Convection vaporizer with swappable 18650 batteries.

Could this be the CFV (and Swiftpro) killer?

Retails for approx $100 less than the above mentioned convection vapes.

The FAQ on the site is all in Latin or something. I don't really speak it.

Most of the questions are answered like this on my computer anyways:
"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. In eget bibendum libero. Etiam id velit at enim porttitor facilisis. Vivamus tincidunt lectus at risus pharetra ultrices. In tincidunt turpis at odio dapibus maximus."

Yeah and the contact page is a 404 :)

"The name Vivant was developed with the idea of living the good life. Life is what we need and to live is what we want to do."

What? Theres so much marketing nonsense on this site :)

"Our initial products, which are devised by specific famous designers..." that we wont name.

While that is Latin, it has no meaning where you saw it. "Lorem ipsum" is the start of text used as a place holder when laying out a page. (At least that is what I used as an editor way back in college.) I assume it is used on web page layout as well. (Front page used to use it as a filler.)

Wow. It's an adjustable airflow Crafty with a replaceable battery and on-board temp control w/screen. Vivant even copied the grinder loading tool. The "reviewer" didn't take apart the mouthpiece assembly so I couldn't see if the internal structure copies the Crafty cooling unit. However, the mouthpiece is located at the opposite end away from the bowl, unlike others with this form factor that have the mouthpiece directly over the bowl. So it already has more cooling just because the vapor path is longer.

Very interesting. S&B should take notice... :D

I've got one and thought they did a lot right and a lot wrong. Worst part is the session controls. It has a 60 second timer, so by the time I take a hit and want another one it is time for a reheat (which doesn't take long). But the air flow adjustment works and it vapes well. The bowl is smaller than the Crafty, so the dosing capsules won't work here. The unit gets hot near the bowl and I am going to do a temp test someday to see how hot it is getting in the battery compartment. Maybe @KeroZen can give me an idea of what temps are too hot for the battery compartment.

From what @PuffItUp told me when I posted this on reddit, it is a hybrid unit. It seems like a nice unit, especially with the swappable 18650. The upgradable firmware is unique for herbal vaporizers as I havent seen one with that before. If someone know of one, please link me.

The 60 second session timer is the weirdest part for me. I would much prefer 5 minutes for the session timer before an auto shutoff. At $130, it is going to be very competitive if it's a solid and safe unit.

The 60 second timer doesn't reset even if you take a draw and the temp drops? OK, that is weird.

Once the unit gets to temp it starts a 60 second countdown timer. When it hits zero it stops heating. You can reset the timer to another one minute interval by holding in one of the buttons, similar to how the Mighty resets, only more difficult. the manufacturer is from the ecig world, I believe, so a lot of their thinking comes from that. Thus the great air flow control, but the weird session timer.

I suppose you could consider the 60 second timer to be a way of implementing "almost on-demand".

Here is some more information from a quick google search.

A couple more youtube "reviews"

This site says it is in stock, might be a pre-order situation though.

http://www.vaporrange.com/Vivant-Alternate-Loose-Leaf-Vaporizer-p/vivant-alternate.htm

Another site, not sure if it is vivant's main site though.

Sorry if any of this is against the rules. If I have done something wrong, please let me know so I can learn.

I've seen so many in the weed you tube community claim to be doing reviews when its just them using a device they've been sent for free and just go on about how great it is. Endless shilling for free stuff :)

Anyway, hope the product is a good un. Thats a great price they're offering it at.

I get an "undelivered message" while trying to contact them using their contact email....

I contacted them via email (address from their site) and received a quick, thorough, personal response.

FYI the FAQ's are now in English

I was thinking that at first. When it was on the way I was thinking it might be a booster type vape where it just heats up when you want it and then cools right down. The timer doesn't work like this at all. I hope they change this and wouldn't recommend it until they do. It vapes well, so it's got that going for it.

It's basically a copy of the Crafty, with some features you always wanted with that unit as well as some unfortunate head scratchers. The price is really low, so that's good. And the accessory list is impressive until you find out they don't work as well as the originals. Honestly, I have hopes for how this one will turn out down the road, but I think what is rolling off the lines now still needs some work first.

I completely agree. If that community if youtubers wants to continue to get free products by giving "reviews" for them that's fine. I just won't consider them a source of information. I do think they are lucky in that they get free products that are potentially worth while though.

Overall, this looks like a nifty unit that improves on some aspects of the crafty, and as @stickstones said, adds some head scratchers. Being that the firmware is supposed to be updatedable (definitely not a word), it could be fixed with an update. Looking forward to finding out.
