Heart complications after stent

Hello everyone, this forum has been a great help for me personally and educated me a lot about how to use marijuana to help live a better life. I am posting this for a very close friend who is going through a tough time. He doesn't keep up with technology so I asked him if I could help. Please read this message from him below and let me know anything at all that can help him too.

"Hi I am Ali , I am 58 years old . 12 years back after 2 heart attacks I had a bypass surgery . Since last year I again started having heart issues so it was recommended to get a stunt . During my stunt operation I damaged my artery . It is called Mitral Valve prolapse , a minor cardiac problem that occurs when one of the hearts valve doesn't close correctly . Because of this I have activate Panic Disorder . Its just been 3 weeks but it has already started effecting my personality ,I am not comfortable in most of places and with most of the people . I am always anxious and tensed . Doctor have suggested anti deprassants but I am looking for a herbal medication . So far the info I have gathered is that I need CBD and THC both to cure this with ratio of 2:1 . But I have also learned that THC is not good for heart . I am looking for your expert , all suggestions and recommendations are welcome ."

I could see how smoking it could affect heart rate, but if you took it in another form?
and when you say 2:1 ratio do you mean thc:cbd or cbd:thc?

High cbd low thc might be the option, there are many hybrid breeds being maade that are around 5-*%thc and 10%+ CBD..

i would look at alternative ways to use cannabis, without i use high THC in coconut oil... then frozen so i can use a number of ways, Orally, sublingual, topical or rectally.

Under the tongue (sublingual) is a quick method where it doesn't go straight to the head..

I would have your friend consult a cannabis friendly doctor if possible,
There just isn't enough data to prove either way..trial and error is how most of us find a good balance..

I don't smoke cannabis and the methods i use never seem to make my heart beat noticeably faster?

Yes cbd2 and THC 1, anyone have any experience with alternate herbs? That can be used or any recommended brand of already extracted cbd?

I have cardiomyopathy and COPD. Besides the normal medical tests to make sure my issues are not worsening I use an oxymeter several times a day and have for a few years. There is no immediate effect on my oxygen and pulse and so far no long term effect. However, if I were worried I would get some edibles. There are some bars I've run into recently that are high CBD with lower THC. I don't know if there is an exact ratio but it's probably close.

I would suggest you friend goes with the pros, cardiologists have the edge in matters of the heart. The trick is to find a practitioner who is up on herbal medications as well as cardiology.

Just be careful. I know that there are some here who are suggesting edibles but edibles can raise your heart rate as much, if not more than smoking or vaping, and can do so for a longer period of time. A rise in heart rate is not a concern for heart healthy individuals, but for one who's heart is compromised in one way or another, it could be concern.

If it were me, I'd take @howie105 's advice above rather than advice from those here who are not fully educated on the subject. Wayyyyy too much at stake here to do otherwise.

I have three stents in my heart, two from prior MI's and the most recent one (last Aug) for a 90% blockage but we got to it in time so no MI or further damage. I'm very lucky that my two MI's have resulted in almost no functional damage and my ejection fraction is still normal at 60%.

In in the run up to the most recent stent, I noticed that when I vaped I got pains between my shoulder blades (which is where I first get angina). This was due not to THC being 'bad' for my heart but because getting medicated elevated my heart rate just like getting on a treadmill during a stress test.

New stent, all issues have gone away and I'm back to vaping AND riding the crap out of my elliptical cardio trainer.

Now I'm with some of the posters above....I do not take serious health care advise from a MJ related BBS. Even if the poster is a cardiologist, I would seek the opinion of MY cardiologist who is very familiar with MY situation and cardiac condition. Just saying, want to know about vapes....come to FC. Want to know what's up with your heart, get a good cardiologist and stick with them.

Cheers
