Guys? What are your opinions on how to clean the area between the oven and flavour chamber? I mean the "tunnel" behind the oven that goes to the flavour chamber. There will be a lot of residue build up but Davinci has no instructions how to clean this area... :)
The rep has told us to use a cotton swab, damp with ISO. Stick it down there and twirl.
This worked well for me, back when I had an IQ

How have you managed with the unit becoming uncomfortably hot in the hand while in a session?
I don't touch it unless I am about to take a hit. I mentioned that for me it does run hot not burning or scolding but you do have that "damn" this thing is kind if hot feeling. I do like my sessions long though so that might be a factor also. For me 2 or 3 10 minute sessions in a row at 350 F = 1 session.

Why did you get rid of it if I may ask?

I'm thinking of getting one and this cleaning issue is the biggest thing holding me back. Feel like it might drive me nuts in the long run
I sent it back via RMA, my IQ was received by DaVinci Dec21st, they shipped out a replacement Weds Jan 4th. I can't track it cause the number is wrong. I had my IQ 8 days before failure and I needed 5 days to get my RMA number from CS.
The cleaning issue is a non issue. I found the unit easy to clean, I love the chrome surfaces.

The dimensions are right in the name 18650. These batteries are 18mm in diameter by 65mm in length. Now some of them can vary in length due to the wrapping my a fractions of a mm like you have found but they should still fit as long as you are getting Flat Top 18650's.

.

So this manufacturer is producing out of spec batteries as it is 62 and therefore i need to complain to them of bad batteries as a next step. They are .11 high. Your battery is low by a lot more. I am not sure what to do in future.

I checked the size of the 2 batteries. Iq shipped battery 64.43 mm long while imr battery 65.11 mm long.

imrbatteries.com is the best store to buy batteries at a great price, almost everyone with mods and vaporizers shop there.

What gives.

At the Davinci website, in registering, last name is required, but the field is empty......

Vape swap shop
Additional Taxes and Duties are determined by the local customs departments. That is just the government taking their piece of the pie.

When we ship out your package we pay for shipment and declare the package value on the forms. It is out of our control if the customs department add additional fees to that package based on their local laws and regulations.

I still dont get this. So why do international customers pay "extra tax" at checkout. Do american buyers pay this also? What is this for?

:DExtra flavor chamber... check, extra pearl to try for smaller loads... check, extra 10mm mp...check. Honeybird combo... check! Now I don't have to wait to clean parts, swap, soak, vape!
edit: spare parts up on dv's site:tup:

Now the carry case has disapeared. I really wanted one of those!

In regards to the honeybird. Without the adapter, is the fitting a standard 14mm female? Can i use this with other vapes? Dont like the idea of a water tool i can only use with one vape. However this does look like a neat compact bubbler.

In fact people pay twice the tax, one to the USA and another to their government!

Some manufacturers in Europe offer a special page to order without the european tax and you'll have only to pay the tax of your country (look at Venusvaporizer but I think others manufacturers do that). I'm not sure US manufacturers offer this option... at the best they prefer to declare a lower price so you will have not to pay any tax to your country but you still pay the US tax, america first:D!!!!

was on the dvinci site a moment ago,
tried to buy accessories for the iq,
at checkout (paypal) i was able to use the store credit
(20%) from the points,
but the 51$ store credit that where promised when preordering an iq, did not show up!
also when i then tried to use the points
i had to go to checkout via paypal
than i was set back to dvinci for confirmation
and then there was the ability to click on use my store credit
(the points not the 51$!)
when i then clicked on that button i could not check out through paypal anymore,
there is written "use paypal" but you can not click on it,
you can only click an other button that says "use alternative payment method"
when i click on this one, i loose my store credit!!!!!!!!!!
dvinci WTF!!!!
this is poorer than poor,
this was my very last try to buy from your site!
i wait until there are accsessories available in europe
and only if replacement parts are needed for the iq....
as i said before, i like the iq,
but i am deeply disappointed by the company....

I've raved about the IQ for good Reason but here are a few things I really don't like about the IQ in my experience:

1) 5 click on/off. Total pain in the ass.

2) battery indicator is unreliable

3) pearl spacer is only good in theory. Laughable in practice. Not to mention it will propbanly tear off if you screw with it.

4) vibrate is too chintzy sounding. Like a cheap vibrator.

5) the mouthpiece is prone to flying out when opening lid. Poor design for swappable a mouthpiece.

6) filling the "flavor" chamber doesn't do anything in terms of enhancing flavor.

#5 has never happened to me, and #4 is nitpicking. Agree with the rest.

Edit: I only use the straw mouthpiece. Maybe that happens with the flat one.

At the Davinci website, in creating an account, the required last name field is missing......:hmm:

Also, there seem to be some issue with the bottom fields.

The upshot of the missing field is an error message: "Last name field is required".

A catch 22.

I would also like to know how to get credit for having taken part in the 2nd Davinci survey; & how
to register one's iQ.

Thanks!

stark1,
I picked up two batteries with my store credit and found this sticker on one of them. They're advertised as 3500mAh on the site. Has anyone else noticed this?

I hope that my unit will not develop this problem

This image is very disconcerting to me. Ceramic is manufactured using particle masks so as to no inhale the powdery ceramic - apparently it is very bad for your lungs.

Now, DaVinci has already come back to say that all of the units will have a single, perfectly straight crease as part of the manufacturing process. In the above image, that is the crease to the left. I too have this. I am not concerned about that one as much.

But, @Davinci_vaporizer should we be concerned with ceramic cracking? How do you theorize this could have happened given that the units were stressed tested. Hoping it is an isolated event.
