Hollywood legend John Hurt dead: Two-time Oscar nominee and Elephant Man actor passes away aged 77 after battling cancer and suffering intestinal complaint
.

Hurt played a huge variety of characters over the course of 60 years, from a mad Roman emperor to a pimp on the road to stardom; a circus freak, to a heroin-addicted prisoner.

He was best-known for his portrayals of the famously misunderstood and took an instinctive approach to his craft, believing that method acting was for people with no imagination.

Mike Ilitch, owner of the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers has died at the age of 87. Article This man is pretty much responsible for most of the restoration in Detroit. It's a pity he wont be able to see his Red Wings play in their new stadium. RIP.

So I was watching The Expanse last night and twice, right before two commercial breaks, they threw up a star field screen with the text:

"In Memory of BattleStar Galactica's, Captain Apollo.....Richard Hatch 1945-2017.

These two shows have a lot in common but I've never seen a TV show do this before.
Paying a bit of homage is a nice thing to see too.

R.I.P. WWF star George "The Animal" Steele. He died Feb 16th 2017.

Steele, whose real name is William James Myers was one of the WWE's WWF's most wild and outrageous stars.
Known for his green tongue and hairy chest, "The Animal" received a master's degree from Central Michigan University and was a high school teacher and wrestling coach in Michigan.

The news of the passing of John Hurt was painful to me. I viewed him as a truly unique and outstanding actor and talent.
