Again, thanks to @phattpiggie for the loan of his log, and now the addition of a full glass stem, you know what they say, do good things, and good things will happen :)
I would love to say it tastes loads better, it's smoother, etc, but i think the fact that it's took me 30 minutes to get this post together satisfies me enough, i want to say it produced more but i'm struggling to remember my name!!
I'll say it again, with the variable voltage controller, this vape can be a mellow, get up and be creative sort of guy, to a balls out, i can't see properly affair :)

Oh man.. All the impatience that I'd repressed is now back! Can't wait to have mine made

It looks like the jack from my Herborizer dial fits the HGL... although I don't know if they can work together...I didn't tried cause I don't want to fry my log or dial...any thoughts?

Depends what voltage it is if it's 12v then it may be ok not sure as that was one of the vapes I always wanted but never got yet lol...... That and the verdamker I think it's called..

I've got some PSU rated at 2.0A or 1.0 and they work fine without vvps... So I would say it's fine ?
But i can't give you an answer for your case with certitude .. there are some posts about regulated VS unregulated psu here on FC, I tried to read a bit but I didn't get a conclusion from this short reading (I'm busy organizing a trip..)

The log element is around 18-20 ohm in the SS cartridge ones i have been using so at 12v dc they draw about 60mA at full vaping temp, as long as the voltage is around 12v the current will not be any greater as its fixed via ohms law. even with an unregulated psu which i would not think a vape like the herborizer would have the log will not physically be able to draw any more current and do any damage to either unit.

I have used multiple mighty chargers with the logs many time also so i would say it would be pretty much ok to use that psu for both i reckon...

Modnote: Back to back posts merged

600mA not 60mA

Just reread that and realised

Okay, I tested my Blacwood HGL with the Herborizer dial and it works! It doesn't seems to offer higher temp but it is nice for low temp hits.

Although, as @Drexciya mentionned, simplicity is nice too....and i love the quick fat clouds it produces, actually vaping a bowl of : a drop of tasty reclaim (not the black one) on the top of a rock of scissor hasch on a bed of kief, all that in the shorty WonG, what's some fats clouds!

It's really nice to have the option of variable power.
10v bowls are really tasty, lite vapor which give me a proper energetic buzz.

Proper 'on the shed roof cutting down the neighbours over hanging tree' buzz.

I've been meaning to ask someone about this precisely. When the herb is vaped at the lower temps (say 10v for the HGL) can i set that vaped herb aside and then vape it at a higher temperature later in the day? Or is it spent nonetheless when it's vaped at the lower temperatures too?

Well that is something that I would definitely like to try sometimes. Didn't think about using the wooden stem on a lower voltage before, but that would actually be quite nice to do now that I think about it.

It's just that I only use it thru water for the last 6 months and I think I might be in love with those beautiful and big clouds.

I Am wondering how a vps will change my experience. Up until minutes ago the default setting is still great.......I am curious though.

Agreed! For a long time after giving a home to my HGL, I was more than happy to use her without a vvps. The HGL alone offers a pure, simple, and effective vape - so why interfere, right!? But lately, I've been partnering her up with my VK - and turning the temp down a little - and oh my goodness - flavour city!

In fact, she never fails to satisfy me, whether I fancy super tasty stem sips or more of a high temp hit through water - she delivers.

The HGL has been my desktop daily driver, pretty much since the day she landed on my doorstop. My appreciation for her just grows daily.

Hi all,

long time lurker of FC (used to be a member but gmail put an end to that:huh:), somehow completely missed this thread as I've mainly been using FC to satisfy my GAS not VAS.

I stumbled across a mention of the HGL on the cheap bubbler thread (page 900andsomething:whoa:), and as soon as I saw the craftsmanship of the HGL I knew I had to have one!

Created a new account yesterday and I've already DM'd Nick to get on the waiting list asap. Haven't even decided on a wood yet, but already 'excited' isn't the word!

I actually live near to one of the largest yew trees in the UK (supposedly thousands of years old:myday:) and I'm wondering if I supply some wood from it, whether there's any way Nick could use it for my HGL? Included the question in the DM so we shall see.

I currently have a Mighty vaporiser and am interested if any of you with HGLs could compare them? The main reason I want one is due to the thick milky clouded glass videos I've seen, as my mighty gets me high (as a kite:ko:) but doesn't seem to milk up glass like the videos I've seen of the HGL. Also, I've heard log vaporisers are incredibly efficient and only need tiny amounts of weed (which I'm sure my bank balance will be happy about:lol:). Am I being too optimistic or is there a discernable difference between the two vaporisers?

Other than that, glad to read Nick's health is on the up and good luck to him and his son in the new shop.

Peace :peace:

This log is awesome with concentrates paired with the full wood shorty wong, I like to put a bed of grinder's kief and a chunk of hash or shatter on the top, habitually the hash/shatter melt and soak in the kief (but sometimes it fall directly through the screen if not well centered or if too big load). that's method offer me denser hits at lower t° than a mesh screen (although mesh screen is slightly better for tasty hits, at least for the first ones).

Definitly my favourite concentrate convection dabbing device!

As long as its well dried and cured it would be ok, this can take years sometimes.......

i love yew very interesting wood ,it wood be nice to turn up some thats thousands of years old..

I have owned 4 mightys as i was an early backer and had a few problems with the first three but when i got one that was working well i would say that vapor quality is fairly close although i find the mighty makes me cough alot where the logs don't but that can be an individual thing.

The main difference is the bowl size the mighty holds up to five times or so as much herb as a log can use so i found i could vape through alot more herb with a mighty without realising lol.....

I think a mighty as your powerful portable and a log as your home vaporizer is a good combo to have...

This is exactly what i do i sometimes grind up some good quality hash with some herb then use that as a sponge for some rosin or wax, bowl lasts for ages.

i have cut up a mighty pad also and used that for concentrates or you can use some stainless gauzes rolled up in a ball works good too ,i find if you heat soak the wong on log empty then add your concentrate works well too and instant vapor..

I have just finished a few more so pics will def go up soon just so busy with kids too atm..

Take it easy all
