Nice review blaze, but my question is have you tried the original extreme? How are the temps compared to the old Ver? 230 seems very high to start off at, I usually put mine at 190, and go from there.

Thanks zuse. this extreme q was actually the first "proper" whip vaporizer i've ever used. i'll admit i tried one of those bc vaporizers many many years ago, and i wasn't sure if it worked or not. thinking back, i'm pretty sure it did nothing at all except make me light headed from inhailing through a tny tube for so long, waiting for the buzz to kick in.

MHm np. Have you tried starting at a lower temp? Usually 230 is where you wanna stop about, I start ata bout 190 and goto 230, THC vaporizes at 185C, so since the heater is where the temp sensor is the bud is goingt o be a little cooler. Good luck trying to find the best settings though :).

hi,

in addition to my first post i have to say that now, after some days of using/testing my v-tower, i have to note that i do prefer my cano.:ninja: the v-tower is nice. it gives some bigger hits than the cano, but in the end i get more vaked using my cano. and it seems that the cano is mo efficent in getting the things we want out of the weed. i use more in the v-tower to get the same effect. don't know why because weed&time of inhaling is the same. also the canos vapor seems much more "throat-friendly". using the v-tower i get irritations like when i was smoking - not that intense but still something i do not get from my cano. so i would never sell my cano for anything else, as suggested in this thread. cano > extreme! :2c:

something else i recognize with the v-tower is that it seems you can easyly get near combustion - not realy combustion - but it seems like the weed "smoulders"(is this the right term?). this happens to me even at 200 when pulling on the bong to fast(packed the elbow). my fault or the v-towers? i thought, i read that you can't get combustion with the E due to it's "heatsensors"? i never got anything like that unsing my cano, even when it's dialed on 9 which is ~230...and i never go that high using my v-tower.

I m the advisee, your review is interesting !

Now, who owns a cano and a EQ to do a comparison ?:brow:

welcome to the forum, count!

Do you have the E or the V-tower? The E can blow bags and do whip hits, while the V-tower is just the whip model.

hi, thanks for the welcome :peace: i bought the v-tower, because i already have a vulcano classic for blowing bags. and also the v-tower was cheaper. the only thing i wanted/needed to have was a "whipstyle-vape" to complete my small collection. :brow:

that makes sense. it is hard to compare a bag vape to a whip vape. in my experience, all direct draw vapes irritate my throat to some degree more than a bag experience. The time spent in the bag allows the vapor to cool more.

so, raf007, understand that count was not comparing the E to the Volcano.

hi, thanks for the reply. if it's the same to you using a bagvape or whip, then it's not just my imagination :uhoh: good to know. and for the temp-thing you mentioned. i only use my v-tower attached to a bong. so the vapor here should be as "cold" as in the bag(room temp). and i used my bong with and without water. no remarkble differences in the effects i get.

i was comparing the cano to the v-tower - but only in how "vaked" i get from using one or the other. the cano gets me really wasted on a smaller amount of weed than i have to use in the v-tower. :2c:

I haven an E and have NEVER come near combustion. Maybe you don't have that much bud in it so it gets burnt, but never combusted, especially at 200C. If you have, that means your unit is faulty, and you should contact Arizer for a new one. I've turned mine to 260C with no combustion.

Hello,

ahhhhhh isnt that the truth. i always mean to get some yoga tips for deep breathing and breath holding.

to combat the huge exhales i sometimes stuff a load of weed into a tube and exhale all over that, or at least exhale a bit into the stash jar. probably doesnt do much but whatever, it might be better than nothing. or even better, put them directly in the path of the vapour (for instance in a wand but behind the loading area). pretty sure i stole this idea from one of tokins videos. hes a clever man it seems

Rebreathing probably is the best reuse of unabsorbed vapor that is being exhaled.
The condensation benefits of exhaling the vapor into a stash jar are probably outweighed by the negative impact that the addition of moisture could have on microorganism activity in the jar. I even worry about the intrusion of moist air resulting from blowing into my whip to clear a kicked bowl, which I find necessary to prevent screen buildup. I always try to remember to pull in air from the vape after this to clear it out.

Smoulder is exactly what I experienced in the Silver Surfer during the rare occurrences of combustion. Combustion, for me, was always near the end of a bowl and awful tasting.
I no longer can attain temperatures hot enough to combust on my SSV ever since I had to replace the heater cover after a friend broke it. The new heater cover doesn't fit as far down on the element base, so the air intake hole is further up the heating element. The new, lower temperature range is perfect because it maxes out at a temperature producing vapor output that is suitable for bong use. The relatively insubstantial financial blow of replacing the heater cover, sustained by my friend of course, was softened by the prospect of acquiring a piece with a fun new design.
Lack of a quantitative temperature dial is only admissible in the case of the SSV for the simplicity aesthetically, and functionally that this allows this rig to attain.
(packed the elbow) What do you mean? My understanding was the elbow is separated from the bowl?
