything from this load of GH ABV.... :science:
Well I got 3 more nice rich even decent tasting rips...another 2 more rips but they were thinner and taste was degrading and of course after that the ABV was that nice dark roasted color all the way through....
I still felt it was a nice piece as are the might & crafty but it didn't wow me nor did it dethrone my 05s....
I did love how fast it is ready to extract but I also love the ease at which I load & unload my 05s.... To each their own as they say.... and for this old joint guy finding a device that is easier than rolling and gets the job done as close to complete as my 05s.... It's not going to be easy to replace or dethrone this truly powerful hybrid vaporizer.....
If the manufacturer ever gets around to strengthening its convection properties.... here is some pie in the shy shit how awesome would it be to combine the GH conv heater with the Inhalater log oven..?:science::love:

OS

interesting. ive still never tried the GH, but would love to. my 05 hasnt been used in over a year. in fact its only been used like 10 times. not that indont like it... i do. its more that i just dont get flowers anymore.

anyway... your post has inspired me to bust it out tonight. a friend gave me a few grams of GSC.

about the capsules... are they still for sale?

They are available during Eastern time business hours, and reply to text messages too! I texted, and Greg replied back with a text and then when I didn't reply he followed up with a phone call. We chatted like old vape buddies for about 10-15 mins about the 6s and pulse modulation technology. He became quite emotional over all the shit storm that transpired here previously and it's too bad that he won't be able to come back.

I will be staying in close touch with Greg as I demo and review the new INH6s which is going to come with a glass capsule and aero as well. I'm looking forward to mating this bad boy up to a bong!

It's been a long time since I tried the INH...... and it will be interesting to compare to my 4 Grasshoppers lol

The Inhalater thread came to our attention recently when a report was made regarding some arguing. At that time, we started doing some digging and are appalled at what we have uncovered; the worst case of sock puppetry and shilling in the history of this forum.

In addition to joining under several names, Inhalator posted as TransHumanC; an account that was used to deliberately mislead membership here. Inhalator used this account to make it seem as if this vape had no issues and to disagree with anyone who thought differently.

Inhalater has avoided his forum responsibilities by not posting since March (except with the TransHumanC shill account and posts today that did not address the problems). We have banned vape manufacturers in the past for coming here and shilling and this case is much worse. Inhalater, in his TransHumanC name, has come on here and pretended to be a satisfied customer and an “official tester” and tried to put smoke and mirrors around the issues at hand.

We've heard second hand information on complaints from some resellers, including one confirmed list of issues from a very reputable dealer who will no longer do business with Inhalater.

Based on this information, he is not welcome here on the forum, and we have banned Inhalater.

We're leaving one Inhalater thread up for those who own one of these models, but FC forum staff does not recommend purchasing from this company. There are other quality alternatives from companies that do business in an honest and honorable manner.

I am looking forward to reading your review.... I would like to highlight that these vapes operate in almost opposite ways.... One requires a even steady pull for best results while the other benefits from short burst pulls like we used to do when stoking a pipe...it also benefits greatly when given time to collect & store heat energy but caution you'll wish to tread softly here cause waiting too long in between pulls will over cook the shit out of it and then your good flavor will be no more..!
anyway... your post has inspired me to bust it out tonight. a friend gave me a few grams of GSC.

Awesome enjoy.... I've yet to get my hands on some of the forum famous GSC....
Yes glass caps are still available and I do highly recommend using the glass over the polyimide caps...primarily do the my earlier mention about over doing it.....well this BEAST can easily over cook and the polyimide material transfers heating very well were as the glass will tend to slow heats roll....ends up helping get your technique honed in then the polyimide caps are nice because they hold more with their super thin walls....
Looks like i'll be getting a unit shortly to demo and review and i'm looking forward to it!
Again awesome I hope you end up liking the turbo / pulse feature I don't think it's for everyone as I think it makes getting your technique down a bit more confusing may even frustrate some....
I personally prefer the 05s less confusing and I need to swap batteries being some what of a frequent consumer waiting for the built in charger to charge just simply doesn't work for me.... To each their own I say....
Can't wait to read your thoughts as your clearly a GH fan and I'm clearly a INH fan :peace:

I would still recommend people read through this thread, it will give you an idea of what sort of company you are buying into, at the end of the day FC wouldn't just ban companies for nothing.

My last dealings with Greg still confirmed it was a poorly run company and that he still couldn't deliver an empty promise, even though my last reply to him was my want to believe in the company again, positivity and all that!

So I get the desire to NEVER forget but it also appears that forgiveness is NEVER to be granted either....

I for one have been treated more than fairly although timeliness is NOT likely to ever be used to describe customer service.... I feel extremely confident that heart, spirit, & soul is solid.... & apparently persevering to still be in business... Unless their still around because their design is just that good and for me at least this is the case....
I found a device that was able to replace smoking when so many others couldn't......

