Are a Grasshopper units caught up on shipping? I've hesitated only because of the yuuuuuuge delay. Vapcap? Haven't heard of this one... do tell! Also considering the Haze V3.0.

Anyways on to Pax 3-- is there anywhere to explain the games and how they function? I never unlocked them in my Pax2.

It seems going by the GH thread that they're still doing the run around on customers and giving unrealistic delivery dates, not to mention the (obviously biased but still concerning) failure rate on FC suggests symptoms of a bigger problem, not that that IS the case.

On the other hand, it's cheap and I can say from first hand experience that through glass it hits like a steam train. If you're international be prepared for the cost of warranty shipping back and forth. :2c:

Agreed. Kinda interested in trying the discreet setting just to see how little it smells. I feel like it doesn't stink nearly as much as Pax2 did. Agree?

I'm digging the flavor heating profile. had the longest session with it a couple of nights ago on a half pack. The profiles are legit and have me excited to play with them all!

Dude I hope our engineers never read this, I'll never doubt them again, but the most surprising thing for me was that each mode actually gives you a noticeably different experience.

OK so I composed myself first, but I wanted to give my impressions. A tiny bit of background: I owned Pax and Pax 2. I really enjoyed Pax, and even made sure to keep the mouthpiece lubricated so it didn't stick. It worked well for me, but I was looking forward to Pax 2. Pax 2 still got more love than my firefly 2 mainly because of the inconsistent results I got with firefly. When it worked well, it worked REALLY well, and the flavor of convection is WONDERFUL.* (*when it works)

THIS THING IS AWESOME!! Thanks Paxlabs!

Pax 3 Impressions and Comparison

I ordered the Pax 3 in black. Packaging as usual is top notch and feels like an Apple product. The accesories look nice, and I appreciate that they include 3 extra screens and the multi-tool. Honestly, I grabbed the charger and the Pax 3 and left the rest in the box for now.

Hardware
Charged it up, noticing that the charging dock is a bit more magnetized this time than the Pax 2, but my old Pax 2 charging dock 'cradle' I bought aftermarket will work with this one too. The finish is shiny. Like REALLY shiny. The first time I had it in my pocket with the charging cable, I got a tiny scratch on it. I sorta wish I could put my red Pax 2 casing on my Pax 3 guts. :D Looks awesome, just worried about durability. Looks and feels just like Pax 2 size and dimension wise.

App
The app works nicely. My unit was updated before I could even connect to it the first time. I like the color themes... I went with Mars since it's got a cool blink between red and green around the LED petals. I like the fine tuning available, and I haven't really messed with the games or other features of the app yet. Compared to Firefly's app, this one is more visually appealing, intuitive and connects much more quickly and reliably.

Usage

The heat-up time is truly 15 seconds. It's a nice upgrade over the Pax 2. I am someone who leaves my Pax on the lower end of the temperature spectrum (370-374), and I chose the "Flavor" profile to enhance cool down and maintain maximum flavor. The haptic feedback was useful as well; maybe because of my setting (Flavor), but I noticed lots of haptic feedback, I guess every time it heats back up you get the buzz (LOL).

If you know how to pack a Pax or Pax 2, you know how to pack this one. Tight pack, fine grind. Flavor is a bit improved, but it's still a conduction vape. Again, a nice and noticeable upgrade. I noticed that the flavor stayed much more consistent throughout the session and didn't drop off the way it would after a bit with the Pax 2. Draws are much easier with less back pressure and resistance than the Pax 2. Whatever they changed about how the screen sits in the bottom definitely worked.

Overall, does it feel like the Pax 2? Yes... but with noticable upgrades that keep Pax quite comparable and competitive with the "smart vapes" that are coming out these days. This one will be my main vape, and I don't regret the upgrade.

So happy to hear! Sharing this with the team :)

I've just ordered the Gold Pax 3, I'm really looking forward to using this! The Pax 2 was top of my wish list when I got back into vaping last year however as news of the Pax 3 had already been released I decided to purchase some other vapes and wait for the 3.

This will be vape number 5 and I'm sure will be my number 1 portable, just a log needed now to complete my collection and I'll get that later in the year, probably a birthday treat...

My replacement/new Pax 3 arrived today.

Returning a non-functioning Pax 3 wasn't an ideal way to start a relationship with a new (to me) vape brand - but I do appreciate everything @Ojan_at_PAX did for me!

And I appreciate Pax stepping up and shipping a new vape.

And? How do you like its performance?

Ha. No review yet.

In the one session I got out of the old one - I liked it very much. It depends what you're after.

Folks here seem to dig convection over conduction for the most part - but I very much appreciated the instant pull conduction provided here. Compared to the Might or Crafty (both of which I own), this was a much easier/fuller pull.

Flavor wasn't as great, maybe, but there was less wasted breath.

Depends what you're after. There is potentially a spot for the Pax 3 in everyone's vape library.

Hey friends, wanted to let you all know that Bryan White, our VP of Product, is hosting a Reddit AMAA (ask me almost anything) tomorrow at 11am PT/2pm ET over here. This is a good opportunity for us to keep learning from you, and for you to ask those technical questions I sure as heck can't answer :)

what do you think about smell? Had pax 1 and no complains from wife, got a pax3 and she is complaining of the smell, some friends could feel... on pax 1 i didn't have to pack tight and on pax 3 i'm having to, much more vapor

Have you tried the discreet profile? I haven't yet, but I'm betting that would solve the issue. I've left it on "flavor" when I've used it so far.

Is it a smell while in use, or after you're done?

If after and its residual smell, you may want to get the pax caps from @Ratchett. I'm sure that will resolve the issue.

So this morning I received my new gold pax 3 and having never owned a pax I was impressed by it right from opening it! The look, touch, feel, accessories, everything felt pretty good however I had a busy day ahead so left it on charge whilst I went about my business.

I have now hooked it up to the app which was easy enough and I've used one half load with raised mouthpiece. I am impressed after one use ad I'm really looking forward to testing it out further, I am happy thus far :)

Just wanted to say that the AMA on reddit yesterday was great. Learned a lot from Bryan and about the Pax 3 and era.

@Ojan_at_PAX are you guys planning on creating your own WPA for the pax 3 any time soon?

Thank you for the post, wasn't sure if it was some kind of webinar or whatever.

@Ojan_at_PAX

Is it possible to suggest to Bryan that we need a way to play with the app and be able to adjust the setting without the oven heating up. I literally have to be careful with whether or not I have a load in the oven before I play around with it. But: otherwise, Im a huge fan of the pax3

I'm trying to register my Gold Pax 3 on the website for the warranty however under 'select your product' there is no option for any Pax 3 other than Black

I'm UK based so no idea if this only affects some countries however would I be okay to register my Gold Pax 3 under Black Pax 3?

The other choices listed are Era and Pax 2 models...

Other than that, I am having great fun using the Pax and the app. I must say for my needs and lifestyle it won't take the place of my Arizer Air however I am delighted with it and it definitely has a place in my collection and it will used very frequently.

Great job on getting celcius in the app as well, I noticed the change yesterday and was delighted

I think you should pm @Ojan_at_PAX and ask for his direction on registering your pax3 for warranty. I'm sure he'll help you quickly.
