I want to know where to start when you would like to get into the vape industry and make my own vape and to manufacture, advertise, and sell it.

do you have any experience in business/retail sales? i ask because it has nothing to do with the vape, getting beyond start is strictly business.

Yeah +1000, creating the vape itself is surely less then half the work required, like with any product.

do you have a vape design?

the reason i ask about retail sales experience is due to china and all the people want a vape for free.

I am not at all involved in the vaporizer industry, but if I were you I would read up and talk to as many people in the industry as possible. This forum is an incredible resource for putting you in touch with those people. There are lots of great examples of successful small vapor companies (Dynavap instantly comes to mind, as it was crowd funded, and extremely successful).

As for designing device, a background in engineering and would be important. I would make sure you are well versed in Thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mechanical behavior of materials at the very least.

For manufacturing the device, besides money, you'll want to study manufacturing, and have had experience working in manufacturing before you take on a project of your own.

Marketing and selling the device is very important, but I know very little about that.

Creating and selling a product as a one man show is really something difficult. I can't imagine taking on that kind of responsibility, and I am in awe of the people who do.

Depending on your location , law might be a damper. Guys like RBT who builds Milaana in the USA as to send proof of concept (and surely other things) of all his products to some department due to a new law taking in effect in 2017 that states vaporizers manufacturers must be registered .

Otherwise all previous posters gave good advice . best wishes , Wonder what you got roasting :p

I really don't mean to be rude, but I honestly can't see being qualified for this project if you have to ask. Will you post some photos of your prototype or designs?

Let's sort the legal status first: what is the Law about paraphernalia in your country? Is it legal or not? If you live in the USA, did you follow the recent FDA changes around vaporizers?

Before going any further you need to have clear answers to these potentially show-stopping questions. Unless of course if you want to do it as a hobby and just hang out in the DIY section of this forum with the rest of us!
