For those who have this vaporizer, how long does the battery last? Im looking for a few sessions here and there, not heavy use. Will 1 suffice? How many sessions do you get from one battery charge? thx
About 5 -10 minute sessions per charge.
Replacement batteries can be had from $6 - $12 each...so having a few Handy never hurt anyone.

I have 6 18650's which is enough for a day with the vapes I use with them.

Vape newb random thoughts on the IQ:

Have had the IQ for a few weeks. It's awesome. Got it very quickly and commented on that in the order status thread.

I haven't played much with the smart paths. I mostly tend to create my own sessions by manually manipulating precise mode. If it's just me I set it to a low temp and have a short, sweet tasting session, say 350 to 360. That might be with a partial pack or a full pack for later use. I generally dont like the idea of leaving unspent herb in the vape too long. Like a bottle of nice wine - consume in one session. If I'm feeling greedy and want to get really buzzed I'll kick up the temp after the low temp feels like it's slowing down, up to 370 or so. If its' a bunch of people I usually set the temp higher to start, like 370 to get things rocking and rolling for everybody quickly. I guess it's the OCD in me that wants the direct control of the session and I make the adjustments (temp vs time) based on what's up with that unique session.

In all cases when it feels like the vape is running out of steam I kick it up to like 400 or even 410 to get everything out of the herb. The ABV is uniformly dark brown and I haven't been saving it cause it looks really, really spent. I like how well I'm able to finish off the herb in the IQ.

I always use the 10mm mouthpiece. It looks cool and the draw is awesome. I tested the draw on the stealth mouthpiece with an empty chamber (and IQ was recently cleaned). I found the draw with the stealth mouthpiece way too restrictive and that was with no herb. That bums me out as I worry about the 10mm moutpiece getting dammaged when stuffed in my jeans pocket and accidentally bashing it. Plus its less stealthy ;-). I may try a session to see if I come around on the stealth mouthpiece but it reminds me too much of the Pax.

For point of reference I have tried several friends Pax 1,2 and 3's. I was never impressed with the draw on the Pax's but I have no idea how well they were packed or cleaned. I also have an original firefly that when it works is awesome but it tends to be a bit flakey. Bought it second hand really cheap and replaced the failed battery. Nothing I've used yet beats that flavor but this one needs work to get the rewards. I do save my firefly abv.

Last note about the complimentary stash can. It was a really nice gesture of DaVinci but I wont use it. I got very spoiled by some titanium stash cans (for pills, tea, cahammomile, etc). I got on kickstarter. The Davincii can has internal threads that are very rough and it feel like the herb will stick all over them. Also don't dig the external o-ring but really the roughness of the threads is what turned me off. It almost feels like you can get your finger in there and flake some the threads off. Yeah, OCD.

Well thanks fer listening. This mega thread has been really helpful in my decision to purchase the IQ and to get pointers on how it runs, what people are doing with it yada yada yada. I'm on a bunch of forums for various hobbies and it's great to see the helpful vendor input from the DaVinci folks. Don't always get that everywhere, cherish it.

Still loving my IQ. I'd definitely recommend to anyone to make sure they get a 10mm adapter and some kind of water piece or the honeybird combo as this thing is great through water and for me I need water for the higher temps.

I bought a couple of extra batteries and they fit and work perfectly and I think they're identical to the stock battery. these are the ones I got:
Sanyo NCR18650GA 3500mAh 10A Flat Top Battery

One thing I'm still a bit concerned about is the amount of vapor I get from an empty oven after cleaning my IQ.

I'm cleaning the area between the flavor chamber and the oven with the brush and iso as thoroughly as I can. I'm just a bit paranoid that there's any amount of material whether herbal or cotton or otherwise that could be stuck between the oring and the oven.

If I fully clean the oven and all of the pieces with iso and let everything dry, then start the IQ up to 430F while it sits and there is still a pretty significant amount of vapor production from an empty freshly cleaned oven.

Anyone else have the same behavior in their IQ?

