Best way to remove mucus

Hi, I am a little bit asmathic, I am using an ecig since 4 years. Still I had problems because I smoked joints. But 2 years ago I removed them starting with the mflb.
6 months ago I started using the stom vaporizer, it's great, but it's stronger and make me cough more than mflb. The main problem is that I still have a lot of mucus - because all my other problems disappeared, I just remained a little bit asmathic, but nothing to worry about.
I use storm every day, so, in your opinion, there's some trick you can give me to remove/reduce the quantity of mucus?
Wich are the best plants/spices with wich you saw improvements?

Thanks a lot and have a good vape ;)

I am also a lifelong severe chronic asthmatic.

A good expectant can help loosen, liquidity and help you easily cough up excess mucus. A few that have been helpful to me have been:

Very strong hot black tea such as an Orange Pekoe will have a similar effect to a Ventolin nebulizer or inhaler. The tea needs to be VERY STRONG. Use 3-4 tea bags to a cup of boiling water. It will taste horrible and sweetening it will make it a bit more palatable.

A tea made from a few tablespoons of Thyme is a very good expectant as is an herb called Yerba Santa which I have used for years to loosen congestion successfully.

As far as vaping goes, the following post describes the technique that has helped me immensely.

Thanks a lot ! I will check it out that post in these days :)
I don't use Ventolin, I took it 5 years ago but i just used once with a strong fever. But never again (because i quit smoking cigarettes and then joints, so my asma decreased enormously), my only good friend is Foster, should be less strong then Ventolin, but it's very helpful sometimes after vaporizing weed, my breath capacity double in one second and i can breathe easily. I use it like 5-10 times per month. Mostly in winter, here there are 0-10 C° for 5 months.
Probably if i wouldn't vaporize weed, i shouldn't use it.
So the big question is: Black tea is helpful just in that precise moment to breathe easily, or in general with a last long effect (decreasing the creation of lung mucus) ? Because if it's the first one, it's easier and quicker to use Foster - unless the plant is much less dangerous than Foster, but this last one should be a light drug.

My worst moment is in the first hour in the morning, i coff like i would smoke ! Then it decrease but remains during the day.

Somebody can suggest me something else after thyme ?

I suggest taking a few tablespoons of Organic apple cider vinegar first thing upon rising in the morning. I use a standard shot glass full to the rim and just slam it down like a shot. Or you can mix the vinegar in some warm water along with a bit of honey and some ground fresh ginger to make the drink more palatable. I have horrible sinus issues that are getting worse as I get older. The vinegar immediately helps to thin the mucus and allow it to drain out from my sinuses. You want to use apple cider vinegar that has the"mother" enzyme in it. Regular apple cider vinegar has been pasteurized and holds little nutritional value. You may find that the vinegar also begins to help blood sugar levels, beneficial gut bacteria, and cholesterol levels. It is also helpful to combat acid indigestion, even though the vinegar itself is an acid......
Vaping the herb Mullein has been shown to help with excess mucus and lung irritation.

Taking N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) can help as it acts as a mucous thinner and can help gets things moving. It's also a great all around antioxidant and can help your liver for detoxing, it's actually the cure for a Tylenol overdose. I also find a couple drops of oregano oil on the tongue and then not swallowing for a few minutes helps. Burns a bit but that goes away in 1-2 minutes and I find it will temporarily clear everything out of my nose and throat. You can also whiffing a bottle too.

the real goal should not be how to remove mucus, but how to stop producing it in the first place. You have to stop eating foods that cause the body to create mucus. The biggest would be ending use of all dairy products.

Black tea has a similar effect to Ventolin but does not act nearly as quickly. Ventolin is considered a rescue drug. I would not substitute black tea in an emergency situation unless drugs were not available. That said, downing a couple cups of very very strong hot tea can turn things around surprisingly quickly. But no, it's not immediate.

I use it as a preventative during times when I typically have issues, like in the winter, when air quality deteriorates from central heating or burning wood and irritates my lungs.

