Boundless CF / CFX / CF-Hybrid

After using the CFV for awhile, I finally got my glass bong back and decided to try it with the CFX for the first time. Wow are the two made for each other! The part that makes it especially nice is using it in combination with the ELB mod.

What you do is unscrew the bottom filter off the WPA and instead use an ELB with a top hat on it in the CF/X chamber. Screw the WPA into place and go. The top hat gives better airflow, and more importantly, doesn't gum up or get clogged like the normal filter. When your load is cached, you can just swap pre-filled ELBs in and keep going. It's a great capsule system.

Are you saying you don't like the CFV with the WPA?

I prefer the CFX with the WPA simply because the bowl size is much larger. With the CFV it's easy to finish the bowl in a half dozen or so good rips. The CFX lasts over twice as long between refills (which are a snap with the ELBs anyway).

I prefer the CFV for when i'm using it as-is though, it has great flavor through the mouthpiece.

I have a CFV and friend has CFX, how much are you packing in CFV and CFX for WPA? Do you start at 380*F ?

The CFV I fill the chamber up to the top of the wooden chamber ring. I haven't tried it with the quartz glass ring yet. I screw on the WPA and go. The problem is the WPA clogs a bit due to the material being sucked into the screen.

On the CFX I use the ELB mod - EZ Load Baskets - which come with a bucket screen lid. I put that on top of the ELB and then unscrew the filter from the WPA, and then lock the WPA onto the CFX and go. I fill the ELB 3/4's up.

I start both around 380F. The CFV I tend to finish within the 4 minute cycle. The CFX I tend to stop after the first session and raise the temp to 415 or so on the second session to finish off the basket-load.

I use the WPA on the CFV with the WPA screen removed and a ELB tophat instead, makes it a much better experience. I'm also using a finer 10 mm SS screen in conjunction with the original mouthpiece screen to eliminate clogging there too.

This kind of remark makes me think we are not made from the same fiber... No way I could finish anything I put in within a single cycle. No matter how hard I try.

After 4 minutes (sometimes sooner) at 200C Using the Arizer Extreme Q (top hat) screen as a basket there is rarely enough cannabinoids left to be worthwhile using the battery. Knowing I have a 4 minute session I am drawing more often than if I had my Solo in my hand. Since CFV is convection no need for heat to transfer (conduction) to medicine, just keep drawing.

I also top off the load with a CFV screen in the retaining ring.

Judging from the teardown above, I would go for LG HE2 or HE4 or HG2, Samsung 25R or 30Q, Sony VTC5 or VTC6.

Thanks bro might as well try to fix it ya know im getting a new unit and the orginal i just got a xmas but it seems the unit was faulty, does anyone else have to put it on 400 to get clouds 380 would give wispy hits

Yes, and sometimes warmer. Slow pulls. I use temp readings or settings really as a reference. I think we give vapes more credit for accuracy in readings than they deserve. Just in Flowermates, my 5.0s gives the same abv on 385* as my 5.0mini x at 410* and my original mini will never use up the herb as much, even at red(415*).

This also shows on infrared temp readings.

These Boundless vapes have plenty of battery power... crank it up.

Props to Boundless for yet another bonus feature that is a coincidental blessing for me.
A guy in my position, not only needs various strains for reasons of tolerance potential, but also, I require rotation of delivery systems, so... while I have preferences, I can not be uniquely loyal to one vaporizer.
As I began to vaporize after dinner... It was the Boundless CFX's tuen, and as I always do, I asked my wife if she would mind my vaping near her as we watched TV.
I blew cloud after cloud, as I do with most units...... but tonight Patty asked which vape I was using, and I told her the CFX, and she smiled and said that she had noticed before, that there was less perceptible essence of Marijuana in the air when I used this unit.
Discretion is the better part of valor.
Why advertise one's usage when it may cause emotional conflict in others?
CFX moved up in the rotation of units that I can use in places when the essence may be detected, even with me around a corner or out of sight (outta-site).
Got to run, and hit that unit! (It is condoned as an acceptable close quarters unit by my family!)

Anyone have tips for cleaning the mouthpiece? I know iso will mess it up but can I do a 20sec soak because I have dust and hair in the pathway?

ISO will not hurt the mouthpiece but will remove fuzzy finish on vape body. Remove mouthpiece and take apart soak a while. Use pipe cleaner thru end and swish around. Rinse with hot water and shake excess off. On the road again.

The CF / CFX mouthpiece is absolutely fine to soak in ISO - I've done it numerous times on mine without noticing anything change. You'll want to remove the rubber o-ring around the two halfs of the mouthpiece first. Rinse and dry thoroughly. It's the CFV mouthpiece you dont want to ISO, because of the paint finish.
