Here are some different pics of that walnut..

I have just received some new twisted 316 screens to use for my basket screens and log screens from now on they are very strong and hard wearing with a slightly different pattern ,main reason is to make sure they hold there shape well and don't move when hot and been tested last few days very impressed so far.....

more pics coming soon..

Thanks mate. Now heading home to give it a whirl! Not been this excited since I got my first vape a few years ago! :D

Enjoy it man. That looks like a really nice piece. I hope it brings you as much excitement as it does for me. I took out the mouthpiece last weekend and the taste was really great. Have been using mine solely thru water for the last six months prior to that.

I really like that twist.
Thanks, it's a piece of Sapele that I rescued from a huge pile, it's got a nice iridescence to it.

Sounds, burner and log all pumping today, a couple of nice bowls of kief put me in the zone. Tasty as.

@RastaVapa you need to make sure you can get one of these in the new shed. Toasty as.

Just discovered the world of log vapes a week back. Placed an order with Nick yesterday. Let the anticipation begin!! :D
Which wood did you pick?
My Blackwood is very classy but since it's a very dense wood, it heat soaks and can be quite hot in hands. Don't know how look the Cocobolo although.

All in all that's will be still an amazing and powerfull vape!

I'm still deliberating between the Blackwood and Cocobolo. Does the Blackwood overcook the herbs due to the heat retention? Or does it only get hot to the touch?

Either way I'm already looking forward to a fun experience with the HG Log when mine eventually gets made! :science:

Massive thanks to @phattpiggie for lending me his log, and thanks @RastaVapa for making such a hardcore device, i've been using it the last 2 nights and have been unable to post my gratitude/findings until now :)
I've only used it in a shed environment before, so sat in the comfort of my own home has only made it an even nicer experience.
As for it's performance, it delivers, you don't have to go hard if you don't want, but if you do, it definitely gets it all.
It's certainly on my want/wish list, for now i'm just gonna make like i'm out if @phattpiggie calls round for its return :)

I've been using my HGL for a couple of weeks now and WOW! I love this thing. I thought it was a dud to begin with as it wasn't vaping properly.. turns out I was just a bit eager and not letting it heat up properly.. left it on and forgot about it for a couple of hours and boom.. I'm in love. I might even order another one.. @RastaVapa if you get any full glass gongs in, without the silicone please give me a shout as I'll have one straight off you.

Anyone know if the silicone bit will be okay with an ISO wash?

I find there is always a slight bedding in or initial warm up period before they start firing properly I normally just test they work before I send them out so I don't even get the wood hot.

Glad you are liking the log I have tried to refine each one and make them as simple and reliable as possible, you are the fourth person to reorder so people must like these logs as much as I do.......

thanks @Ruta I can still do that internals only kit for you if you are still interested I will pm you soon......

I have recently been chatting with a company that makes extra strong screens that are twisted at every overlap so make a very rigid setup that lasts much longer than standard screens they are called TTwisted screens and are made out of 304 ss, I am now using these for my basket screens for the glass stems and gongs as once positioned they do not move even when hot and full of resin.

I am getting the 10mm versions soon but atm I just have them for basket screens only, I can also get them made possibly in grade 2 titanium for anybody that would be interested but I will have to wait a while for them.

The manufacturer should be a member soon and make a thread as he will do all the most common sizes for a multitude of vaporizers not just on my logs I highly recommend them for all vapes.

Take it easy all should have some more pics soon as I am finishing a few more....

Oh Yeh I forgot I iso my silicon all the time not sure if it's safe but mine seems not affected by it so far..

Cannot wait for your manufacturer to get on board.
Do they produce

Hopefully purchasing a Mist Vaporizer Touch as a daily portable driver.
Would be interested in additional stems.

What is the recommended grind of material?
Have a grinder that turns material to dust.
Have been careful with the Life Saber Vaporizer to get baskets that sit snuggly in the 18mm male.

how long is the wait for one of those beasts

Atm it's proberly a few months at least as illness put me back quite a bit but my health has improved recently so I am getting lots done now but I can put your name in list and when I get to you I will contact and chat about what extras you need etc plus wood types.....

They done the design and stuff then they have them made in China I believe, they are a medium to fine gauze which I find just about right myself and I have even torched the TTwisted screen in my daisy multiple times now and it's still pretty rigid and holding its own..

Did you mean what's the best grind for the logs or for these screens? The logs you can use whole bud all the way to fine grind does not matter although if you want the best results straight away I would opt for medium grind and just pack loosely, but a fine grind will work well too.

I punch my baskets to fit in the glass tubes around 10mm but any size can be made, I have sent out some of these to a few people last week we should hear soon how they are getting on with them.

Take it easy

I think the grind differs from strain to strain. The HGL will be able to process fine, medium and course grinds. Even a whole bud will do, but a little stirring is required.

That looks amazing!
Loving the blanks with a blend of heartwood/sapwood.

Will/could you work with Purpleheart or Leadwood?
Saw them as part of the exotic wood.
I understand this would be subject to availability.