I have only been without my Ventolin twice in my life. I've had this condition since age two. I'll be 58 in a few months. The first time there was a distribution problem and the second time was a result of a fire at the manufacturing plant. I usually have a enough stashed away for a few months but these two times I was caught short. I drank strong black tea constantly for a several weeks until drugs were available once more. It made the difference between bring able to work and live reasonably normal or just go check myself into the hospital for an IV. During these periods I was completely strung out on the caffeine.

Extremely high doses of black tea works for a chronic state but the caffeine levels seriously affect your sleep and thought processes. But in smaller doses such as a morning ritual, it is a great preventative and can clear out an already congested chest.

Good point. I avoid inflammatory triggers as much as possible and avoiding dairy is at the top of the list.

yes, I already decreased cheese, and in the morning i swapped milk with rice milk. but still the quantity of mucus is disturbing. At the end my only need is to reduce it, so I' ll try hot water + Thymus+Mullein flowers +sage.
I'll try NAC too. Thanks you all for your tricks! ;)

Depending where you are you may also want to get a humidifier if it's very dry and some cheap sensors to monitor levels. On a more micro level you should look into using your vape through a water piece, it can make a pretty big difference if your sensitive to dry air.

eucalyptus essential oil is one of the essential oils that helps near instantly. I use the aromatherapy cup with my spare e-nano (will probably get a fancier diffuser eventually). But, within seconds I am breathing easier, loosens the mucus. I recommend exploring essential oils, I have just started with them.

Essential oils are fantastic!

I have used a 4 Thieves oil blend successfully in an ultrasonic diffuser to clear heavy mucus congestion. It does not heat the oil and preserves all the healing qualities of the oils.

There are different recipes for 4 Thieves oil. This the one I use:

Ingredients:

Legend has it that 4 spice traders became thieves during the 15th century and created the concoction to protect themselves from contracting the plague while robbing the bodies of the gravely ill and deceased. They were caught and when asked how they avoided contracting the plague themselves, they admitted to using the formula and disclosed the recipe in order to receive a less severe punishment for their crimes.

It cleans the air, reduces congestion, can be added to vinegar as a general purpose cleaner around the home, etc. Great stuff!

I always diffuse this in a sick room. A couple of drops in a diffuser is all that's needed.

Could I use it at the lowst temprature (180 C°) with my storm vaporizer and its tool for oils?

In your opinion, for mucus and asma wich are the best essential oils apart from eucaliptus? I red that should be nice also Sage and Pine.

I had the bong mouthpiece, it was very nice, but I broke it at the second use - it's made by glass.
If I buy it again, surely I' ll put a soft armor on it - but I dont' think i'll buy it again, it cost like 25 euros!!!

I have, so far, only tried a sample of 6 cheap organic essential oils, and I don't think I've tried all of the 6 yet, even. But the Eucalyptus is really good, seconded by the Rosemary, out of the 6 I have. Now, there are different strains or 'cultivars' of eucalyptus. I have 'globulus' which is one of the cheaper ones (that's why it came in the sampler). I think, 'citriodora' is one of the more premium versions of eucalyptus, but there are definitely more than just 2. The place i have ordered from so far, is Plant Therapy, and they do apparently have blends for purposes like respiratory such-and-such. there were a couple that sounded like they could be good, on the website. although, i might try mixing my own blend, like that 4 thieves, or something from a book,

I'm not great for giving much specific advice on this, since I'm just dabbling so far. the most science-oriented books I've found are authored by Kurt Schnaubult tho.

I'm convinced that vaping cannabis is merely one form of aromatherapy though, there are other beneficaial plants.

Edit: not 100% sure about vaping, the essential oils are very concentrated, but probably? safer than straight terpenes....But, probably shouldn't vape directly....

These are wise words!

The problem is that all essential oils are not created equally safe for human inhalation. Pine tree essential oil for example can be separated into two fractions - the 'rosin' and a distillate fraction, aka turpentine! Be careful folks.

During my last physical the Doctor commented on hearing flem in my chest during deep inhaling. She asked if I was a smoker, told her I am not. But my allergies get pretty bad in the Vegas desert. Didn't want to bring up Vaping to a new doctor and back then it was still illegal. She suggested I use a sinus rinse/ flush.