How have you managed with the unit becoming uncomfortably hot in the hand while in a session?

Yes I do...it's common if you ask me. There definitely is a layer of build up between the flavor chamber and the oven! All ISO and q-tips do is push it to the edges.

I recently used a cuticle trimmer with a curved end to scoop out quite a bit of black paste between the area, it's the same stuff that builds up in the flavor chamber...be gentle though and make sure you don't damage the rubber gasket above the oven

Hmm...maybe Davinci should come out with a special tool for cleaning that area.

Does anyone know the size of the rubber o ring that goes around the top of the flavor chamber? When trying to remove it from the top with the pick tool, I tore it. I don't want to pay 13 bucks for alcohol wipes that I don't use, a cleaning brush and and extra mouthpiece gasket (it already comes with two) .

Question for those who have the honeybird core - the IQ comes with a 10mm adapter. If I buy a nectar collector, do I have to buy the one that has the nectar collector with it, or is the 10mm adapter that comes with the IQ all that I need to use the honebird core? Thanks @WakeAndVape for the answers on time!

They do make you pay but apparently you can get the money back when you show the receipts to CS.
Just spoke to Davinci and they will NOT reimburse canadian buyers on any customs/brokerage charges. So if you think that is going to happen, I have bad news for you. They are telling me now February to ship to CDN distributors. A couple of weeks ago they told me end of December. Ive worked for companies like this before and the fact that they are so out of touch with this timeline should concern any potential CDN buyer IMO.

It looks like the core is 14mm female and won't work unless you buy the other piece or a 10 to 14mm adapter. The thing with buying a 10 to 14 from another source is making sure the peices are comparable ISO vs american length for instance...so buying the peices together saves you from having to search.

Someone who actually has the honey bird can confirm if it's true...aye @disGRUNTled?

Yeah the adapter is needed . I bought the kit from Davinci as like you mentioned you know it will work as intended.I thought the price as is 70 $ was steep but I had 45 $ in credits so I pulled the trigger. IMHO its worth it nice little piece.

Seriously? Can anyone, preferably from @Davinci_vaporizer explain why this might be the case? If I can be assured I wont get customs or duty charges, Ill order one tomorrow.

Has anyone in Canada on this thread been charged duty/brokerage?

Additional Taxes and Duties are determined by the local customs departments. That is just the government taking their piece of the pie.

When we ship out your package we pay for shipment and declare the package value on the forms. It is out of our control if the customs department add additional fees to that package based on their local laws and regulations.

hi everybody ! and a happy new year to you all !!!

after being not so happy about the extra taxes i had to pay etc..
i must say like others here, that i am rally impressed by the device.

other thing is,
i went to the davinci page today,
to see what i could find for the 51$ store credit,
a credit they have mentioned when preordering,
now when i go to the rewards site, i see that i have 275 "points"
and if i use them i can get only a maximum of 20$ store credit for 250 points...?!?
@Davinci_vaporizer can you please clarify this, thank you.
also :
@Davinci_vaporizer
2 weeks ago you pm'd me about the 81,33€ i had to pay extra taxes for luxemburg-eu,
you told me to send an email with fotos of the reciepts for the taxes etc.
i did this directly and never heared back from anyone from davinci...?

i like the iq but i am not sure if i like the company.......

The points are part of our rewards system. In our rewards program you are given points for the amount of money that you spend in our store. As you gain more points you will receive rewards and promotions for those points. Your store credit is connected to your Davinci Vaporizer account and can been seen at checkout. If you are not seeing your credit send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll investigate what is going on.

What constitue "owner"- ship? I had shitcanned my paperwork.

We would need a proof of pruchase for your Ascent or Davinci. If you ordered from us direct we can look you up by name!

An inexpensive EDC knife pouch for your

Lol all safe now!

I speculated the IQ was out of spec because the battery i received was 65.11 mm long (and did not fit) and the only information I have been able to get is the spec for the 18650 battery is 65.2 mm long. I would love to find the actual hardware spec. If anyone has it or knows where it is I would love to see it.