Just too much effort/work/time to get where I wanted to be...with stirring & what not.... I love that I simply remove the cap blow out ABV them vacuum up some freshy fresh and away I go......nothing out there can even come close to how easy & convenient that is.....not to mention the reclaim aspects which so many vapes on the market aren't even concerning themselves with..... HUGE plus now in my world.... I may have reclaimed an old pipe or 2 back in the day but nothing like I do now with my INH's and its nothing short of amazing too btw....:brow:

I do understand how difficult forgiveness can be especially if you feel as though you were wronged and/or still owed something.... However this being a forum where the collective come to share their experiences....

I'm not really diggin the idea of FC forum staff recommending to members to NOT purchase such an awesome design.....

For the record I wasn't very happy with his shenanigans either but it didn't make his design any less awesome....

Still my daily driver... I was really expecting the Grasshopper to change that..!! :peace:

OS

EDIT: oops I had a couple key spelling errors there.... I "wasn't very happy" Greg and I exchanged several emails he better than anyone knows how I felt about his actions....:horse:

While I can understand customers that have had good to great experiences with inh to be in support of future endeavors I too understand those on the other side of the issue. The "fake happy customers" plural because it happened more then once that was embedded into our community needs to be addressed when the story is told. IMO.
This is too good of a forum and the members deserve better representation in regards to consumer reports and experiences. As soon as this company enlisted fake accounts to embellish their experiences they crossed a line that quite frankly needs to not be forgotten. Sure forgiveness helps those that have been wronged to move on but it does little in regards to preventing said issues from ever recurring again. IMO.
And all of this isn't even touching base with the CS show of all shows.

I still feel sick about all of this that has passed, with the creator of Inhalater.
I do not condone violation of policy in any situation.
This thread that remains, is no longer about poor judgement, or questionable behavior.
That has been dealt with, by a watchful and vigilant staff.
The thread is about the vape, and only the vape, since the creator is no longer a member here.
My 1st unit, the original Inhalater lasted a month over a year, and I broke the charging port accidentally, but it was replaced by @PlanetVape under warranty.
I now have the next 4 versions, all obtained in order, and they work wonderfully.
I use an 04, an XP, an 05, and an06S, and they all function well. (I had an 06, but it was quirky, and it was replaced under warranty, and an 06S was sent in it's place).
Still my daily driver...
Mine too, when I must leave home, INH is what I carry. Touch the link to see!

Thank you staff of FC for monitoring these activities so well.
What is not appropriate Behavior? Touch the link to see!
There is a thread devoted to this topic.
I started the thread, and invite you all to check it out at http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/sock-puppetry.18699/#post-815560

I'm not well versed in the differences between the two. Greg did mention that the 6s was more a connoisseur level, that newbie's would not appreciate. So I really don't know if i'd like the boost or not. So you can't swap batteries on the 6s but can on the 5s? I just remember my original 004 and you could do a battery transfer but it was very delicate and easy to break. I can't seem to gather anymore info from their website either.

And all of this isn't even touching base with the CS show of all shows.

This vape (and thread) kinda reminds me of the Versa Infinity.... I was sucked into that thread like no other, and there were CS issues there as well as their former product. Pretty sure there were fake accounts and a permanent ban, yet there is still somewhat of a cult following because the product apparently kicks some ass.

Thanks OS for putting things in a little perspective for me, I still have mixed emotions but i've never been burned by them, unlike some other big well known manufacturers that I don't want to forgive but will.

I haven't heard back from Greg after I sent him my address....i'm just hoping it arrives! I really think they need to do some price adjustments....$350usd is way too steep.... especially when they are offering it to Canadians at par....that's a pretty big difference. However, he did mention that they are getting bulk orders of 100 at a time, so there must be companies buying them up.

my main issue with the 05 was how you changed the cell. the very first time i popped the switch off the bottom i tore the ribbon wire and it was inoperable. greg replaced it right away when it happened. then i just never really changed the cell. i would love to see threads to keep the cap on and move the switch? idk. def needs to be more user friendly when swapping cells.

so i just had a go with my 05 in idk how fucking long. the samsung cell it came with was still more than ready after sitting. anyway a pretty enjoyable session aside from the capsule. all i had was the standard polyimide old school one. it was new, but had a weird bend in the polyimide and wouldnt let the cap git snug. seemed to be letting in some unwanted air. so i ended up turning it up to 9 to finish the half pack capsule. really like the size and form factor of this one. forgot how easy it is to use. im gonna have to look into a glass capsule.

Well i joined FC so i could research vapes before i purchased one, so any information about how the company operated would have been of interest, returns, reliability etc.
If the owner of a company is found to be untrustworthy and gets banned from a forum, why should members not be able to post their dealings with them?? He was removed for a reason, and future investors in their product would almost certainly like to be aware of that i'm sure.
Maybe if there was a pinned post on each page that explained why the manufacturer is unable to answer any questions on here, that way new members would not miss it when pages turn, and the same 'negative' moaner wouldn't have to turn up in here among the same positive people :)

I'm still in love with both my Xp and 05 with a small touch in favor of the Xp BUT that's indeniable the customer service is: at the better a bit "lunatic" (here i speak by experience) and at the worst very bad (here i speak about what I read before).