If your not familiar with it you pretty much take a bottle of distilled water, add a little included packet that I believe helps the ph balance, lean over a sink and force the water in one nostril up into the sinuses where the water flushes out the mucus and out the other nostril. It feels as crazy as it sounds. The first time I did this my wife said it sounded like I was drowning.
But after, when your all flushed and clear, it feels amazing. You can breathe like you've never breathed before.
I've always used "Nielmed sinus flush" from W@$&@rt but I'm sure there are others or you can buy them direct.

So I can only use them with a humidifier?
or little warmers (have seen electric or tea-light-powered), or ultrasonic diffusers, some you can put a drop or two on a piece of tissue and put that in your nose, i've seen little locket type things with absorptive pads you put the oil on... some of them you apply topically to sprains / burns (not the respiratory stuff as much, but part of the general area of aromatherapy). some you mix with 'carrier' oils and use as massage oil...

a friend of mine said her father boils a pot of water and drops some of the oil in and just leans over the boiling pot. not the most conventional way of doing it, but seems like it'd work in a pinch.

edit: also, like 3 drops just sitting in the aromatherapy cup on the desk helps me breathe easier, don't wanna find out what vaping it directly would do.

I've used oregano oil on a bed of aluminum free baking soda for brushing my teeth for about ten years now... it really opens up the senses first thing in the morning and kills off some bacteria too.. I use a blend of olive oil to oregano oil about 75% olive to 25% oregano ...
Do you have a set dosage amount for the NAC? thanks

rabblerouser is right about the warmers. I have a few that are heated by a tea light that work great. The SSV with the aroma top works wonderfully as well. I used to leave my Surfer on all day and night with the aroma top on. Just put a little bit of water in the aroma top and add a few drops of what ever essential oil was relevant for the time. What I really love about the design is that you can still vape with the SSV with the aroma top on. Double the attack method on mucus at once. I would vape a little bit of Eucalyptus while I had some Eucalyptus oil and Clove oil in the aroma top, oh and I always like to have a cup of some herbal tea. So with the tea you've actually got the triple threat. haha

VAPEHUNTER's recommendation of sinus flushes help a lot too. I'm personally not a big fan of using them because I have some terrible drainage problems with my sinuses, but they help a ton. There are more expensive types that actually have suction instead of the standard Neti Pot or the NeilMed Sinus Rinse. Haven't tried any of the home use ones yet, but whatever my ENT has is awesome.

Squiby thanks for dropping the knowledge behind black tea. I never knew why super strong doses of black tea would help me out in last ditch efforts. But boy does all that caffeine mess me up, I'm such a light weight to it as well.

Lot's of interesting info and advice in here. I'll be checking out some of the recipes, herbs, and essential oils I haven't tried yet. I've just recently started enjoying and discovering the oils of Oregano Oil so glad to see others are loving it too.

Oregano oil is a cure all. Everyone should keep some in their natural medicine cabinet. Anti fungal, anti viral, anti biotic, anti parasitic, anti bacterial, anti inflammatory, anti parasitic, anti microbial, and even anti fucking venom so quit fucking around and get you some and like everything there is good and bad. I ONLY use medical grade lab tested organic wild greek origanum vulgare heracleoticum. It is lab tested at 92% carvacrol.

It obliterates cancer cells. A must have, in my opinion.

You owe it to yourself to get an aromarherapy diffuser. Every now and then ill get up real close to it almost like im taking a hit. best thing you can do for your tubes. My diffuser came with some lavender oil. Yes its girly but its one of the best ones for the respiratory system.
Right now ive got some peppermint oil going in my room, good stuff. Get a few different ones and change it up every now and then just like you would with your weed.

I'm just adding an advice, I don't know if it's mentioned since I haven't read all post, but here it goes;

Try vaping nettles. I saw someone mentioning it working as an allergy medicine so I had to try it, and it really works (for me at least).

Your not mentioning allergies as one of your problems, but the reason I mention nettles is because when I vape it it doesn't just stop the allergy, but it loosens up the mucus and seems so slow down the constant production of it.

It doesn't taste good, but it weirdly effective, for me at least :)

Nettles = Instant allergy medicine ;) (And hopefully an instant mucus remover in general)

Best of luck!

I'm looking into NAC ( N-acetylcysteine ) to handle mucus... do you have any experience with it? thanks