The dimensions are right in the name 18650. These batteries are 18mm in diameter by 65mm in length. Now some of them can vary in length due to the wrapping my a fractions of a mm like you have found but they should still fit as long as you are getting Flat Top 18650's.

I don't want to pay 13 bucks for alcohol wipes that I don't use, a cleaning brush and and extra mouthpiece gasket (it already comes with two) .

The O-ring in the flavor chamber is 8mm in diameter. Should be able to find them at a local hardware store.

You will need both parts of the Nectar collector combo. The the Female joint tip attaches direct to your 10mm Extended mouthpiece that comes with the IQ. If you already have a Nectar Collector Core then you would only need the Joint Tip. If you only have the IQ and want to add the Water filtration system you will need to buy the full combo from this link.

@Randy Lahey, my IQ arrived today, i had to paid 55 CAD$ of custom taxes. Ship to Canada,Qc .

@Davinci_vaporizer can you tell me why did I had to pay 55 CAD$ of taxes at the delivery of my IQ ? Ship to Canada,Qc

Edit: The batterie you send me whit the IQ is defective, after one session of 10 minute i have low batterie indicator. I tried to charge the batterie by the usb charger of the IQ and by a Netcore Digicharger D2 but twice after 10 min i had batterie low indicator and had to plug the IQ to continue my session.

Hey @Davinci_vaporizer you didnt reply at my post ?? My batterie is defective

You may already know this(apologies if so), but it doesn't necessarily mean that your battery is low when the battery indicator flashes. Mine seems to flash each time the battery discharges enough that the lights within the illuminated battery decreases by one. After the first time that my battery indicator flashes I am able to get another 3 or 4 sessions out of it. Also, sometimes you'll get a false low battery indication when the unit is first getting up to temp because it takes more energy to get the IQ hot than to sustain temperatures.

Also, are you sure that you purchased Unprotected 18650's? It is my understanding that "protected" batteries are a little longer because of the extra space needed for the circuitry.

Yes i know all that. I'm talking about the battery coming with the IQ. When i put the full battery in my digicharger it show me 4.20 volt, so full charge and when i connect the IQ to the usb charger it show me full batterie, but when i turn the IQ ON I have only 2/5 batterie. I think the battery is not having 3500mah at all. That why it show me full charge when i don't use it but show me low batterie when i demand some power by turning the IQ on.

I ask @Davinci_vaporizer on this post and by email, but no reply. Before i buy from them they where very quickly in there reply, like 3-4 hours max, after the purchase they start to become very slow in there answer and now they juste ignore me. They seem to dont wanna respect there ganranty ....

I'm sure they are very busy with the release of the new product. My pearl ripped off at the post, I sent davinci customer service an email, and I am still awaiting a response. I sent davinci on the forum a PM, and got a response a few days later. I am giving them the benifit of the doubt... for now... that they are getting caught up, and working on all of these release issues, and that is why it's taking so long. If I don't see any moves toward resolving my personal issue in a couple weeks, I will start to get a little worried and frustrated.
But until then, I'm going to not stress out, and have a little patience..

Hi all, I've been having some problems with my IQ and I'm hoping someone can give me some advice or pointers. When I take a draw from my unit the temp drops anywhere from 7 to as much as 16 degrees. I pack it tight and full with a fine ground and no amount of experimenting has successfully alleviated this problem. I can literally feel the air blowing thru my hand as it gets sucked into the back of the IQ as I'm holding it. Because of this heating issue my battery life is never capable of powering the unit for more than 40mins. Anybody else has this problem or has figured out a way to remedy this? It's very fustrating because I'm always worried I'm not gonna last the day.

Guys? What are your opinions on how to clean the area between the oven and flavour chamber? I mean the "tunnel" behind the oven that goes to the flavour chamber. There will be a lot of residue build up but Davinci has no instructions how to clean this area... :)