In my case I get a lot of emails with both Greg and Frederick about the 06S, until they totally stopped to answer to my email.... I confess I was hesitant to spent so much in a poorly supported (by customers) unit and maybe they was lazy to speak with me without to see the color of my money.... although I was already a customer since I bought both my Xp&05 directly to them!

I agree and disagree with Vito cause yes the most important thing is the vape itself (and yes that's a good one!) but the CS is very important too, I haven't personnaly to complain at all but it looks like it was a different story for some of us.

To go back to the vape, while at home, I use it mainly with the glass capsule and with the classic capsule while on the go. Battery of my Xp is awesome, it might be charged a lot more than for 300 cycles, at least 600, and it's still running with a bit less longlife (around 6x10mn cycles, it was 10 while new).

Good question, because members can post their dealings with them. That's why this thread exists, as Mod MOM indicated.

my main issue with the 05 was how you changed the cell
I've never tried to change a cell.. I have been fortunate to have had good battery luck.
I charge every time I can, whether one session or 5 in a row..
On the 2nd Inhalator the bottom was always a bit askew, but it works and never has been an issue.
vitovapes.gif

above ... my 1st Inhalater and the limited choices of portables I had back in those days.
The INH was right up there in choices.

DSC01920.jpg

It worked very well

DSC02931.jpg

The second Inhalater's "dial" is still askew to this day, but it still functions well... in fact that slight off centered angle, keeps the dial from ever moving by accident.. a more firm resistance, physically.
Also this is the last unit with a perfectly cylindrical cap with flat bottom. That makes it a good tool to hold capsules while working.

Photo%20on%202017-02-13%20at%2008.34.jpg

While the 06 and 06S work great, I am not a fan of the cap being "graduated" in that it does not stand as easily on end to use as a small extra capsule holder.. also these newer caps fit inside the top ring rather that outside it in the earlier models, making it's attachment less secure.. and I never click the cap onto the bottom... not wanting to loosen the dial as I place the cap on and off it. I vape with there two units with the cap on my middle fingertip.

Update: Greg said my INH6S would be out in the mail by week's end and that production has switched to "robot brains" which implies that each device's temperature should be calibrated exactly the same. This is refreshing as I can't even remember how many vapes i've had where the same vape would function slightly differently due to calibration differences.

It's unfortunate that the INH6S follows the S&B portables as well as some others with respect to non user replaceable/swappable batteries. However, it apparently is a quality cell that is supposed to last years. Charge time has been stated to be 6 hours, and runtime approximately 2 hours.

I'll update when I have more information but i'm really looking forward to comparing this portable with my new found love affair of the Grasshopper.

I've never tried to change a cell.. I have been fortunate to have had good battery luck.

Well when i was looking for a portable vape, my chief concern was running out of battery power when out and about, therefore i concentrated my search solely on products that had the ability to change batteries.

And that is where my problem with Inhalater lies, they clearly stated on all there advertising bumf and website that you were able to change the battery 'on the fly', even giving you a handy video to show you how to do it.

Then when they realise that this is a massive design flaw, what do they do, do they bring the customer first and sort it out, like a company you would want on this site?

NO, they remove all evidence on their site of ever being able to change the battery, even though they still sell the product they originally claimed had a changeable battery?

Oh, and at the same time get banned from here for underhand tactics, solely brought to FC's attention by arguing with dissatisfied customers!!

So Greg can claim all he wants about battery life, no use if you are out and about all day away from power, i suppose you could use a portable battery pack?!?

Or when batteries improve, or the built in one starts failing, your £160 unit is history?!?

If Inhalater are shipping 100 units a week you would have thought we were able to see more customer reviews, on here or at least on Reddit, i googled it and could not find much, other than sellers?

I have a cigarette lighter adapter that I can plug the INH into. When travelling, I can charge it from our laptop, if we are not in a car.
I also can charge it in Hotel... but rarely have to.
On all 4 models of Inhalater I have, the batteries last a long time.
On my oldest, I can only run it for about an hour and a half of sessions. (10 minutes per session)
On my second oldest I get the best battery life at a bit over 2hours of the same 10 minute sessions.
NO, they remove all evidence on their site of ever being able to change the battery, even though they still sell the product they originally claimed had a changeable battery?
I get the idea that you are not a fan.

If that works for you then all good, maybe people have different needs to yours, hence the reason some people buy vapes and multiple batteries, just not you, horses for courses and all that!

@Vitolo We get the idea, you are not a fan.

I'm w/u on this issue for sure..... I need spare batteries too no question... I typically get a bit over 90 min but I'm thinking the way I use is likely why...

I personally feel some ownership as I was in constant communication with Greg basically pushing on him to offer/allow battery swap on the fly.... I was also bitten by the cable eventually breaking:rant: :nope::goon: it was easy to see it was going to be a huge RMA burden so I worried it could put them under completely in my case I made it as easy as I could on my end asking only for the inner guts to be replaced which reduced RMAs costs & saved on shipping the entire unit through customs.... which is something I have never liked to do anyway....

I currently use my INH05s by swapping batteries all day everyday (Nitecore D4) external charger... Love it... I sight the improvements made to production and also I have improved the way in which the battery is removed and replaced....which avoids disturbing the fold in the cable  :peace:
